  1. I didn't realize that the interviews would be this week! I hope I get to see it! I may stop at that store in Canmore! Has anyone had CC issues with Split. I haven't and I've eaten there a few times.
  2. Cooking for holidays can be a stressful and busy procedure. Last week-end, I cooked for thanksgiving dinner here in Canada. Over the weekend I cooked two chickens, a pot roast, two apple crisps, and lots of vegetables! Here is a link to some of my recipes: Open Original Shared Link
  3. I'm going to to try and remember what I did. I made this today and it was very yummy. Rock Soup Extra lean hambuger (1 smallish package) about 7-8 cups of water 1/4 cup white vinegar 1/2 cup of rice vegetables whatever you can find... This is what I found: 2 garlic cloves, minced 1 onion, diced 2-3 cups of baby carrots, bite size ...
  4. I think that an intestinal biopsy should be complemented by a celiac disease blood test or tests. There are also other tests that could be done such as the celiac disease gene test and the fecal fat test. My above quote is on page 41 of the book.
  5. It was very good! My favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner this year! I highly recommend it!
  6. It' still October 9th where I am, I guess I'll have to wait and see. Happy Birthday
  7. My body is trying to force me on the paleo diet as well (read my signature). Out of my allergies, I still eat blueberries and regular potatoes (sweet potatoes seem to be the problem). I get depressed about it, but I always find ways to make things that I want using safe ingredients. I have a list of recipes in the recipe section.
  8. According to the book, "Breaking the Vicious Cycle" by Elaine Gottschall, "The flattened or blunted intestinal surface has been reported in innumerable disease states: infectious heptitis, ulcerative colitis, parasitic infections of the intestine including various types of worms and one-celled parasites, kwashiorkor, soy protein intolerance, intolerance...

Stir often to avoid burning.
  11. A lot of people don't start feeling better until 3-4 months on the gluten-free diet. When I was really ill with celiac disease, almost any food made me sick. You are doing the right thing by eating foods that are easy to digest. Try staying away from complex carbohydrates like potatoes and try avoiding dairy products for a while. Try eating lots of protein...
  12. Gluten free should mean no gluten at all. Some of us will react to small amounts. I will be so disappoited if there is a law that allows some gluten in gluten free foods. I've heard that a lot of gluten-free products in Europe contain small amounts of gluten. And what about people with wheat allergies? I bet that they wouldn't allow a small amount of...
  13. What brand of korma curry paste do you use?
  14. Thank you. Those sound tasty And you really seem to know how to cook them. I probably would have burned them, but now I will be more careful. I may cook mine in the oven (since I don't have a BBQ). I've never heard of Pico-Pica. Is it a salsa?
  15. She may just not want to eat because she may associate food with feeling sick. When I was really sick with celiac disease all food seemed to make me sick. I would get explosive gas, bloating, and major D from almost anything I ate. I used to have major D almost every morning and I would usually feel ok stomach wise until I started eating again. I suggest...
  16. Oh wow that is cold! Those wings must be good! What do you put on them?
  17. Welcome I've read that all first degree relatives should be tested for celiac disease. The Tissue Transglutamase blood test (tTg) is highly specific for celiac disease. However, you need to be eating gluten in order to avoid false negative results. I believe that stress may have triggered or worsened my celiac disease. You can make almost...
  18. I suggest eating protein to help with the hunger. Are you a vegetarian? Salmon and other fish are really good choices. Try to balance your protein and try not to eat the same foods all the time.
  19. Jamieson vitamins indicate if they are gluten-free right on the bottle. Open Original Shared Link I use Thermasilk shampoo with no problems. I've also heard that Dove will clearly indicate gluten on their ingredient lists.
  20. I'll have to try that! How long do they take in the oven?
  21. 22. I own a 1997 Camery and it is a wonderful car. I've made a trip across Canada with it and it was fine (PEI to Alberta).
  23. I am really glad that you shared that. I am wondering if my reaction was from a combination of being exposed to wheat and milk. I was having breathing problems the week leading up to the reaction and I now know that I was eating large amounts of gluten contaminated chips that entire week. I started unknowinly eating dairy contaminated chips a few days before...
  24. I totally understand! Sometimes I cook large meals like a chicken or a roast and make up little dinners and eat them for a few days. Then I get a break from cooking. Here are some recipes that I use: Open Original Shared Link
