  1. All you can really do is try to be a good example. Unfortunately in this case better education and acceptance of your situation would have made that easier for you. I don't have any children. Instead, I am now a surviving adult child of what I believe to be a Celiac casualty. I got sick and then went gluten free when I was 19, and tried very hard to convince...
  2. Razzle, I take PB8, which is a combo probiotic, it comes in capsules, and the one I get has a blue label, and the ingredients are the probiotic organisms, inulin from chicory root, cellulose, and gelatin. I am not a corn expert so I do not know if it's corn safe, corn is not listed on the 'free from' list on the bottle. I can tell you that you would...
  3. Oh yeah, fried/baked apples are super tasty cold. Can also do turkey if you're tired of chicken.
  4. Yah, everyone who lives on the East Coast has no sympathy for the King....
  5. I find cold roasted chicken and zucchini to be very tasty.
  6. I use Everyday Minerals makeup, on the rare occasion I bother , and I use Ecover chamomile and Marigold scent dish soap as shampoo. This got started when I tried to use it as dish soap and it just didn't cut it, so it was sitting there not being used when I ran out of shampoo one day. Might not agree with your hair, I do not process my hair with...
  7. I like the Glutino pretzels very much, my family fights me for them ( ) and I also like the ones that come in little bags- Wylde? I forget, anyhoo, the round crackers from Glutino are also very good.
  8. Madagascar, yes, continue taking digestive enzymes, however, DO find safe ones. This is not hard- I get mine at Trader Joe's, any Whole Foods or health food store should have it, or there's always the "big evil river" website (I say evil because they spammed the board and are banned) you can order from, or Vitacost. Probiotics are also a good idea at this...
  9. Please keep in mind, guys, the conversation you are joining is two years old, and many of the participants may not be around anymore. Very amusing thread to resurrect though.
  10. To the original poster, there is something I would like to share with you. Some time ago I attended a work function where they showed videos of the 'higher ups' talking about the state of the company and blah-de-blah. Go, team, yeah we get it. There is one thing that the vice president (now president) of the company said that has stuck with me ever...
  11. HAHAHAAAA! I have the Devil Went Down to Georgia on my playlist and it was playing along at the same tempo as Rachelle's dancing girl in her signature! LOL
  12. I had a wicked earwax impaction, and had been putting a drop of olive oil in each ear and squidging it around by mushing that ear flap thing that covers the hole every day for two weeks, and finally saw the ENT doc, and he said it was actually quite a good idea and made the removal much less traumatic than it would have been otherwise, and it's also a...
  13. Don't forget your probiotics!!!
  14. You might get some relief from the cold doing a hydrogen peroxide soak in your ears once a day, and when my ears get itchy I put a little olive oil in them. It's soothing and virucidal.
  15. Haha, it's not a baby of mine, two friends of mine have now had their babies and I couldn't be happier with all the snugglin' I'm getting!
  16. It does give a cool mist, and I know the film of which you speak- this one has not done that. I am, however, giving it filtered water. So, I dunno.
  17. I got a little humidifier at CVS for travelling, it's a sound-wave humidifier, no filtration, you just tip a bottle of water into it and turn it on. It has a little adapter thingy for the bottles of water. I think it's fantastic. Plus, no boiling!
  18. Do any of the farms in your area do that thing where they sell a whole cow or half a cow butchered to your specifications? Then all you need is a chest freezer. I would think someone who's local, like a farm that has their cows butchered by the guy down the street, should be able to accommodate you.
  19. I have been grain free for a couple weeks now, and before that was 95% sugar free. I do occasionally use honey with no repercussions. My sugar issues are very direct- I eat sugar, and the lymph glands in my neck swell up the next day like they do with the first day of a cold, and I get very fatigued. Sugar definitely affects the immune system. I will...
  20. I thought that's what the yeti was for....
  21. It may not be enough, Nicole, but the nice part is that even if the tests don't come back positive, he can still eat gluten free and feel better. You don't need anyone's permission!
  22. I could use some bacon... or baking....
  23. That's much better! Gotta have the baloney song at the beginning or its just not right! Oh, the second baby I've been expecting was born Wednesday. He was 4 weeks early, but required no medical attention, and is nursing like a champ. 6lbs 9oz. They did have to bake the baby (jaundice) but they're home tonight! Yay!
  24. It was taking forever to load, I suppose that's only fair. I guess that means Ptaumass gets an extra couple pages of sovereignty!
