Kassandra, I am so sorry to hear this. And major bummer about the steriods. Do your doctors talk to each other? Sherry -

Hi everyone, just caught up reading. Nice to see you back, Carla and April. I've finished 2 day of the SCD, feeling a bit better today than yesterday. I think I'm having some die-off symptoms that are uncomfortable but not horrible. Could also be the Vitamin D increase since that has caused some symptoms recently. Maybe my immune system is continuing... -

Yes, I'll look forward to hearing about Dr K., Julie. How is your diet going and are you still doing okay on the Vit D? My allergist told me yesterday that he had put about 150 patients on D3 over the past 8 months, and only had one that had any difficulty or intolerance. He said he has had to put a number of them on 10,000 daily to get their levels... -

Well, I've moved up my plans to start SCD. While trying to use up my carbohydrate stuff, potatos, ice cream, yam, cookies, I am feeling much worse again and nausea as well. Maybe my LLMD is right, this is the missing piece. So my chicken soup is simmering and my yogurt is culturing... Sherry -

Rachel that was fun to read the old times--for me who isn't an old-timer and is to overwhelmed to even think of reading the whole thing like Paula, LOL! Sherry -

I think the beef and peas qualify, LOL! Yeah, I have an overall sense of the diet from reading a bit on this forum and get the gist of it. I'm gearing up to start maybe by next week. I want to use up the potatos and yam I bought, LOL. My last fling.... Since I don't really have much abdominal symptoms I am figuring I'll go right up quickly but... -
Just curious, how your celiac was confirmed through genetics (I think it is only a genetic predisposition--that you "could" have celiac).. Regarding sleep, I am not sure I would go to a sleep clinic. My sleep issues have been hormonal and metabolic, and maybe infection related. If you are celiac, you could have some profound imbalances/deficiencies,...

Looking forward to that! Donna, sorry you are having to wait for your results, it must be very hard to have this all hanging. Lisa glad you have much such progress, and hope it will work for Rachel and April. I'm going to ask Dr. E to test it too. My allergist once told me, if it helps one person it is worth looking at. LOL about getting caught.... -

Took my first glutathione IM shot last night at bed time and after not sleeping well for 1-2 weeks, I slept like a rock for 10+ hours! Feel much better today! I must have really needed that! Sherry -

Rachel, that's the Rosmed test. The test results themselves just give a result for sugar level in the stool. My level is 1.62, and the norm is 0.0-0.5. The explanation mentions disaccharides, and my doctor mentioned needing to eliminate disaccharides. The SCD diet talks about disaccharides and polysaccharides because the body needs to break them down... -

Kassandra, this IS so scary. I am very very glad you are coming through it. I had a wild thought, had you started your Vitamin D supplements yet? The reason I asked is that since I started supplementing Vitamin D, my allergies have been really fluctuating. Not so scary like the attack you had, but my shots changing, etc. Feels like my immune system... -

Quick drive by, I'll write an email update later for my LLMD appointment. Biggest change is that I have to go on the SCD diet. The tests show that I cannot handle disaccharides at all. My LLMD thinks this will make quite a bit of difference in how I feel. Also he wants my 25 Vit D levels at 80, so I'm to take 10,000 a day and they'll do another blood... -

Quick drive by, I need to catch up, maybe tomorrow. Good news today--I picked up my Spectracell results this morning and they were WAY better than last January! I needed some input from the famous OMG detectives on my very very high RBC selenium and very very low something else that I can't remember because I just realized I left my copies of everything... -
ARCHIVED Can Anyone Tell Me What They Know About Enterolab Testing?
mftnchn replied to TammyK's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Enterolab does not claim to diagnose celiac; it does pick up gluten sensitivty and says that they can do so for up to a year after going gluten-free. Whether gluten sensitivity is a precursor to celiac is a matter of discussion. However, gluten sensitivity seems to occur for more reasons that just celiac. It is particularly hard to digest so if your gut... -

Welcome Carol. Yes we have quite a few here with Lyme though not all are treating that as a primary focus. I'm going to go look at the lyme thread, I've been very busy and haven't checked it lately. Sherry -

Yes, we can do our own little clinical trial here, lol! Glad you are doing well with it Julie. My impression is that it is slow to build up in the body so you might not notice anything fast, not sure. I know my LLMD said I need to check the levels in two months after increasing dose, but my allergist said earlier also gives a sense....so I am not sure... -

Belated Happy Birthday to you Julie! I'm pretty much keeping up with reading but have been really busy with lots of varied things. Two appointments this week that I need to prepare for, for sure I'll post what I find out. I seem to be doing okay without the zith and on the enula and andrographis, no really obvious herxes and just the usual symptoms... -

Rachel, according to my Rosmed results, I am in a similar situation to what you described. I am very low in the good bacteria, even though I have been taking probiotics with these "good guys" in them. I am also not digesting carbs, even with a special digestive enzyme for them. I am extremely low in bile acids as well. A few other things in there as well... -

Got some of my lab tests back today. The Rosemed (gut panel) is similar to last winter, some things better some things worse. PCR for babesia was negative. Vitamin D is improving, has just reached minimal levels according to the new standards. Carla, does your LLMD test for babesia or only go by symptoms? Sherry
