ARCHIVED Guys - Peripheral Symptoms? (don't Read If Easily Shocked)
Cruiser Bob replied to gfp's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
You simply are not in the right place at the right time with the right person. Bob -
What about me & the Tillamook cheese (a business client) and Crater Lake Blue. I miss my diary quite a bit - just teasing, but I do miss my dairy. I've narrowed it to casein with me. I've talked to a bunch of cheese mongers over the years. Goat & Sheep casiens are smaller, thus easier to digest. Just the past 4-6 weeks I have been able to tollerate...

Cruiser Bob replied to Cruiser Bob's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Thanks all Next step for me is another round of tests to see what there is to see from that venue. Bob -
I'm back (not that anyone missed me terribly). I resigned my high pay, forest service job in Tahoe and moved back to Oregon. Medford (SW corner - bot not on the coast). My health - - well I boasted being at 60% a while back (while asleep at the wheel with my government job). After moving two households and staring up my appraisal business again...

ARCHIVED Cankersores?
Cruiser Bob replied to Joni63's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Canker sores in mouth - - rinse mouth with Aloe Vera juice = sores gone in 24 hours. At least that's how I've dealt with mouth sores for the past 10+- years. I'll have to start paying more attention to when they pop out - which is rarely any more. Bob -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
Cruiser Bob replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
GIG has two gluten-free camps also. One on Vashon Island outside Seattle, WA. The other is upper mid-west? - lakes area? Cynthia is always looking for volunteer cooks (I've done it twice - it's really nice to see the reaction when you say YES, you may eat that). My kids (15,17) just got home from 10 days of fun in the sun at GIG camp. They've been going for... -

You can PM me, or reply here - I'll check (assuming you don't generate 3 pages of forum overnight ). OK - I give, I'll check even if you generate a few pages :) ART is suggested as 1 of 3 alternative therapies for tendenosis. Short summary... -
ARCHIVED The Lyme Disease Thread
Cruiser Bob replied to CarlaB's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I'm about to move back to Oregon, thus I'm stalling until I get locationally stable to start anything long term. Then I'll start looking for a good practitioner and move forward with figuring things out further. Are the Herx a regular thing (like menstruation), or are they what/when/wherever? I haven't recognized any set pattern of higher distress - versus... -

ARCHIVED The Lyme Disease Thread
Cruiser Bob replied to CarlaB's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I'm still Yippee. One thing off the list - for now, in the process of eliminating things and getting to the bottom of what makes me go around. Time to make an appt. with the Internest (the king of referrals) and go to the next step of tests. My imune system was shot, really shot about 7-9 years ago. On the surface - - it's pretty good right now - - but that... -

Just a quick note, as I'm really busy and need to be out of town again for a few days. The IGeneX test is back - as per my orthopedic. Their interpretation is No Lyme, but they don't fully understand -a 3 page report. They are supposed to fax it to me, but it hasn't arrived yet. So, we'll see, so far so good. Bob -
Same outcome I had - minor inflamation at bottom of esphagus, call me in two weeks, thats' it. And yes I take prescript. drugs, and no I don't have any symptoms of reflux or Gerd. Bob

Tick, tick, tick -oops, I mean wait, wait, wait. It'll probably be another week and half for me to get my test results since I'll be out the later half of next week. Sara - If no lyme, you might think about cutting nightshades (the rest of the favorite foods ). Tomato, potato, peppers, eggplant. They have a correlation with arthritis type joint pain... -
ARCHIVED Poll: Are You Proud Of....
Cruiser Bob replied to LoveBeingATwin's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Follow your heart. Anything less is not being true to yourself and will more than likely be negative energy, which will more than likely manifest itself as a health issue. Been there done that - actually living through the back half of it, after running the family business for 21 years, currently a real job - but I resign in October and we'll see where... -
ARCHIVED Camping This Weekend - What Will I Eat?
Cruiser Bob replied to DingoGirl's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
Pepto, PB&J and Pecan crackers (travel staples) & a knife to spread things. Seriously - camping is when my guts do the best - if it's truly camping and not eating on the road (restaurants). I've been doing the gluten-free camping for 7+ years, including multiple 3+ weeks unsupported. (hint) - Put the Tamari Sauce in the camping vehicle... -
ARCHIVED Colonoscopy Tomorrow
Cruiser Bob replied to Teacher1958's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Well my procedure (endo & colon) went just fine - don't remember a thing, although I think I was awake the entire time - I guess. The drugs wiped me out for the rest of the day. Before the procedure and the delivery of the results - I have a major problem with - but that is all Doctor related -as in the PA completely mixed up my medical history and... -

Thanks Carla & Donna, it's wait and see now. The funny is that I have a round ring on the left side of my chest - but it's from the floaty thing that gave me a huge hickey on my side, after floating for an hour or so in the Lake. Got me going at first, but then I fugred it out. Now to gross everyone out: I think in about 1995/6 I was camping... -

Well, my blood went off to Igenex yesterday. $245 for W-Blot basic screening, plus blood draw. The endoscopy/colo were inconclusive. He only noted that I have some monor irritation at the bottom of the esphogus. I don't have any respect for this GI Doc though - after his PA totally mixed up my medical conditions and they wouldn't fix my medical records... -

ARCHIVED Muscle/joint Pain After Possibly Being Glutenated
Cruiser Bob replied to Mountaineer Josh's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Nightshades - just an idea. Nightshades are: Potato, tomato, peppers, eggplant. There is a known link (for some) that these cause arthritis and joint pain. Bob -
ARCHIVED Making Pizza With Tortilla
Cruiser Bob replied to Nic's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I've always used tostada shells (hard corn tortilla). You put a little sauce and then goodies on them, then back for about 10 minutes at 350. If you pull them out at the right time, the tostada shell will still be firm, but won't crack into pieces when you bite. Kids love them. Bob
