  1. I had both done, but not at the same time. Please ask to be put OUT 100%. I was not put 100% out for mine. At the hosptial I go to, people frequently get the endoscopy done with no sedation at all. When I went in, they weren't even going to give me any I'm like, can I please have some? So they gave me a little, however, I was fully awake for the...
  2. If you were eating gluten free or even slightly gluten-free before the blood tests, then your results could be false negative. If gluten is making you that sick and it would be devastating to go back on gluten again to get tests done, then maybe you should go 100% on the diet. If you want to see results on the diet, you must check for gluten in everything...
  3. I think it was me I have reactions to lays chips (just the plain ones) and I'm assuming it's dairy contamination since so many people with celiac here eat them with no problems.
  4. I have had the skin prick test done, and I tested positive for a lot of things; dogs, cats, every pollen on the test (lol), dust, one type of mold, dust mites, wheat, and yeast. I was also told that the higher the number, the more you were allergic to it, or something like that. I believe that I had a high rating for wheat allergy (I believe it was a 3) and...
  5. Thanks for posting that It seems like they went to a lot of trouble to answer your question. I guess only the fragrance free products with no gluten listed are the only 100% safe ones.
  6. hmmmm... my list will include gluten and dairy since I can't have either (1) Pizza Delight pizza (2) British Korma Curry - from a restaurant (Churchill Arms) I used to eat at A LOT, I didn't check on this yet, but I'm pretty sure it would have gluten or dairy in it). (3) Donairs
  7. It is harder with more allergies, so I understand why you wouldn't want to eat out. I don't eat out that often, maybe once a month or so?
  8. Gluten makes me very sleepy, but I have a hard time going to sleep and I wake up a lot during the night. I think it's becasue gluten makes me very anxious for no reason... and no matter how tired I am, my body just has a hard time shutting itself down at night.
  9. I found some contact info. If you contacted these people, they should be able to help you: Open Original Shared Link https://www.celiac.com/st_prod.html?p_prodid=348 - they may be able to help in the other Afrian countries.
  10. I'm glad that you didn't get sick! I've eaten out lots of times without getting sick; however, there have been a few bad experiences . Now I just know which places to avoid
  11. I was dignosed by a positive tTg blood test and a positive biopsy.
  12. Maybe your son is reacting to something else in the pudding like dairy. Many people with celiac disease have trouble with dairy products and some of the symptoms are similar to celiac disease.
  13. Welcome! You should be able to order some gluten free items online, if you can't get them there. These foods are great, if they can ship them to you: Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Any of the gluten free products from Thai Kitchen Open Original Shared...
  14. Corn pops are not gluten free, please don't eat them
  15. I am also just starting to realize how important it is to get all family members tested. Since I've been diagnosed my grandmother found out she had celiac, just from being screened because I have it, she has had symptoms but the doctors have never thought to test her. My brother is highly suspected to have it as well since he is quite sick right now, he...
  16. I think Hunt's is a branch of Conagra Foods: Open Original Shared Link My info is from Canada though, so someone from the US should confirm it. Usually food in the US and Canada are the same and very rarely there are differences. I only know of two: Smarties and Lea and Perrins Worcester sauce.
  17. I think Swiss Miss is a Hunts Wesson Product, and they will clearly list gluten in their ingredients.
  18. Depression is a symptom of celiac, and she may feel like this, if she is getting gluten. The best thing to do is continue what you are doing and be very supportive. One thing I suggest, is to help her make cooking very easy and less stressfull. It is hard sometimes for me to get motivated to cook. My reason is because my family is not all gluten free and...
  19. Does anyone know of any other lotions that are gluten-free?
  20. Thanks for posting those Jen
  21. That's really sad
  22. Personally, I don't take the "bread" and just drink the "juice". However, my church is looking into buying gluten free communion bread, so people in the church with celiac disease can take the bread too.
  23. In this book I have called Breaking The Vicious Cycle, it says that "the flattened or blunted intestinal surface has been reported in innumerable disease states" this includes: infectious hepatitis, ulcerative colitis, parasitic infections, soy protein, cow's milk protein (casein), intractable diarrhea of infancy, chohn's disease, and bacterial overgrowth...
  24. When a person has celiac... any amount of gluten can cause intestinal damage and the person does not necessarily have to have symptoms or a "reaction" to get intestinal damage. When you start on a gluten free diet or if you're eating very low amounts of gluten, the number of antibodies to gluten in your blood would start to go down. This would mean that a...
  25. The best thing to do is to go out and get a gluten free recipe book and/or a book about celiac. I recommend Wheat Free Worry Free by Danna Corn. Also, a gluten free product list would come in handy. I have one if you want it... my e-mail is carriefj@hotmail.com and I can send it to you. I know the diet is hard and overwhealming at first, but once you get...
