  1. Almost 14 months!
  2. Thanks so much! I just hope that the stores here have these products! I don't think that I'm caesin intolerant, I think it's just a lactose thing. I've never been officially tested I just know my body hates dairy and/or anything else with lactose in it.
  3. I would go and have fun! In these situations, I usually eat before and/or after, or I bring something for myself. If it's a bbq, just bring your own gluten-free buns, bbq sauce, ketchup... I've done this before and nobody seemed to care, they were just interested. I don't know if I am just lucky or what, but I always seem to have good experiences when...
  4. That is horrible... People need to grow up and stop being so selfish, there is more to life than food.
  5. haha yeah I was thinking about that when I wrote it...
  6. Thanks guys for your help! I really want to be able to cook with milk again and since I cannot tolerate ANY lactose, I thought I would give soy milk a try. For some reason, I thought most brands had gluten... Guess I was wrong. Do any of you know of any gluten-free soy cheeses?
  7. I'd like to see him try! I can't believe that! I find it hard to think that he is serious. I mean do some research before you go assussing and threatening inocent people.
  8. Does anyone know of any gluten free soy milk products? I know that So Good soy products are gluten free but I'm not sure if they carry these products where I live. Thanks!
  9. I don't have an answer, but if the baby is continuously in discomfort from gas, then celiac is a possibility. Are there any other signs? like diarrehea, bloating, irritability, extreame fatigue? It might be good to look at what he is eating... maybe there is gluten in his formula? is he eating baby food with gluten? If there appears to be gluten in his...
  10. I know what you mean, I get these werid cravings all the time (I didn't get them before going gluten-free) and hardley anything seems to satisfy them. However, I do find that French fries help me and Thai Kitchen Spring Onion Rice Noodle Soup. I eat Cavendish straight cut fries with Heinz ketchup and Heinz white vinegar. Whenever I get a craving I pop those...
  11. lurk... that is such a funny word when you think about it
  12. I think that fancier places would be more accommodating and careful about making food gluten free. Some of the fancier places I have been have already had celiacs come to their resturants, so they were already familiar with the precations. At restaurants, I just say "I am celiac and no bread or gluten can touch my food or I will get very sick". I ask for...
  13. That's crazy! there are a lot of people that don't post!
  14. I wouldn't personnaly go out and buy one but I think they could be useful in restaurants. A bracelet may make the waitor/waitress pay more attention to making sure your food is gluten free.
  15. That exactely how I feel! When I first found out I had celiac disease for sure, I said well it could have been a lot worse, like cancer or something. I am actually thankful that it wasn't anything extrememly serious. I'm not perfect though, I do feel sorry for myself somethimes and wish that I could go and order a hudge pizza and indulge! but I just...
  16. Thanks for you replies! I'll post another one... - 1 cup cooked chicken/turkey/fish - 2 tablespoons (add more if necessary) Miracle Whip Mayonnaise (Kraft will clearly indicate gluten) - 1/2 cup chopped celery - dash of pepper (McCormick will clearly indicate gluten) - You favorite gluten-free bread (Try Kinnikinick Italian white bread) - Shredded...
  17. I eat Kinnikinick Italian bread, Glutino Corn bread, and Sterk's Italian white, and Sandwich bread. They all are excellent toasted! I make lots toasted sandwich's! I find that the bread is really dry if it isn't toasted.
  18. The gluten free gourmet: Cooks Fast and Healthy by Better Hagman has a lot of gluten free bread machine recipes. She has all different kinds of bread like lunch bread, cranberry-pecan, cinnamon-raisin-nut, seame bean, orange bean...
  19. Some of the gluten free cook books give very good recipes for bread machines. The cookbooks don't cost very much and they are extremely useful. I found most of mine in my local bookstore.
  20. Will he eat pasta sauce, pizza sauce, or tomato soup? Those are all great sources of tomatoes and they are "disguised". Tinkyada rice noodles and Ragu sauce are really good. If he will eat tomato sauce then you are all set! You can make spaggetti, lasagna, pizza, chili, casseroles... Try using a blender or a food processor to "disguise" fruits and veggies...
  21. I thought this would be fun... I love trying new recipes and I thought that this would be a good way to share and find new recipes! This recipe is one of my favorites... It is so good! It would be great for those of you that miss chinese food. I kind of modified it a lot to suit my tastes and I don't usually measue veggies I just pile them in! I'll call it...
  22. I've never reacted to frozen Amy dinners, however, I have reacted to their gluten-free canned soups.
  23. Welcome! Try these cereals by Envirokidz Open Original Shared Link EnviroKidz Organic Peanut Butter Panda Puffs and Gorilla Munch Cereals are gluten free and taste good! The Crispy Rice Bars, Berry are also good. You can proabably find them in the health food section of your local grocery store, or in a health food store. Good luck!
  24. Don't deprive yourself of all dressing! Most Kraft dressings are gluten free... You just have to read the labels. Thankfully, Kraft will clearly indicate gluten on their labels. Also you could be temporarily lactose intolerant. This is common in newly diagnosed celiacs, and many recover from it once their intestines heal.
  25. Welcome! I'm glad you found this site! This is a great place with a lot of helpful and friendly people! Were the chicken breasts plain (no breading), and did you check the ranch dressing for hidden gluten? If the dressing is Kraft, they will clearly indicate gluten on the label. Also, maybe your food got contaminated? Was the counter wiped...
