  1. Lisa, I know for a fact that ice cream is REALLY bad for you! If you want a website check this Open Original Shared Linkout. It tells you all about dairy and what it does to your body. As far as your mom, it's really difficult because it probably doesn't look like you're getting better. I know my mom is having a hard time thinking and believing it...
  2. A couple of things...I have a friend who is 16 and she decided she wanted to go on a gluten-free diet because "I inspired her" and she took out all obvious sources and most hidden, then ate a hamburger with the bun and everything, and had a full blown asthma attack. She told me "I will NEVER eat another stupid hamburger bun!" Well, she did learn the hard...
  3. My LLMD's PA just called in a rx for anti-nausea meds!!!! Yahoooooooo!! Maybe I can actually eat something without misery...lol.
  4. Does anyone know if anesthesia is problematic for Lyme patients? I know the LLMD said that surgery can really stir things up, but I was wondering about an endo/colonoscopy? This is just my bored, Ive been in bed too long, brain kicking in....lol!
  5. Jackie, If you can, keep eating gluten...if you care about a "real" diagnosis. It will save you lots of trouble down the road if you get a diagnosis now. For me what happened was I got really sick my Primary Care Physician recommended the gluten-free diet and I started, the by the time I finally got to the GI dr. she now wants me to go back on gluten and...
  6. Julie, I smell of chlorine also after epsom salt baths, but I thought it was because stupid LA water smells BAD!! Does your water usually smell like chlorine? I think you are supposed to take charcoal 2 hours away from everything...food and meds/supps. I was taking it in the middle of the night for a while but I haven't since being under the care of...
  7. Andrea, I'm not even going to talk about Lyme if possible, so no, I'm not going to ask him to do the blood draw. I am thinking of going to the "Medical Wellness group" that I went to a while ago and having them do the lab draw. Dr. H said I could go to any walk-in clinic and have them do the blood draw since he ordered it. Paula, I know that your...
  8. Not only that, but Igenex needs the blood on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday because it's time sensitive. The 11th is a Friday, and that's exactly 3 weeks which is when they wanted me to do it...but I can't do it on a Friday. So, I may do it on the following Monday. Also, the Hematologists' office won't do a blood draw for me if it's not ordered by their office...
  9. I get my iron/ferritin tested on the 11th. The abx challenge test I go in for a blood draw on the 11th, well actually since that's a Friday I don't know if I can do that. I will have to find out what to do about that. You will find a good LLMD. I would suggest you go to Carla's LLMD. Even if it's 4 hours...that's not that bad. We drove 6 and I'm very...
  10. Does anyone know if it's possible for psyllium to constipate you?? I had been taking it 2x a day to make sure I didn't get C, but now I stopped it yesterday and I have gone to the bathroom more times since I stopped taking it! Hmm...my body is so strange. Either that or I got glutened, or my body is rejecting all food again!
  11. I hope I can say that soon! Well, I hope mine is higher than that! I think my Dr. will freak if it's only at 40 after 5 days of iron IV...lol!! About the anxiety, I think it's totally normal to have that about all of this stuff. I know I kinda still get nervous...'what if I don't respond properly to the abx?" "what if my abx challenge tests don't come...
  12. I think it tastes gross no matter what...lol! I really dislike lemon water.
  13. Did you also take probiotics while you were taking the abx? If not, you would have a MAJOR yeast overgrowth I would think. Also, I was only on the abx for 10 days, maybe 12...no it was 10. I took probiotics because otherwise the abx kill both the good and bad bacteria, so you need to make sure you replenish your intestines with the good stuff.
  14. There are some great mixes, etc. It would be a lot of fun....I babysit for lots of kids, one girl is 11 actually. These kinds of things get her really excited. Since I'm older, she thinks it's really cool I want to spend time with her.
  15. I have to agree with Morgan...it's pretty gross. LOL!!! Also, do you do it after you have had a BM or does it matter? I don't think that would matter. My LLMD's PA called me to remind me to drink lemon water to help with herxing. She said that I needed to drink it through a straw though because it can strip the enamel on your teeth, and that...
  16. Do you have a GI dr? Have you been tested for a Small Bowel (Intestinal) Bacterial Overgrowth? You may want to google that...my GI is convinced that is what's causing my bloating. The treatment is a course of antibiotics. I did that and it helped a little bit, but I also have a whole bunch of other stuff going on with me. Also, have you looked into...
  17. Thanks for the warning! I think it's ridiculous that they do that!!! Who needs flour in their eggs?!
  18. Is there any way you can maybe make a gluten free pizza with her or something? Just something to get her involved with your gluten free lifestyle so she doesn't feel so left out. Is your whole house gluten-free or mixed? If it's all gluten-free, I'd maybe try and make yummy gluten free treats WITH her so she feels a little more involved with this big change...
  19. I can't have soy, so I'm not much help as far as the good substitutes. Dairy and casein are kinda the same thing. Dairy is the whole category of foods and casein is specifically the protein in dairy foods. Does that make sense? You should cut out everything for a while and see what happens. I know it's hard to not have cheese, but you will get used...
  20. Denise, I am sorry, but I think that's just MEAN! And, uncalled for. Who cares if someone has Celiac or not? If we react negatively to gluten...why does it matter if we have an "official" diagnosis! Ack...I just think that was really mean and unnecessary.
  21. I didn't...lol! I actually had to drop out of school and now I do online school...so I can sit in bed with my laptop and do homework...well, in theory! LOL! Carla and Sherry swear by those coffee enemas...you could definitely try them. It may help get the toxins out of your body faster. HAHA! Look at what the computer does when you type C...
  22. I guess I don't have that problem because we have Tivo! Do you have any kind of DVR of sorts? If not, you could always but a DVD or two on Amazon for really cheap! I do my workout before I shower...why shower then get sweaty?! I think it's possible that you can already feel "funny" on the Candida diet...I did it reallllly strictly once for a day...
  23. I did kids pilates today. Keep in mind I have all kinds of back and hip problems. I only lasted for about 7 minutes today. I really actually don't like yoga at all...I too, get really bored with it! My LLMD told me to do BASIC "stretching" 2x a week because I am so weak. I bought a DVD from Target, but returned it because I remembered we have OnDemand...
  24. Donna, can you try olive oil with lemon juice and some "Jane's Krazy Mixed up Salt"? it's AMAZING! I now can do it with just salt, but that has more of a dressing flavor. it's just dehydrated spices with salt...it's really good! You should be able to get it at Whole Foods, or Gelsons (do you have them up there?)
  25. Donna, Yes...it's quite different giving them to yourself! LOL! I stare at the needle and then I stare at my butt and I kinda panic, but then I do it and it's fine! I actually really am starting to like them now...yesterday I was able to get A LOT done because of it. I now make my Tuesdays and Saturdays busier because I can plan on having energy...lol...
