  1. I use the same receipt as Mango above, except I add 1 tsp. of vanilla. Roll into balls, roll in sugar, flatten with fork and bake. I think I bake about 350-375 no more than 10 minutes. For me, the recipe makes maybe 1 1/2 to 2 dozen cookies. Hope this helps.
  2. I think these are some of the best gluten-free cookies I have had. The ginger molasses and chocolate chip are both delicious, and I'm not even much of a chocolate chip fan.
  3. I got lunch from the Uno's in Ellicott City, Maryland today and tried the cheese pizza. It was carry out so I asked the manager how I could be sure I had the right thing. He said that the manager supervises every gluten-free pizza being made and told me how they use designated utensils, etc. The gluten-free pizza is round whereas the flatbread pizza is...
  4. I don't know how helpful this will be but when we were last year we went to a restaurant where one of the waitresses was a celiac. (Of couse, I don't know if she is still there). She wsa very helpful, the food was good, and I didn't have any problems. Of course, I can't remember the name of the restaurant but it is on the main street of Breckenridge...
  5. I also like the Pamela's bread mix. The only thing I do different than the recipe is boil them longer than it calls for. Sometimes I add cinnamon and raisins. Sometimes dried cranberries and walnuts. Yum!
  6. That is great to know. I just saw them for the first time but chickened out on buying them. I guess I will have to make a trip back to buy them. They now carry them at Lilit Cafe in Bethesda, MD, for anyone in the Maryland/DC area.
  7. I like the french rolls. They are thick so I slice them into thirds. I just wish I lived in the west to get the bagels! I also really like their granola, fire roasted corn, carnitas, vitamins and Omega 3s, among other things listed here. They also have a gluten-free list on their website which you can look at before you go. Enjoy.
  8. I would definitely cook the noodles separately and add them at the end or pour the soup over top of them. I tried it once with a conventional recipe. When I got home the noodles were more than mush. They pretty much disintigrated. I was so disappointed!
  9. Trader Joe's has a great gluten-free granola located near the cereals. I don't know if it is made on shared equipment though.
  10. So how were the pancakes? Where is the restaurant on Rockville Pike? Have you been to Lilit Cafe in Bethesda - yum! Thanks for the info.
  11. Thanks for the recipes; they sound yummy. So, I am assuming the only thing you did to use the regular oats was to chop them a bit? You didn't change any portions or anything, right? I will try to chop my oats a bit and try them in my recipe. I will let you know if it turns out. thanks.
  12. I don't know any restaurants, but I do know 2 places that make goodies: tenzoartisans.com I have only tried their gluten-free cinnamon bun and it was great! You can also check glutenfreedesserts.com to find out where her products are sold. Sweet Sin makes great cookies, bread, etc. I think everything I have tried has been good!
  13. Now that there are more gluten-free oats out there, I'd like to try them in some of my recipes. Some of my recipes call for quick oats but the only oats I've seen are regular, long cooking. Does anyone know how to replace quick oats with regular oats? I am sure you have to add more fluids and I'm wondering if anyone knows a specific ratio? Thanks.
  14. Does Sara Lee actually make anything we can eat?
  15. OMG, thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this! A nice soft pretzel is something I keep looking for and craving. Now I have the perfect excuse to check out the new stadium. I see where they are also open in Lakeforest Mall near me. I think I need to go shopping tonight!
  16. They have lots of good gluten-free food. Go to their website and check the FAQ. The list says it expires in 6/07 but I asked the manager and she said the ingredients of what I wanted to eat hadn't changed since then. I like the pepper bacon wrapped filet. The ribs are also listed as gluten-free but don't eat the fries. Enjoy!
  17. I just got an email from Lilit that they are having another gluten free pizza night tomorrow, Saturday, December 1. They are having a new thin crust. I tried their pizza for the first time recently and my only complaint was that the crust was too thick. I am hoping to make it tomorrow night and check it out.
  18. Yum, I am so jealous. I haven't found Bob's gluten-free oatmeal in any of the stores around here yet. I may have to order some off of the internet as a Christmas present to myself. Oatmeal is one of the things I miss most. OMG, oatmeal raisin cookies, they are my favorite! Jackie
  19. We are headed to Breckenridge to ski in January. Anyone have any gluten free restaurant experience/recommendations there? Thanks.
  20. I am so disappointed. I just knew they would decide to have the pizza night on a weekend I was out of town. . Was it very well attended? I will have to go give it a try. I still haven't even tried Redbridge yet. Where is this Rustico's and has anyone tried their pizza? Did anyone notice if Sweet Sins had any pumpkin muffins there? I know they only...
  21. Their burgers and fries are delicious. I know my Five Guys uses Kraft cheese and that is safe too. They also cook the onions and mushrooms with nothing added. Yummmm..... The cashier at my Five Guys is amazing. She must know someone with Celiac. She watches over the people fixing my food like a hawk, makes them change their gloves etc. before even...
  22. That is interesting. I noticed last time I was at Whole Foods they had marked as discontinued several of the gluten-free mixes, including Pamela's bread mix, which I regularly use to make bagels. Now I wonder if that is the reason for it? I can't wait to go check out what they have.
  23. I was diagnosed earlier this year. My doctor said it was very important to come back to him in about six months for follow-up testing because it is important to determine that you have stopped reacting. I am not sure exactly wants to do, maybe endoscopy and blood work? Anyway, do most people have follow-up endoscopies and regular GI doctor visits? Thanks
  24. Does that mean that gluten free oats do cause the worst reaction or all or regular oats? I miss oats more than anything but I'm still too afraid to try even the gluten free ones yet. If I test well once I have follow-up medical tests, I am planning to try them.
