  1. That is sooo disappointing!!! Just when you think things are improving. Does the restaurant have a gluten-free menu on hand or did you have to go with the print out from online. What Kelsey's did you visit? I plan on emailing my local Kelsey's to see the response i get. Anna
  2. Has anyone traveled to Greece? Any gluten free experiences to share?
  3. Restaurants that were able to accomodate me were: - Texas De Brazil- filet mignon. Everything is cooked on a skewer over a flame. I would stay away from the salad bar because they use soy sauces. Email them first. - Wyndham Hotel- Pago Pago - Tony Roma's (get gluten-free menu from website first) - Flying Fishbone (a bit far from tourist area) - Le...
  4. Cross contamination question? Does anyone know if gluten can be burned off on the grill. In other words, lets say food is barbequed on the same grill that contains gluten. Is the high heat killing the gluten protein. In other words, denaturing the protein so it no longers harms us. Can food still be contaminated on the grill?
  5. Are all vinegars equal. I always buy Heinz white vinegar. But when i visit my aunt she often buys no name vinegars. Same with Red Wine vinegar is this gluten free? Are all brands created equal?
  6. Check out Litehouse and Renees. Go onto their website or email them and this should give you the info your looking for. Almost all litehouse products are gluten-free. It's been a while since i had Ranch kraft. But as of 3 years ago it was gluten-free.
  7. Well i only found out 3 years ago that i was celiac. So maybe it's from being deficient all those years. Thanks for the info. I will go again in 2 weeks to get another shot. Since the vitamins maybe ineffective for me if i am an individual with pernicious anemia.
  8. Thanks for the info. At the beginning of my pregnancy, i was checked for b 12 and it was fine. I guess it has been slowly dropping over the pregnancy. It's something that i have been monitoring over the last 3 years along with my ferritin. It seems my b 12 falls first and then my ferritin. Since the last blood test i have had a b 12 shot and i've been taking...
  9. My ob/gyn has not been good about checking my vitamin levels. I guess cause im gaining weight and have been doing well so she hasn't been to concerned. Just found out that i am b12 deficient at a score of 111 with the range being 133+. As well my hemoglobin is 116 with the range 120+. Now i have 5 weeks to go. And i am worrying that perhaps i have been deficient...

  11. I took iron pills and iron shots to boost up my anemia before pregnancy and although slightly under it was the best i could do. I got pregnant shortly after and the funny thing is my body did a dramatic thing, i got great blood work results. Now in my third trimester im anemic again. But the dr is not overly concerned i just take iron supplements, don't even...
  12. I stayed at the Bellagio (twice over the last 3 years). I ate at Senses there without a problem three times. There's a PF changs at the Alladin which is across the street. Nothing beats Vegas Service. It's incredible, let them know when you are making your reservation. I can't imagine why you'd be disappointed the service is impeccable.
  13. I also had a high ANA and markers for auto immune disease which they discovered when i was 17 years old. I had some joint pain so i went ot a Rheumatologist. But they were unable to diagnose me with anything. As the years went on, my stomach started to give me some troubles. I found out 3 years ago i have Celiac Disease. My G.I. says that celiacs often have...
  14. Have you been gluten free over the last four years. Intestines heal when you are on a gluten free diet. So it appears you don't have celiac but celiac never goes away once you eat gluten it comes back. Definetely do ENTerolab. It is recognized by G.I. in Canada and U.S. Also people can get damage anywhere along the intestine, they often don't check further...
  15. I bring bags of microwavable popcorn if you have a microwave. Or pop it yourself and put it in a ziplock -cans of tuna - fruit cups - fruit snacks (like a fruit roll up) - Im not sure if its Sam's or Cosco but i get the individually packed salad dressings and peanut butter from Kraft, also jelly from Smuckers. That way you can bring a handful with you...

  17. Open Original Shared Link gives you some info of various restaurants that are celiac friendly.
  18. My family has used it and my gastroenterologist was very much interested in the test because the person behind the lab is a valid and significant member of the medical world. As for shipping just couriered it and paid extra for 2 day delivery. You can order what you need online.
  19. So here's the contact information. Open Original Shared Link Im in Canada, but it benefits me as well. So lets give this bombarding idea a go.
  20. Is red wine vinegar gluten free? I just noticed my aunt has been using it instead of the white distilled vinegar? The label doesn't say anything other than red wine vinegar? Generally is this ok?
  21. Maybe you need to research where he can go and pick up some items.... I did a quick google search and came up with this... Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Maybe you can email restaurants directly to see if they can cater to you. Once you narrow down which restaurants are in your area. Open Original Shared Link Maybe check...
  22. Try to stick to some simple foods ie. Greek Salad which is just oil and lemon/vinegar + tomatoes, olives, and feta cheese. Fresh yogurt, cheeses like feta or kesari. Shiskabobs should be fine as long as they don't put a piece of bread on the stick or on the grill where they cook it. Marinade is usually oil, lemon, oregano, salt and pepper.
  23. Just thought i'd share with all of you that there is a wonderful Cake Designer in Toronto that makes delicious gluten free cakes for special events. It's called I do! Wedding Cakes and you can visit her website at Open Original Shared Link. These cakes are custom designed wedding cakes with premium whole ingredients.
  24. Just thought i'd share with any Torontonians that The Burger Shop provides gluten free burgers and buns. I spoke to the grill cook via email and they sound like they do a very good job in reducing cross contamination. Relish which is on the Danforth also provides a gluten free menu with many options. I emailed them as well. They didn't answer my questions...
