  1. Yeah- instead of diarhea, vomit on someone. Then you'll both get out of it.
  2. Happy birthday!!! Hey, who's that guy you keep putting pictures of in your avatar?
  3. Actually, tapioca starch is a very effective binder, more so than all the other starches. You may want to use 1/2 corn starch and 1/2 sweet rice flour instead of potato starch. I would do that, and use 1 cup sorghum instead of rice flour. So this recipe probably would've held together well enough without xanthan if it had the tapioca, a few recipes are like...

    This is really good advice!
  5. Oh my god I was up til 4 in the morning..... and I wasn't even drinking. Hope nobody's all hungover?
  6. I'm still at work listening to horrible holiday music in the lobby speakers. My bf will be coming soon to pick me up for our par-tay! Very smal par-tay..... No drinking for bunnies, little run down lately. Sugary alcohol not so good for tired bunnies, maybe one glass of red wine all night. Did you know bunnies can be litter-box trained? I'm so excited...
  7. As an aside, I've been taking the Bob's Red Mill gluten-free cornbread mix and using it to make pancakes instead of cornbread, it's AMAZING. 1 cup mix 1 cup milk 2 eggs Very simple! Might still be too expensive for you though, so try that other recipe before the breakfast.

Sounds like you're in a tough position. Have you spoken with your daughter about how sick you were? Perhaps a reference to this board and some literature might help her understand how serious this is for you and how careful you need to be. Do you think she feels like you're trying to 'convert' her and she's getting defensive? May I ask, is your daughter...
  9. I'm O+, brown-brown Polish/English. So, why would all the other blood types need shots? For what?
  10. Are there any medical articles or info you could link me to that says a positive blood test doesn't count as a definitive diagnosis? I'm interested in reading more about this, as I went gluten free on my own and never pursued testing. I got the rash, so there's no question about it where I'm concerned, but I am curious.
  11. Awwww....... Reason #4 I don't have cats.
  12. Have you considered sedation dentistry? They can gas you, clean your teeth, and you ne'er feel a thing, and then your mouth isn't numb all day. May I ask why you need numbing for a cleaning?
  13. Well, I haven't been to the dentist in quite some time thanks to a lack of health insurance, and he showed me the cavity, it was quite apparent. I didn't doubt him at all. He actually complemented me on my dental hygiene. This cavity was obviously slow-going and has been there for some time, according to how long it's been sensitive to cold. I'm glad he caught...
  14. HI! Sounds like you're having a tough time. Can I ask if you've considered other food intolerances? This sounds like a common problem with people who find they also can't have dairy, that may be what's keeping you from gaining weight. And I know just how you feel, I was extremely underweight before gluten-free as well and people would always bug me about...
  15. Enjoy life chocolate chips are DELICIOUS and allergen-free, no gluten, dairy, or soy. They're tiny, too, so they're great for baking with as they don't fall down to the bottom.
  16. It depends completely on the person. There are some people on the board who feel sick for a day or less, then there's me who gets sick for weeks. If you find your diarrhea getting out of control, don't be afraid to take Imodium.
  17. Oh, I thought Edna stood for something. I don't think I like Edna.... Side pondering: I work in a hotel, and have for a number of years. There is currently a large teenage girls hockey tournament, with some of the teams staying here. They come every year. WHY OH WHY do all these parents consider this a chance to go drink beer in the lounge and...
  18. I say activated charcoal, dandelion root tea, no dairy for a while, and peppermint tea. And no caffeine, no matter how tempted. Try some melatonin at night to help the insomnia. And chamomile tea for a few hours before bed, that works great on me. Lots of tea!
  19. Got any baking soda? That ones easy.
  20. I'm guessing the water helped you throw up, is what happened. Pizza can be a very dry food, and was probably just kind of stuck. If you're no longer throwing up, you don't have to worry so much about dehydration, especially if you're keeping down the gatorade. I would switch to broths at this point, start with veggie, then chicken. You'll get a lot more nutrients...
  21. Wow! Those guys are awesome!
