  1. I've been mixing the nettle tea with chamomile, as I've needed the relaxing effects as of late, and there's only so many cups of tea I need to be drinking in a day. Is that ok to do? So many questions...!
  2. i just leave the tea bag in the cup until it's cool enough to drink, then I drink it, and brew another. It definitely gets just as dark the second time around for me. And it tastes the same.
  3. HAHAAHAAAA!!! No, because I tend to gain weight in my rear end and so it makes the scar ache because it's being stretched. Snarkypants.
  4. Cheesey spicy homefries w/onions
  5. I've been brewing the tea in the morning, and then a few hours reusing the teabag. Does this have any value or should I be getting a new tea bag each time?
  6. I have a scar on my tailbone that tells me when I've been gaining weight! Does that count?
  7. I had a dream recently that I was a spy and my assignment required me to eat gluten....
  8. Yay crunchy apples! I definitely need to get me a dehydrator, can't wait to make dried fruits and veggies and beef jerky!
  9. There's everybody! Well, not EVERYbody, but you know what I mean. K, I feel better now....
  10. I discovered yesterday I was out of butter (horror!) so I made fried apples with just a spoonful of honey, and am eating that with leftover roasted chicken now. Cold fried apples are DELICIOUS!
  11. ...........tumbleweeds...... Where IS everybody?!!? <---Lonely Bunnie....
  12. Besides, I'd like to think that I've paid my dues by now and my karma should be bringing the pSiLlies only happy things at this point. Right?
  13. Started my nettle tea today! Will see what sorts of things happen.
  14. Halle-frikkin-lujah! I am suffering from psilly withdrawals what with all the maintenance and storm stuff!
  15. Old, crappy fence is down in backyard, few twigs, that's it. I may venture out shortly to see how my town fared. There's definitely a few towns in CT that will be out of power for a while.
  16. I find I prefer stovetop pot roast anyway. But that's just me!
  17. Honestly, you don't really have to add anything to replace the vanilla, it is a taste enhancer only. Adding a bit of honey, about a tablespoon (or as I like to do, pour it and count one-one thousand) would be just fine. I make my pot roast on the stovetop as well. I choose roasts between 2-4 lbs, and first, in the pot, brown each side in olive oil and...
  18. Yeah, I'm stupid, she totally responded to a post of MINE on FB this morning. Obviously not awake yet....
  19. I think I saw a post here somewhere or on Facebook, she is out of power but otherwise fine.
  20. For pot roasts, go for cuts that have more fat, like chuck roast. I made one the other day that was fantastic. And for heaven's sake cook it longer! Tell me your method, oven or stovetop? And yes, honey would fine, the vanilla doesn't affect the chemistry of the cake, only the flavor. It is not essential.
  21. Doesnt CT count as eastern seaboard?!?! I suppose we won't get hit as bad as those farther south though. Thus far, it has been loud, windy, and rainy. Sounds about like a hurricane. Couple flickers for me in the power, but no loss as of yet. I think we might be in the clear, supposed to be more about rain now, and I'm too high elevation to worry about...
  22. I heard on the radio that about 50,000 people in CT are already out of power. Someone posted on Facebook a picture of one of those big trampolines up in the air hung on power lines. Since some dingbat didnt understand the meaning of 'batten down the hatches!' Thus far, the biggest impact the storm has had on me is boredom. Everyone's too busy...
  23. At least you probably won't get a flood....
