  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. I have been gluten free for many years now, and although it took awhile to clear the mind, I now only get Brain Fog when I get cross contaminated. You may think you are completely clear of gluten, but tiny bits can sneak up on you. For instance, I only meet a friend for coffee where we can pour our own coffee. That way I can check the inside of the cup...
  3. Hmmmm, my hubby does that twice a day, I always just thought it was a man thing. He's not the one with Celiac Disease. Seriously, anything with sugar will give you down time, even without Celiac. But things like eggs with high protien should give you a boost instead. That is a puzzle. Maybe just your system telling you that it's time to nap.
  4. I was in town on Wed. and couldn't find any Heinz soups Guess we don't have them around. I also checked out the Imagine soups and couldn't find the words gluten free on them. I remember buying them a few years ago with gluten free written on them, but it's not there anymore. The ingredients look fine though, so I bought a tomato to try it. Haven...
  5. I have been fortunate enough not to have it, however, there is a new vaccine out for shingles. If you had chicken pox when you were a kid, it might be wise to get one. I totally forgot to ask my doctor for one last time I was in. Hopefully I will remember next time
  6. Thank you, I've booked marked it as well. Will have to look and see if my two main food groups are included. Chocolate and wine. Seriously, this looks very helpful!
  7. I think we are going into town tomorrow so will have to have a look for that soup. With any luck we can get it here too. We used to get Imagine that said gluten free on the pack, but lately I haven't been able to find the gluten free label Will have to look again. I miss my tomato soup.
  8. Yup, really me I'm having computer problems though, so just on periodically just yet. I had a total hard drive melt down and couldn't retrieve any of my data, settings or programs, so slowly getting back. I keep having to look through old note books to find passwords etc.
  9. Absolutely! Very wise I must go for now as I have company arriving, but will check back in tomorrow evening.
  10. I can see it being important, I just thought after all this time it would be figured out. How have you been? It's good to see there are still a couple of old favourites still here
  11. If it is a British import, would it meet north american gluten free standards. Or have the Brits stopped using wheat starch? They used to claim that wheat starch was gluten free. Does anyone know if that has changed?
  12. Wow, this is mind boggling! I've been away from this web site for months...if not a couple of years, and this discussion is still going on! Amazing!
  13. Hi Courtney; Welcome to the site Are you very active? I find that I have a lot more trouble loosing weight in the winter as I'm not a skier or anything like that. Summer time I'm into training dogs and golfing, gardening etc. so I'm much more active. And of course if I'm out playing with the dogs, I'm not in the house eating Also ... gluten free...
  14. Hello All ... I'm still here I think I sometimes wonder. It's crazy busy, so don't get on the computer much. I've got two seminars finished now, just two more to go. They are great fun, but do require time, thinking (that's hard ) and lots of practice. Tomorrow evening I will start doing dog obedience, agility and Rally O up here again...
  15. No, there is no specific test for the illium. The doctor knows where it is and can finger press to judge the tenderness of it. But more important, he can rule out the more dangerous things like ulcers and gallbladder. If these things are ruled out you can be pretty sure it is the illium causing the problems. My doctor calls it the Celiac pain. because...
  16. That sounds like the illium. Food is supposed to go through the illium as a broken down almost liquid. As we sometimes don't digest our food completely, larger chunks go through and sit in the illium causing a painful spot. Eventually it will clear itself, but if you are getting contaminated it will happen again. But I suggest you go and see your doctor...
  17. Sounds Awesome! It's wonderful to see a company listening! Thanks for posting that
  18. Yes, apparently they do absorb better. However, some people find them harder to digest ... for instance liquid Calcium doesn't sit well in my stomach.
  19. Hi everyone; I think I actually gained a pound back last week It's hard to tell, I found one of my new (ulcer) medications make me bloat, even though I made sure they were gluten free. It doesn't matter now as I went back to the doctor yesterday ... not my family doctor as he is away, but the one that originally thought it was gall bladder, and when...
  20. Hi All! I'm waiting for an advertizing promotion for the golf course to download to my computer. Dial-up takes forever and it's 3.7mb. At least it has given me a couple of minutes extra to pop in here. It was absolutely gorgeous today! I went out and did some pruning, and then pulled some hair out of Sheba she's shedding like crazy. Good thing we...
  21. Hi everyone; It's been a busy time here. Gone three weeks, it's spring time and we have six acres to clean up from Winter mess. Also need to publish a Kennel Club newsletter on Thurs. so gotta get that finished, then was up at the golf course to arrange a buffet for the Open Scramble Golf Tournament I'm organizing as a fund raiser. Don't have much computer...
  22. Hi All! And welcome to the new people in the thread. I promise I will catch up on everyone in the next few days. I just got home today and am way behind in everything It was a hectic and stressful trip up north. We ended up putting mom in hospital via ambulance a week ago last Sunday. I think she will simply be moved to the extended care unit after...
  23. Hi All; Just popping in quickly as we have to leave for Prince Rupert ( 1000 miles) on Sat. morning and I've a ton of stuff to do. I got a message from Dad today and mom is doing very poorly, so we will be going up. It's a worry for sure, I will phone them tonight and let them know we are coming, hopefully mom will perk up for a bit. Dad has a computer...
  24. Good Morning all; Hello momagn5! Yes, you can certainly join us! Weight loss, Celiac Disease and Budgets are always a tough one to get around, but here we all understand each other I have an added fun thing called distance to a store. Means I rarely get a chance to buy fresh salad stuff this time of year. Later on I will have some in the garden, but...
  25. By the sounds of things, what he really needs is a picnic lunch, his family and a full day off! Somewhere away from home and phone.
