  1. Did okay on the food yesterday. I really don't remember what I ate - I've been having waves of nausea for a couple days, not sure why (don't even think it - give no power to that possibility). Anyway, I didn't go to the gym because I was ucky all day. Hoping today will be better. I've just got to snap into action soon. If I don't make it to the gym,...
  2. I didn't do too bad yesterday, except the pm snacking. Veggie Frittata - 1 egg 1 yolk / zucchini, broccoli, onion, red bell pepper, garlic / olive oil 2 Corn Torts / chicken / salsa a little yogurt with coleslaw & some honeydew Dinner BBQ Chicken (1/2 breast) with coleslaw had a bunch of tortilla chips & a little chocolate...
  3. Joni, I'd stick to the airborne, especially if it's workin' for ya. Activate isn't something you'll find anywhere. I order it through Lame Advertisement (+ it's not recommended for autoimmune or atopy). Yeah, I had to take it real slow with the calf pull. Takes a while.
  4. Off Topic Reply ----> I was wondering how he was doing. BTW, 80 mg was a huge dose even for someone my size. She had me start at 80, despite the fact that it was a little higher than my tolerable level . Anyway, that's so great ! Kudos to you for helping them. Keep me updated on what's going on. I was actually going to PM you and ask. It doesn...
  5. Hope you're feeling better today, Joni. I used to use Airborne when I felt something coming on - it gave me a lift & we used it before airplane travel too. I use something called Activate Immune Complex now if I'm feeling like I'm catching something - I have to think it works pretty well. I haven't been "sick" in a few years since the respiratory problems...
  6. Walter, I'm pretty sure I remember you saying you had Crohn's. My SIL has that too & can't tolerate seeds at all. Same thing happens. I don't do well with gluten-free breads (kinnikinnic really did a number on me). Maybe you'll get some answers with your elimination diet (post B-day, of course - BTW, Happy B-day when it comes). I hope you...
  7. Wow Donna, you really do have a lot going on right now. Wow. So Joni, now you have a cold ? Maybe it'll be short-lived & you can get back to it ! BTW, that was our one and only training session. He was a stupid kid. I should have known better. That was brutal (I'm referring to the week I couldn't do anything that involved getting up from the...
  8. Thanks Liz - I saw a few I'm interested in trying soon. I think it's nice you took the time to do that. I get so tired of the same old gluten-free meals over & over again.
  9. Donna, You never know ... things may just go your way. I know a few people who had great pregnancies at 40-42. My sister was told that she'd never have kids after an illness as a teen, but she's had 3 healthy boys - the first weighed 10lb. 14 oz - super healthy the last one, she was 40. I hope it works out for ya. Bellyfat (Was it Joni? I'm...
  10. That would be so great ... maybe the show will take it seriously now that it's been mentioned. Imagine how many people are out there and just have no idea. The fact is that Dr. Oz's book (bought it after I saw him on Oprah) probably saved my life by planting a seed about food intolerances. Oh, And, Ugggh. There I go again ... I'm forever misinterpereting...
  11. Patti, I could burn the show to DVD if you'd like. It would probably disappoint you though. It's really a tiny blurb on the Oprah show. He mentions it for like 20 seconds at most. But, at least he mentioned it ! He didn't mention that in his show that aired on Discovery though.
  12. In one of his books "You on a Diet", he recommends that you do a version of an elimination diet before you begin eating that way. He's very clear about checking for problems with food. Maybe she did some version of an elimination diet and found out that she was reacting to wheat ... possibly at that point, they may have gone into further testing to confirm...
  13. You know what? I'm fat (by 8 lbs), I'm lazy, & I'm just going to have to accept it!
  14. Well, not exactly, but I don't think we have an emoticon for "What the 'Heck' - You must be joking". k
  15. That does make sense and it did occur to me when I watched it. It's probably not something he wanted to go into great length about. I wasn't bent out of shape about it - just kind of raised eyebrow, but I did think he could have said allergy / intolerance maybe. I have another show where he mentions an allergy to wheat too, but that wasn't a direct ref...
  16. BTW, did anyone notice the look on Oprah's face when he was talking about it? It was as if she had never heard of such a thing . My husband & I were laughing about it because I knew that she (or the show) had been contacted by members of this board (not a that's funny laugh - more of a that's unbelievable laugh). I really like Oprah - I'm not reaming...
  17. Wait a second ... You commute to happy fun time & I have to commute to the dentist ?! That hardly seems fair. I'm starting to think you have the better deal !
  18. Sorry I keep posting, but I'm just getting it ... I'm a little slooooww. I'll bet you would like to trade the yummy fun pizza & beer place for the dentist Thanks for the giggle.
  19. Well, I will definitely be going there for some of that fun ! Maybe they'll stick around.
  20. I think I might be wrong about the ELISA thing. I think that was for HEP C (neg). These lab results are crazy hard to figure out if you're not in the biz. Test was done under Immunoflourescence Microscopy - whatever that is on glomeruli (kidney membrane cells). Nevermind . This is a bother. It just says 2+ staining & I don't think anybody...
  21. Anybody know of Support groups in SD? I know I've seen them here and there, but never really had much interest at the time. Things have changed. I think I'm ready now.
  22. Oh My Goodness ! This place is practically down the street from me. I'm soooo going to check it out. Thanks Mango BTW, anyone here belong to any support groups? I'm having somewhat of a meltdown.
  23. I'm glad to hear that. I've been thinking about you guys (my sister had VF if you recall).
  24. I know it's complicated, but is IgM related to Celiac, or is it just IgG and IgA? Been looking through my labs 5 years ago, & my IgM looks to be of specific interest & they didn't test IgG, but I don't know what it means. It was an ELISA test but was performed on kidney cells, I guess. I'm starting to think that maybe I am Celiac - not that...
