  1. There has been a lot of people on this site lately, more than usual (Which is a good thing!). Maybe there was just too many people trying to log on or trying to download the page.
  2. I found that I learned almost everything on my own or from the people on this site. I went out and bought gluten-free cookbooks and used the google search engine like crazy. Then I found this web site and I find out most of my info from here.
  3. If she has actually been gluten free for 20 years, I would say that maybe she has an allergy to rice? But if she just recently found out that she has had celiac for 20 years and has just started the gluten-free diet, I would say she may just need more time to heal and recover.
  4. I buy Sterk's Italian Pizza Crust and make my own pizza at home. This pizza crust is really good! I buy it at a health food store. Open Original Shared Link

  8. The only chips I eat are Humpty Dumpty Corn Chips. I eat them all the time with Old EL Paso salsa and I have never reacted to either. I have never reacted to Humpty Dumpty Salt and Vinegar or Humpty Dumpty Ketchup but I haven't had those in months (Just a healthy choice I guess!)
  9. I used to eat lays but I got into a few bad batch which obviously had gluten and got really sick. I don't trust them so I don't eat them! Lays = Blah
  10. The mono may have triggered your symptoms IF you have celiac.
  11. Yes they are fine Open Original Shared Link Maybe you're reacting to the milk in your cereal. Lactose intoleracne is common in celiacs, try drinking lactaid or lacteeze milk.
  12. You should ask your doctor to get tested for celiac before taking gluten out of your diet. If you have anemia with no blood in the stool (or anywhere else) and if you are injesting enough iron in your diet, then that is a red flag for celic. I have a friend with celiac whose only symptoms were amemia and fatigue.
  13. In my opinion, Sterk's Sandwich Bread is THE best gluten free bread that I have ever had AND i have tried most of the others including homemade. Sterk's Sandwich Bread is the closest to "real" wheat bread Sterk's also makes yummy bagels, pizza crusts, hamburger buns, hotdog buns, sponge cakes, and many different flavoured breads. 14. That's great news Karen! This means that in a few years (hopefully if the funding is good for these guys) we will know if there is a cure or a treatment plan for celiac!
  15. I can't vote because I still don't feel better
  16. Karen this is such a great list... I use the Shake' n Bake barbeque chicken claze and and Spicy BBQ chicken wings glaze on my chicken a lot. MMMMMMMMMMM. I also eat the gluten-free salad dressings and the Jell-O. The gel snacks rock YUM!
  17. Right now I take at least one of these once daily: Jamieson Mega Cal: High Absorption Calcium: Calcium Magnesium Jamieson: Vitamin D Centrum Forte: High Potency Multivitamin I plan on taking digestive enzymes in the near future.
  18. My mom has almost all of these symptoms, it was like I was reading soemthing she wrote about herself. She has been to the doctor and had just been tested for lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, celiac disease, and lyme disease. These are all the things HER doctor thought it could be. My advice: If you absolutely cannot afford to get testing done, and if the...
  19. Thanks everyone for your info! This is great... I am thinking about taking enzymes and was wondering which ones to take and if they work. Thank you
  20. You should get your doctor to look at it to make sure it's not DH (Dermatitis Herpetiformis). DH is asscoiated with celiac disease. Open Original Shared Link
  21. I was just wondering if anyone takes enzymes to help with digestion and if so which ones? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  22. Check the soy sauce label for gluten (other than wheat), that could be your problem. Also investigate any new foods or products you may have had/used in the last week for hidden gluten. Like lotions, toothpastes, shampoos, conditioners, suncreens, lip gloss/stick, ect. If everything seems clear, than maybe get tested for an intolerence to soy...? Or...
  23. wow... lucky celiacs that live in New York! So many options!
  24. Make sure there is no hidden glutens in your pickels like "modified food starch" for example. And also check to see if the vinegar has malt in it. Malt vinegar = barely = gluten =
  25. As far as I know, all flavours of boost are gluten and lactose free except chocolate malt which is only lactose free. I am unsure if boost or certain kinds of boost are soy free. Boost also has vitamin D, but only like 25% or so of your daily intake.
