  1. well lol in my opinion hawaiian tropic smells relatively ucky anyway, so i won't miss it, but thanks for the tip! =-D
  2. Yeah, i'm not sure how, but somehow, i heard that too. I don't know if it's a crazy rumor, but when I went gluten-free, i changed all my pots and pans just to be safe. Maybe its one of those weird rumors that we've all just latched on to for no apparent reason. If anyone finds out for sure, i'd love to know. Sorry, I know this was totally not helpful =D
  3. yeah i was about to say the same thing, lets think the other way, does anyone know ones that aren't gluten-free? i haven't seen one yet that has it, but i'll check them out =D
  4. I'm sorry you're feeling bad and you possibly or probably got sick from water! That's scary! I hope you feel better!!!! (I shop at kroger all the time) so thanks for the warning!
  5. I LOVE greys anatomy, i expect to have all y'all to blab with about it after it airs tonight lol =D happy watching!
  6. I'm happy you found it too, I always used to eat pepperidge farm white bread, and was so sad bc i'd never eat it again, this is so close, I practically had a little party when I tasted my first piece=D They also make bagels that are great (obv gluten-free) and some other yummy bread-like products =D
  7. Doctor Gordon Luk, Digestive Health associates of tx is my DR, he got me diagnosed in a MONTH, he is great, has been treating me since, go see him! (its hard to get an appt)
  8. ir eally like the kinikinick bagels, super yummy, taste sort of like soft pretzels used to. lol then again, it's been so long since i've had either, it probably tastes nothing like a bagel
  9. if you look on the internet, and on this site, you'll find, that in the end product of both, there is NO gluten, how ever, because wheat was involved, and is one of the 8 allergens, they MUST list it. calm down. you're fine. if you're not sick after eating them, they dont make you sick
  10. thanks for backing me up on this one, i think the point may be taken now that others have also explained, i think that a priest may know many things, but probably doesn't know about celiac disease and what may or may not hurt a celiac
  11. Ah, what a good idea!!!
  12. i use bobs red mill gluten-free all purpose flour, dip chicken in eggs, then the flour with pepper, salt, seasoning, then eggs then the flour, stick them in a pot of hot oil for a few minutes, and wallah, chicken strips!!
  13. lol omg that is my favorite too, when i say,at chipotle, i can't have wheat, they say, no these are flour tortillas, youa re fine.... they say that at chipotle, which is a great place to eat gluten-free, and practice your spanish too, but good luck trying to explain the flour has wheat thing to someone who doesn't speak english. (I'm a spanish major, so now...
  14. ok i dont want to get anyones hopes up, but i have heard multiple "rumors" that there is a gluten-free soy sauce? Have yo ulooked into that??? But, i use garlic, butter and mix in veggies.
  15. obvi in the end its a personal decision, but i'd say, if she's ten, you have to be the adult and realize what gluten can do in the long term. read some of the posts frmo the people who've been on here for a while, its not a good thing, i really think your hurting your daughter and you are the one in charge here. she should understand that god knows she is...
  16. sorry if i sounded a little agitated with my first reply, i just felt like iw as watchng someone do something in slow motion and was ready to dive and knock the communion out of your hands screaming nooooooooooo. Lol. i went through alot finding out of catholics could replace communion, and they also said, oh just take wine. and after i actually thought about...
  17. AHHH! NO. I am catholic as well. You cannot have a tiny piece of the host, the smallest piece will make her ill if she is celiac. NO. there is no replacement, as its come down from the pope that celiacs have no option. and, the wine is cross contaminate,d even if you are the first to recieve, it is CC from the priest, as he takes the host then the wine. so...
  18. a little off topic, but it seem slike all of is celiacs have pretty darn cute cats!
  19. get a new doctor. the deal with UC and celiac, is, if you have celiac ALSO, and your upper intestines are flattened and not propperly digesting anything, and sending things down further practically whole in an indigested form, of course they will FURTHER aggravate your already irratated body that has UC. So, yes, you can have one without the other, and one...
  20. just out of curiosity, in your opinion, what could they possibly do to hersheys kisses to put gluten in them? if its 100 percent chocolate? hide little bread crumbs in the center? they just don't want to be liable. its the same way alot of yogurt is technically gluten-free but they dont want to say it and be liable. its a personal choice, and we have to chose...
  21. there shouldn't be too much of a convo on this one, eat nothing, pack a yummy meal for yourself. its like playing russian roulette with your health.
  22. Hey, technically I'm not a teen, I'm 21, but I'm close enough, because I'm young like you. I had to cut down my courseload when I was in "crisis" before they figured out it was celiac. And, my biggest complain to my dr, although i also have some other stuff wrong, was that i felt like a 90 year old! And, the good news is, it goes away, i promise!! I've been...
  23. get a note from your docotor explaining celiac disease, carry it with you. bc of the ADA laws, any stadium or place like that that does not cell gluten free food cannot deny you bringing in your own food, i always carry my own. it should be NO problem at all.
  24. if anyone knows who kid rock is, his sidekick little joe DIED from celiac.
