  1. Thanks celiac3270! I'll try that out! BTW... I think that your idea is great! I think it would really help newbies that aren't sure how to use this site and don't know about the search option.
  2. One place recommended by the Canadian Celiac Association Charlottetown Chapter is the Home Place Inn & Restaurant in Kensington, PEI. I have never eaten there but apparently they will make gluten free meals, however, I think you have to call in advance and tell them that you need a gluten-free meal. I plan on eating there this summer. Open Original...
  3. I use the search option sometimes before I post to make sure the topic has not been done before and I also use it to find out info. However, sometimes I find that the "search" finds irrelavant topics or brings up too much info.
  4. I use Kraft and Skippy. Is Skippy peanut butter gluten-free? Yes, all varieties of Skippy peanut butter, Roasted Honey Nut, and Reduced Fat peanut butter spread are gluten-free. Open Original Shared Link Kraft will clearly indicate gluten on the ingredient list.
  5. This list says that it is, however, the "Mott's" part of the list was last updated about 11 months ago: Open Original Shared Link Mott's (800 426-4891) all apple juices (6/04); not Clamato (4/04)
  6. Father's side: Scottish, Irish, English Mother's side: Norwegian, Irish, English The celiac gene is passed from my mothers side of the family since her mother has it. My grandmother's origian is mostly English. I also have very fair skin, blue eyes (except I have one fairly large brown spot in my right eye), and dark blond hair.
  7. I consider myself a partial vegetarian. I eat some "terrestrial" meat, but usually only on special occasions, so like once a month or so (sometimes not even that often). The only meat I will eat on a regualr basis is fish. I also stay away from dairy due to my lactose intolerance. I am also very interested in eating healthy to prevent serious health problems...

  10. I'm just about 5'7, but I believe that I didn't get celiac until after my growth spurt.
  11. I've had issues with their gluten-free canned soups but I don't remember getting sick from their frozen meals.
  12. I'm not sure if seasonal allergies are related to celiac or not. However, my last allergy test results (before going gluten free) indicated that I was allergic to every pollen that they tested! That's crazy! It will be interesting to see if my allergies are less annoying now that I have been gluten free for awhile.
  13. What is the brand name? If it is Kraft it would be ok. If not, I would be concerned with "vinegar and caramel color". Those may contain hidden gluten if I remember correctly.

  19. Danone cannot guarantee all of their products to be gluten free Open Original Shared Link What yogurt products are gluten-free? I'm trying to find out for my grandmother who just got diagnosed. I'm lactose intolerant so I wouldn't now.

  21. I was just wondering if anyone has any good gluten-free pancake recipes? Thanks for your help!
  22. Hey, my grandmother just found out on Monday that she has celiac disease. I am currently helping her get ready for the gluten free diet, which she will start this week.
