  1. I find that Tinkyada brown rice pasta is very filling and it isn't that expensive. I eat this pasta with Ragu sauce all the time (My personal favorite is Herbed Tomato & Wine). ummmmmmmmmm Chili is also very filling. Here is a recipe: Hamburger Heinz beans in tomato sauce Heinz Chili style red kidney beans Heinz Tomato Sauce McCormick...
  2. 2006! wow that's soon Thanks for the link
  3. Yes I try not to watch scary tv shows or movies about ghosts or the spiritual world. They freak me right out. The funny thing is I can watch zombie movies like Dawn/Shawn of the Dead or other horror movies like Army of Darkness and find them funny but if I saw a movie like The Ring or any one of those type of horror movies then I'd be freaked...
  4. I know this old but I just had to inform you guys. I just got some info from Humpty Dumpty and as of July 2004 this is what I have "Products are manufactured on the same line as products containing gluten and cleaning procedures are in place to prevent cross-contamination" I'm not eating any of their products anymore.
  5. I don't think anyone has mentioned this yet, but you MUST be consuming gluten for your tests or else the results may be false negative (if you have celiac disease). If you want medical tests done then don't start the diet until after the tests. Just a heads up
  6. There is Dermatitis Herpetiformis which is a horrible rash that develops on the skin when gluten is injested. This is related to celiac disease and most people with DH have intestinal damage as well. You can also have gluten intolerance or wheat allergy and not have celiac disease. I don't think there are any others though
  7. Good luck with everything!

    ARCHIVED Scare Tactics

I'm assuming that this is directed towards me... Yes, unfourtunatley I am still getting sick and feeling sick after one year of being gluten free. I believe that there is something else wrong with me though and I am going to see my GI tommorrow to talk about it.

    ARCHIVED Scare Tactics

Who knows why some doctors act the way they do and why some are so ignorant to the obvious. Doctors are human and I think sometimes they get so busy with their jobs that they sometimes fail to investigate further when they should. I know people who have had cancer and the doctors either told them there was nothing wrong with them or that it was just allergies...
  10. Thanks! I really appreciate your replies
  11. This is something that I have always wondered... I think that if ANY of us are reacting to a product then it would be wise to stay away from that product. For example, if lays chips are causing reactions in the super sensitve then that would mean that there are traces of gluten on the chips... right? So wouldn't that mean that every celiac who ate them...
  12. Welcome! We are always here to help! Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions or need any meal ideas!
  13. Maybe you should start looking for another doctor... maybe someone that will test you. It seems like your current doctor isn't much help. I can't tell you what to do but if I were in your situation, I would find another doctor or keep bugging my current doctor until he listens. From my experience (I live in Canada) it takes awhile to get in to a GI...
  14. I know it's not homemade but a lot of the Kraft Salad dressings are gluten free. Kraft is one of those companies that will clearly list gluten on their ingredient lists. Open Original Shared Link
  15. I think you should definately ask your doctor to get those outbreaks biopsied just to be sure. Good luck
  16. I actually take food with me on my carry-on bag and eat it whenever I get hungrey. You could easily pack some things like gluten free bread, rice cakes, and gluten free bagels.
  17. I also have a problem with gagging but I'm not sure if it has something to do with gluten contamination or something else altogether.
  18. I think you have the symptoms and the signs of a gluten intolerance/wheat allergy/celiac disease. That is horrible... I mean he did a colonoscopy, MRI's and an upper GI... The least he could do would be an endoscopy and biopsy of the small intestine. Or at least give you a celiac blood test.
  19. I am thinking of eating at Swiss Chalet for my birthday next week and I haven't eaten at a restaurant in a very long time so I am kind of nervous. Has anyone ever got gluten contamination from Swiss Chalet before?
  20. Here is the Swiss Chalet gluten free options: Open Original Shared Link The list is on the second page and you will have to zoom it to read. The list is under Wheat and Gluten. It looks like there are quite a few options! I ate here once since I have been gluten free and I didn't get sick. Just wanted to share!
  21. Where do you guys find this information?
  22. That is really sad..... I think that if you feel better without gluten you should stay gluten free. Just tell people that when you eat gluten you get very sick. That's your business not theirs.
  23. I have a lot of my own cooking utenstils and the utensils that I share, I re-wash until they are absolutely spotless. I have also checked all my meds and they are fine. For toiletries, I read ingredients for shampoo, conditioner, face wash, and sunscreen (I hardley ever wear make-up). I never thought of laundry detergent... can it really cause a reaction...
  24. Try not to get discouraged. Keep your head high You're not alone. Personally, I know what it is like to feel sick ALL the time. I have been gluten-free for about 1 year now and I am still sick! I have to reserve about 30 minutes every morning for getting sick, most mornings I cannot leave the bathroom until my intestines are completely empty. Also...
