  1. Sorry, I work in a hotel and it was super-busy today. On the bright side, I'm getting my new (old) car today! Well, I'm buying it today, I probably can't take delivery until tomorrow. Bloody DMV, always close so early.
  2. Oh, shut up......
  3. I mean it! I've had a lot of success with things people thought weren't doable.
  4. I think you're stuck on this one. You may have to have a microwave class for your husband and make the noodles ahead of time. do't forget to butter them liberally before refridgerating, they stick something fierce if you don't.
  5. See, this is totally not a problem for me. My father died of leukemia at 53, and I get sick for a full month (miserably, can't work for part of the time sick) off even the tiniest bit of gluten. Those two things are plenty to keep me from even doubting, or being tempted to cheat.
  6. Y'know I figured out peanuts are a problem for me, and that was harder for me to give up than gluten! You know why? Peanut butter ice cream. I'm addicted. At least I found sunbutter, maybe I can try to make ice cream with it. I got off lucky though, thus far those are my only two things.
  7. No, how appropriate! That's the perfect place to put celiac flyers!~ I think she's onto something.....
  8. There's a blog called Gluten free By the Bay that has a pita recipe that looked pretty good.
  9. Like I said, if I say no to something like a kiss for ANY reason, and someone ignores me and does it anyway, it is intrusive at best and abusive at worst. You're welcome to interpret that however you like. In my world, my body is MINE and nobody else gets to decide what happens to it.
  10. I have not reacted to anything by Bob's Red Mill that said gluten-free on it. And I would know, trust me. Try 3/4 sorghum and 1/4 coconut flour for the same recipe, see what happens. One extra egg or so for the coconut flour.
  11. Hey, gimme one of those that doesn't work, I'll see what I can do.
  12. I was at home on the computer and my friend called me to tell me what happened. I didn't understand at first, I thought someone had made some mistake and reported something wrong on Tv. My best friend had flown to Germany the day before and I hadn't heard from him yet, I was terrified he was hurt. A friend of mine has special chips in her ears (she's deaf...
  13. Yeah, like the whey protein shake I almost bought because it said gluten free on the front, out of habit, I flipped it over. OATS. First, OATS does not equal gluten free!!!!!!! Second, and more importantly, WHY DO YOU NEED OATS IN A WHEY PROTEIN SHAKE!?!?!?!? Bah humbug.
  14. Huh? Since when are turtles a salmonella threat?
  15. Yeah, I couldn't stand up straight all last week, definitely an inner ear thing for me, I was NOT Cc'd. You might look into getting adjusted by a chiropractor, that always fixes my problem.
  16. I'd try a layer of plums, then pears. Or apples & raspberries.
  17. Do you just spend all day thinking this stuff up?
  18. Me too. Lately I've been getting this feeling like even though I'm breathing fine the oxygen isn't getting in, very uncomfortable. I guess you could call that 'air hunger'. I have an old mattress and I'm worried there may be mold inside, we're on the search for a new one. I'm not gonna rip it open, that would probably make it worse if there is a problem.
  19. Alright, I'm going to create a scenario for you. "Hey hon, I just found out that ___ makes me sick, even little tiny itty bits. Maybe I'll get better now." "Oh well, gimme kiss anyway!~" We've heard stories of a lot of family/spouses that pull this kind of stuff, and have learned to be very sensitive to it. Personally, if I say no to anything like...
  20. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!!!! I like it.
  21. I wish I could go, I live in Ct, but I just can't afford it. It was either this or a four-day getaway over Thanksgiving, and the celiac convention lost hands-down.
  22. Yeah, you're body is detoxing, it can get pretty freaky. You're welcome to share all the gory details!
  23. I can fit in yer suitcase..... really.........
