  1. I eat the Original Mrs. Dash all the time and I haven't noticed any problems.
  2. Orville Redenbacher should be gluten-free. I eat their natural popcorn with soy oil and haven't noticed any problems.
  3. I haven't noticed a problem with skittles. Always check the ingredients though just in case. I've had the red, purple, and orange colored bags. Purple is my favorite
  4. The popcorn may have contained gluten, and/or it may have been contaminated. Did you put seasonings or extra butter on the popcorn? Where they making any other food that may contain gluten? Also, are you lactose intolerant? Maybe the butter was an issue. The best thing to do is maybe call and ask the brand of popcorn they use, determine if it's safe...
  5. Has anyone heard from the Tropical Source company my phone or email that the chocolates are produced on dedicated dairy free and gluten free lines? What I read and posted was on the internet.
  6. Did you get this information from the company? I had these chocolates last week and really enjoyed them and would like to be able to eat them and not get sick, but I want to make sure that they are 100% gluten and dairy free. I found this statement on this site: "These bars and baking chips are manufactured in one of the only chocolate factories in the world...
  7. Wow... you would think they would be more understanding and sympathetic.
  8. I guess both systems have their flaws and benefits. I just don't know much about the US health care system.
  9. That's horrible! Are you in Saskatchewan?
  10. Really? I didn't know that the US ER's had long waits.
  11. That's interesting, I knew that even if they did blood allergy testing that my levels would be off becasue of the drugs. So it's probably better that they didn't test. I'm just hoping that things will calm down long enough so I can get allergy testing done. Yeah, it's not the doctors or nurses fault at all, I'm sure they would speed up the process if...
  12. Oh yes, and I would also like to add that when I was in the ER they sent a nurse in with a sandwich and milk to give to me so I could take prednisone! Ah! The doctor knew I had celiac disease and a milk allergy. I don't think that there was much communication between the doctor and that nurse!
  13. I am eating safe foods that I know have never caused me problems in the past. My diet has been sort of blah, but like you said better safe than sorry. I'm trying to keep everything interesting though. I'm not eating the new foods that I had before the reaction, no way! I am also staying away from everything that may have come in contact with milk since milk...
  14. Waiting times in the ER here in Canada can be ridiculous, like 4-6 hours! And once you get in, they treat the problem as best as they can, check a few things, and then send you on your way. When I was in the ER last week, I was told that they can't do allergy testing to tell me what I am for sure reacting to. I was disheartened, all I wanted to know is what...
  15. Thanks for your help. I wish that there was an easy way to tell what is causing these reactions.
  16. I was wondering if anyone knew how long allergic reactions can last? I just had a mild reaction tonight and I'm pretty sure that I had no milk, wheat, or yeast. I am on prednisone and once I took Benedryl, I felt better within an hour or so. I am afraid that when my prednisone runs out that I will get worse. Also, does anyone know if people can get allergic...
  17. Lisa, I'm sorry that you are not having much luck with the ER doctors and that you haven't been well. One good thing is that you got a colonoscopy. Just make sure that you are sedated for that. I had a colonoscopy and I was partially sedated and could feel everything.
  18. Thanks for your help. I'm getting married on August 19!
  19. Thanks. Do you think environmental reactions can cause throat swelling? Or is it just foods that cause that? Sorry for all the questions, but I can't seem to find answers. The corn chips I ate were contaminated with dairy. I will have to watch tomatoes and nuts too.
  20. I think this is the longest thread yet I just kind of jumped in.
  21. Thanks for explaining Rachel. I was just hoping that may help. My most recent food allergy test (blood test) only tested positive for milk allergy, but I have tested positive to wheat and yeast allergy on a skin prick test. I just got all my results from the past faxed to me this week from my doctors office. It seems as though I reacted to dairy, but I have...
  22. I got that during an allergic reaction.
  23. That's very interesting. The doctor at the emergency room said that I was having a histamine reaction. Maybe that diet will help? Rachel, do you ever get throat swelling?
