  1. Thanks everyone for the compliments Stephanie, I'll pray that everything goes well.
  2. We all make mistakes, how is she doing? I try and label everything as gluten-free. I have "The gluten-free toaster" on my toaster.
  3. I grew up on PEI and it is a beautiful place. I highly recommend going there for a vacation in late July/early August and going to the beaches. They are gorgeous.
  4. I'll be the Rachelville visitor I couldn't keep up with these posts! I tried... but there were so many!
  5. I tested negative for milk allergy on the skin prick test and positive for milk allergy on the blood test. However, I tested positive for wheat allergy on the skin prick test and negative on the blood test! Go Figure! Anyway... one of the allergic reactions has gotten progressively worse overtime and I am going back for re-testing. If he had high levels on...
  6. That's great news Congratulations!
  7. Really? Well that explains a lot.
  8. Maybe those candies do have trace amounts of gluten in them. There are foods that I react to like Maple Leaf All Beef Hot Dogs and Butterball products and others don't. I would contact the companies of the products that make you sick and ask if there is any risk of cross contamination. Then you will know for sure.
  9. Meat can still taste good without BBQ sauce. Try cooking or roasting meat in herbs, spices or mustard! Try this: chicken cut in strips 1-2 cups of water 2 tablespoons oil 2 tablespoons mustard 1 tablespoon parsley pepper Cook chicken in water until done. Remove access water. Add other ingredients to chicken, mix and cook on medium heat for a few...
  10. My advice is to eat less carbohydrates (rice, potatoes, corn) and more vegetables and lean protein.
  11. Skittles! Maybe the high sugar content is upsetting your stomach? If you have recently started the gluten-free diet, foods high in lactose, carbohydrates, and sugar may upset your stomach until your villi heal.
  12. Congratulations And welcome to the board!
  13. I believe my celiac disease reactions to ingesting gluten after going gluten-free are: brain fog anxiety nervousness paranoia fatigue insomnia constipation, then diarrhea floating stools gas weight loss stomach pain (only sometimes) When I eat wheat, I seem to get celiac disease reactions and wheat allergy reactions so I find it hard to differentiate...
  14. Yes, make sure you always read ingredients for wheat, barely, rye, and oats.
  15. I am now 25 and I was diagnosed in March 2004 (2.5 years).
  16. My recipes on this thread are gluten and casein free: Open Original Shared Link
  17. I have dreams where I am eating gluten! And I ask myself "what are you doing!"
  18. I wish I could change the Food Guide. I'd make some major adjustments
  19. A lot of people with celiac disease have temporary lactose intolerance until their villi heal. The enymes which break down lactose are located in the tips of the villi, so when they are damaged, lactose doesn't get digested properly and stomach problems usually occur. Milk allergy is different from lactose intolerance and can be tested for by a skin prick...
  20. Try out some of these recipes: Open Original Shared Link
  21. I use McCormick. They will clearly indicate gluten in their ingredient lists.
  22. No problem I actually posted after I noticed your post I haven't been posting for awhile since I was away getting married on PEI last week!
  23. I love roast! The link didn't work for me though
  24. Up to 3 layers are sometimes required I usually squat when someone has peed a lot on the seat. I'll lift up the toilet seat with toliet paper.
  25. The chips were Humpty Dumpty and when I stoped eating them I started feeling better, those chips were gluten contaminated (Lays chips also bother me, but I think it is dairy contamination). I actually haven't gone yeast free for any extended period of time. My skin prick reaction was very low (only 1 star). After the 6 month mark, I still got episodes...
