I second the Against the Grain baguette recommendation! That is some seriously good stuff. My favorite pasta so far has been the Jovial brand, but I'm too cheap for that and usually buy the Trader Joe's rice pasta.
  2. All I see is horrible, horrible things. I can barely get myself to sled down a hill. I don't think I'm a skiier!!!

Well, if it's a chicken patty you want, Bell & Evans is the brand for you! They make the BEST gluten free frozen fried chicken products. And yes, rum is an acceptable (and much more affordable) alternative to what mostly amounts to crappy gluten free beer. In my opinion the only good stuff is Green's. But then you said you like crappy lite beer...
  4. HAHAHAHAAA!!! Hey, whatever ya gotta do. Dinner for me tonight: something different! I added carrots instead of potatoes to my pot roast.
  5. There's actually a lot of options. You can go old-school and use lard. There is palm shortening, my personal fave for greasing pans and biscuit-y type baking. Some people use actual butter imitation products, like Earth Balance. A lot of people are finding success with using coconut oil as a direct butter replacement in a lot of baking recipes and for...
  6. Hey, hey, you thought Fluff came from a marshmallow Snot Monster, it's a fair question!
  7. Veggiegal, have your doctors informed you directly that they will prescribe alternative thyroid medications ONLY if you have a positive Celiac biopsy?
  8. No, Neroli's point was that you have been feeling fine, and have not been having any problems, therefore, you have reached what we'll call the 'base point' of an elimination diet. Right now, nothing is bothering you. Yay! Now is the time to start ADDING things. Slowly, one at a time. And not every 3 days- only one a week. You want to give yourself plenty...
  9. Krista, I think at this point you really just have to make a list of all the things you suspect could be your problem, remove them ALL, and then after a few weeks add one back at a time. This is the definition of an elimination diet. Like other posters have said, have a plan for when you add a food back. Make sure another adult is around for if any...
  10. I am of the opinion that fluff makes a better hot chocolate additive than marshmallows. Marshmallows take too long to melt and then get stuck to your lip. Also, I don't even want to know how your tiny little girl brain figured jam got into jars!

    ARCHIVED Aroma!

HAHAHAAAA! One day at work people were passing around a plate full of brownies, and it was handed to me to pass on, however, I started unwrapping it. My (lovely) coworker said 'Hey! You can't have that!' And I said 'But I can SMELL it!!!' And proceeded to take a very big whiff, to the laughter and amusement of the entire office...... I do find...

  14. Bacon? Dinner! Curry spiced boneless chicken thighs, fried apples, sauteed zucchini.
  15. I find your 'uniformed' typo amusing.
  16. Epstein-Barr is Herpes 4, and one of the most common viruses among humans. It is much more likely to affect those with compromised immune systems. So probably a lot of things are linked for Loey I had the shingles a few years ago, again more likely to surface when you have an autoimmune disease. Hope you haven't had the shingles Lo! They suck! Take...
  17. Pretty Woman- Roy Orbison
  18. I'll take a 5'10" - 6' footer, thick, bearded. Color combinations are of no matter. Preferably with some training so we can spar....
  19. Perhaps her parents wish for her a noble career at the Waffle House.
  20. Why do people do these things to their children? That and the normal name with a weird spelling thing... Just why???
  21. Second dibs on the cabana boy.
  22. Don't worry, the paranoia will pass and you'll calm down. It gets easier.
  23. There are no specific brands better for Celiacs. There are specific blends that benefit different people. Some people get positive results from just acidophilus, some like me require a broader spectrum probiotic. And yes, you can take them every day for the rest of your life and be just fine. It's fantastic that you found one that's already working for...
  24. Basically, pretty much anything you buy that's only one ingredient is safe. The only single ingredient products you should be concerned about are flours and starches, as you'll want to make sure that they are milled and packaged safely. But a bag of salt, bottle of olive oil, things like that, really have no opportunity for being contaminated in any way...
