  2. I recommend Tinkyada, Kinnininnick, and Sterk's.
  3. I had joint pain before I went on the gluten-free diet and it cleared up within 4-5 months on the diet. The pain was in my knees, hips, and ankles. I would have trouble walking sometimes. Very rarely have I had the pain since going gluten free and I'm assuming the pain probably is related to gluten accidents.
  4. Taking them to work is a great idea. I've done that a few times. When I have smoothies in the morning I'm hardly even hungrey by lunch time!
  5. If you're getting hungrey too quickly, maybe try having a big breakfast. You could have eggs, gluten-free toast, and a piece of fruit. Also, I find that fruit smoothies keep me full for a while. Here is my recipe for a fruit smoothie: 1 cup of frozen blueberries (or 1 1/2 cups of frozen raspberries) 1 1/4 cups of So Good Vanilla soy milk 2 tablespoons...
  6. I started getting really sick in October 2003 and I was diagnosed in March 2004.
  7. Try Kinnikinnick all purpose mix. Open Original Shared Link
  8. I'm reading the book now and I think that it's great! I would highly recommend it to anyone. I pretty much follow the diet anyway since I am gluten and dairy free, but I do eat a lot of rice. I am thinking of following the diet more closely when I move away and have my own kitchen.
  9. That was very interesting! Great information! Do you mind posting the references? I am quite interested in this. Thanks.
  10. For breakfast: hard boiled eggs, fruit salad, omelettes (green pepper, red pepper, onion, and garlic with eggs). For lunch: Salads with tuna or salmon, leftovers from dinner, chicken soup, chili, stir fries, stew, ect.
  11. I had the options of having the biopsy done with or without sedation. I opted for partial sedation, so I might as well have had no sedation at all! The procedure didn't hurt, but I gagged a lot. They sprayed a "numbing spray" on my throat to help.
  12. Your symptoms are typical of celiac disease. Make sure that you continue eating gluten for all of your testing or else you could get false negative results. Here are the names of the blood tests that you can have done: Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgA Anti-Gliadin (AGA) IgG Anti-Endomysial (EMA) IgA Anti-Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA Total Serum IgA...
  13. Scottish, Irish, English, and Norwegian.
  14. To my knowlege, all wines should be gluten free. Light rums should ok, but I've heard that gluten can be added to dark rums. Beer is definatley out of the question. Any other alcohol you should contact the company since most other alcohols are usually made from gluten. Some people can have hard liquor made from gluten because the distilling process eliminates...

  16. So Nice makes a gluten free egg nog.
  17. I didn't know that! I guess that I should be careful then.
  18. I've had wine with no problems and I am super sensitive to gluten.
  19. Thanks! I've been wanting to try Thermasilk for a while now, but I wasn't sure if it was gluten free.
  20. lol I know! I also see people wearing t-shirts or just sweaters in extreme cold weather. One thing that I don't understand are the girls who dress all fashionable, like super thin winter coats, skin tight jeans, high heal boots, ect..., when it is about -30 outside with the windchill. I'd probably be cold in those outfits in the fall when it's +10.

  24. You may just need more time to heal before you notice results. I was sick for about 6 months on the gluten free idet before I starteded noticing improvements. In the meantime, you may want to try eating foods that are easy on your stomach. So try and avoid eating foods that may be harder to digest like potatoes, dairy, soy, ect.
