  1. I think I've seen those on Paris Hilton.......
  2. I am, in fact, disproportionately bitter about the fact that I can't find butterscotch chips. But I'll live. My name is actually Julie, and I know there's a Julie here already, so I'm perfectly happy with Bunnie. That was my Daddy's nickname for me, that's why it's in my handle. He'd always callled me bunnie, then it became Bunnie1 after he saw the first...
  3. I know EXACTLY how you feel and I think you ROCK!!!!!!
  4. Anybody know what forum the thread's in or good keywords to search for it with?
  5. GFP, please understand that this is not a criticism, but you are very hard to understand. You ramble and sort of just expect us to be able to follow your scientific analogies. I totally didn't get half of that post. I think what you're trying to say is that-quote- "Perhaps 'Mild Case' is the wrong way to put it, but I use what shampoo I want, what toothpaste...
  6. HAHAHAHAH!!!! Poor little guys, skunks get the short end of the stick a lot. I think maybe it's cosmis karma.
  7. Good call! Pineapple sorbet cake with coconut frosting....... oh boy.
  8. I used to love oatmeal cookies with butterscotch chips, that was the only kind I liked, not chocolate chip or raisin and definitely no nuts. Anyone had any luck with baking with kasha (buckwheat groats) instead of oats? I don't think I can have oats, it's not even worth it to me to try anyway. I'd be sick for a month. But boy do I miss oatmeal cookies.....
  9. Well, he discovered after moving in with me and eating gluten-free all the time that when he does have pizza or whatever somewhere he has some rather 'unfriendly' side effects (whew) so he usually doesn't eat any. I think my boyfriend may be the most understanding guy on the planet. When it comes to Celiac, I mean. He won't even let anyone in the house without...
  10. Actually, my health food store is only moving a block down the street, but I think they're hoping to try and get rid of lots of old stock and make new choices about the new store. That, and it's a city block, so there's lots of traffic and their current location is inside an indoor mall, not a real easy way to move things because you'd just have to carry...
  11. I'm sure there's someone out there who's figured out how to make a cake out of sweet potato and pear puree or something! I'd try the specific carbohydrate or raw food diet recipes, those are bloody ingenious. Didn't somebody say they made a flourless carrot cake?
  12. No eggs huh? Does the pumpkin help hold it together? Are they kinda flat or fluffy?
  13. Hey, don't feel bad, our local health food store is moving locations, so they put everything 40% off so they wouldn't have to move so much stuff, and by the time I got to checkout my cart was so full I startled the guy. They had to box our stuff instead of bagging it! I bought six packages of Against the Grain bread, I'm such a nut. But hey, I saved a hundred...
  14. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. I wonder how psyllium fiber would work with baking... Hmmmm...... Psyllium fiber for silly-yaks. My boyfriends gonna love this one.
  16. Maybe you could give us a list of what IS ok, and we could work with that.
  17. Try not to read too much into everything. You're probably craving Grape nuts because they're yummy. Don't bother trying that Nutty Flax cereal as a replacement though, IMO, they were disgusting. I had a gluten dream last week and I usually don't have them anymore. When I've had them in the past, it's been I'm eating something and hten I realize it may...
  18. Yeah, rice bran is good when you don't want the gamy flavor of flax. Don't use as much rice bran as you would flax, either, it makes things mealy if you use too much, it doesn't gel like flax does. Ex: two Tbps flax seed: one Tbsp rice bran.
  19. Maybe buckwheat? I don't know if you've tried that yet, it's not actually a grain. Or a nut flour or mild bean flour if those are ok things. Does she react to starchs like tapioca or potato?
  20. Proper response: "No, I think I'm allergic to you."
  21. Harisa, where are you from? It may be that Austria has different definitions of what gluten-free means. For example, in the UK, there can be a very small amount of gluten, which most of us still react to, so we don't trust things that say gluten-free from the UK sometimes. You might want to stop eating any of the 'replacement' foods while you're there and...
  22. Yeah, I went back to work as a breakfast attendant/concierge, and I was wearing this one ring I love, and after a little while I realized I was getting a horrible bumpy itchy rash (just like when I had DH) under the ring, where I'm assuming crumbs would get caught. No more rings.... sigh....
  23. yes, which is one reason I recommend it for heavier, spicy/ or chocolate stuff. The taste blends well with peanut butter flavor too.
