  1. My point was that if you have intermittent diarrhea and you're a half mile from the house, you're not gonna make it back in time if you have to go. I was not disputing the therapeutic nature of the outdoors, in fact I agree with you. Such therapy becomes ineffective when you've crapped your pants. I was merely recommending she stay close to home.
  2. Just don't walk too far from the house.... speaking from experience... When my father was diagnosed with cancer, I went through a 96 pill bottle of imodium in three weeks. Didn't help much, but it was all I had at the time. I can tell you that my mother, who was my father's caretaker during his illness until his death, very much needed me. She needed my...
  3. I'm pretty sure I already got the swine flu, I work in a hotel so I'm exposed to everything that comes down the pike. I'm fairly certain it was the swine flu because I actually got quite sick for two or three days, and I haven't been hit hard with a cold in two years. I used to get at least three bad colds/flus every winter, now I might get one mild cold...
  4. My boyfriend is more paranoid than I am. He had some gluteny stuff in the house he was really careful with, but he started to get too nervous about it (I get sick for one full month off some ridiculously small amount of gluten) and now he doesn't keep anything in the house. He'll eat it when we're out, but usually not because he doesn't want to have to carry...
  5. I can't have gluten-free oats either, and I've spoken with a lot of local Celiacs who also can't tolerate them. I think they're safe for some people, but you never know if you're one of them until you try it.
  6. Hee, you're a guy so you've never experienced the random bloating thing before, have you? If you play with your stomach and there's no 'squish' in the flesh, and it feels kinda round and hard, it's bloating, not fat. It'll probly clear up as your gut levels off. If you're tolerating dairy, I say add some organic plain yogurt (we add fruit at home, the big...
  7. Dude, worked breakfast yesterday from 5:30 to 9:30, came back and worked nighttime for my coworker from 4:30 to 10:30, and now I'm back this morning. I feel like I'm in the twilight zone. And my tummy's too angry at me for me to have coffee.
  8. Y'know, our neighbor has a dog they say is deaf and that it howls when it's alone, and that's why we hear it howling all the time. Well, maybe you SHOULDN'T LEAVE YOUR DOG ALONE!!!! Pretty much any dog can be trained out of unecessary barking. If you can't take care of a dog, don't get it!!!
  9. See, I've always wanted to do jury duty, I kinda think it would be fun, but I've always worried about the fact that though I've been gluten free for a few years, I still have occasional unexpected, unprovoked, URGENT gastrointestinal issues that are not gluten provoked. I purposely work a job where I can step away at any time to do what I need to do, happened...
  10. Goin a bed!! Those stills from the show look extremely goofy out of context, it's fun.
  11. I just need all the fat I can get for my brain to function properly. And lowfat stuff is more processed. Good to know, thanks!
  12. Did you use low fat to avoid calories or because it works better in the recipe? I have an aversion to low fat dairy products.
  13. Looks like I'll be buying some cottage cheese today. Do you use small curd?
  14. We had that with sausage and garlic tomato sauce last night! I actually bake mine in the oven, and I leave the seeds in there for baking, I find it easier to scoop them after.
  15. Me too. I was 105 lbs at my sickest, I'm 5'7". I'm now 145, and only the last 15 were fat. I could easily switch that to muscle, but I kinda like it! I figure wimmens are suppose to be squishy.
  16. Scoosie, you's can have some of my psilly. I's goin a bed and won't need it fer a while, see, you can has some Royal Silly!!!! Kinda like royal jelly but less sticky....
  17. I guess I just think you're gonna be a crappy (pun intended) juror if you're constantly worried about your next bathroom break. I've been tagged but never even actually went to the courthouse, always been cancelled the night before. I think it sounds like fun, but interrupting a court session for my spastic colon doesn't.
  18. Do they let you just get up and go? Would the give you like a "Hold, please" sign to hold up?
  19. I realize this has been said a number of times, but it bears repeating. Not everyone gets completely better on a gluten free diet. Moi included. My insides still freak sometimes, and it has nothing to do with gluten.
  20. Ohmygod. For the record, if I was making these, I'd just plop balls on the sheet and bake. I would have lost the ability to wait by that point, and the pretty little crescents would fall by the wayside... I think I'm making these tomorrow.
  21. Can I ask if anyone else has had an experience like this and been tempted to go throw up and try and get it out of your system? I haven't yet, as I've only been glutened by trace stuff and I always take two days to react, so I wouldn't be able to do this, but wondered if anyone had.
  22. Sheer curiosity- do they let people eat while court's in session? Or would a hypoglycemic just not be chosen?
  23. See, this is why I didn't want to be queen. I got involved with this TV show on Netflix (two, actually) and have been MIA for far too long. I sowwies. Emmel!! I so sorry about the puppy.
