  1. ummm cheesecake... looks good, too bad I'm lactose intolerant. grrr
  2. If you're in Canada then yes, this may have happened. Unfourtunately. But to my knowledge, US brands have to indicate if gluten is present in maltodextrin.
  3. that is too funny Some of the faces are hilarious like this one and this one
  4. probably between 1 day and 2 weeks??? depending on the amount and the person.
  5. Thanks celiac3270, that was interesting, I have a book by her and I really enjoy it!
  6. Like foods extrememly high in saturated fats like fast food burgers and gressy pizza's.
  7. That is a philosophy question... What is normal. I certainly don't feel normal... but I am still getting sick everyday, so that may have something to do with it... I am bitter today so bear with me. But with regards to the diet.... I do find that I have to put a lot more energy and effort into eating and planning meals than I used to... But it's a lifestyle...
  8. I was writing the response really quickly and wasn't paying attention to what I was typing... later I noticed what I did...
  9. Hi, I have been gluten-free for over a year now and I am still suffering from chronic annoying diarrehea. I have been told that I have IBS in addition to Celiac... How fun I am also being tested for a few other things as well such as pancreatic insufficiency and diabetes... It is important to make sure all your food/products are 100% gluten free and...
  10. I think that frozen bread tastes good when it is toasted. Oops I just relized that I had frozen where toasted is in bold. You guys probably thought I was crazy
  11. My local health food store actually carries Sterk's products and I have been very impressed with them. They have awesome products and they use vacuum packaging (no freezing!). My favorites have been the pizza crusts and the Sandwich bread! YUM!
  12. Thanks celiac3270! That's very nice of you! It would sure be nice if we could all make it to an event like this... It would be like a Celiac.com reunion
  13. Oh wow... that sounds like fun! I'd love to go but I am insanely busy for the next 3 weeks Hopefully, I can make it to the next event! For those that do go, let us know how it went!
  14. Yeah definately get tested for celiac and if you can... try and get your diagnosis records from when you were a baby. I actually have a friend who was "diagnosed" with celiac disease as a baby and he went through about 60% of his life on a strict gluten-free diet. Just recently, he found out that he was never offically tested as a baby (no blood test...
  15. That article is awesome! Now if only every GP and GI doctor could read it....
  16. If you are lactose intolerant (which is common in celiacs)... There are different levels of lactose in different foods. I think milk has the highest amount of lactose, I had a list once from my GI doc telling me which dairy products have the most lactose, I think I lost it though. Lactaid may help, although it doesn't work for me, even in the highest doses...
  17. I have a few ideas: plain rice cakes and peanut butter gluten-free sandwich's with gluten free bread (Sterk's bread is my favorite) - peanut butter - tuna - egg - chicken/turkey grapes and chedder cheese salad with dressing (kraft will list gluten on their ingredient list) gluten free boost (chocolate is my favorite) baby carrotes...
  18. I would definately tell your doctor about your symptoms. I have read that if you continue to have symptoms after 6 months of being gluten-free, then you should contact your doctor to make sure nothing else is going on. Hope you feel better soon!
  19. I get mild to severe pain in my upper abdominal region (just about where the stomach is). I have been gluten free for a year and this symtom just started about 3 months ago. My GI doc says I have IBS (in addition to celiac) which causes pain in that area. However, I am also being tested for diabetes and pancreatic insufficiency (pancreatitis) which can also...
  20. I think you are right... I have recently noticed that Jello upsets my stomach... so it must be the artificial sweetner.
  21. I am currently going through the same thing, I'm always hungrey and lately nothing seems to make the hunger go away for a significant amount of time. My doctor thought I should be tested for diabetes. I'm also experienceing other symtoms in addition to this though (too many to list right now!).
  22. I only eat Jello made by Kraft because like celiac3270 said, they will clearly indicate gluten on the ingredient list if it is present. I wouldn't trust those cheaper brands unless you (or someone else) called the company to make sure they are ok.
  23. I'm still not 100% sure on the whole curing celiac disease thing... It says this right on their website Open Original Shared Link and I'm almost postive I read in the book that it cures celiac. Now the question here is... Does "cure" mean that a person on the diet still had celiac disease and is just symptom free? or does it actually mean that...
  24. I have read most of this book and I think that if you are willing to put the time and energy into the diet than it will probably be worth it. I have read many succuss stories. I am sure that the diet relieves symptoms in most individuals suffering from celiac, chron's, colitis... However, beware of their claim that it cures celiac disease. I have posted on...
  25. I have two phone numbers: 1-506-882-2211 1-866-718-8800 It's not far from Moncton.
