  1. I love Trader Joe's!!! Mine is about 45 minutes away, so we don't get there very often. Here's my list: Banana Waffles Pancakes Basmati Rice French Rolls Dark Chocolate covered Cherries Marinara Sauce Tropical Mix Granola
  2. Can you be specific about which brands of Nature Valley Bars are gluten free? The crunchy or soft? I was under the impression that since there are oats in it, they are out....any comments on that? Thanks.
  3. I saw tremendously great results with only two months on the diet. I had gone a year gluten and dairy free, and after doing SCD for two months I have been able to add small amounts of SCD dairy into my diet. That has been a really yummy thing for me! Also, when I do feel glutened or a little sick, I go back to the SCD diet and have a couple of safe days....
  4. As far as why people hurt in certain places, if you have D, then your pain can be located where the valves from the stomach and from each intestine and liver. That is what happens to me. The valves get inflamed from having multiple bouts of D, and they hurt and sometimes it feels like it is on fire! As for the glutening, it can take me a week to recover...
  5. Hi there, I'm actually not sure what Wheat Bix is, so I'm not going to be able to answer your question. But my 7yo son loves Peanut Butter Panda Puffs by Envirokids and Rice Chex. For the Rice Chex, we put blueberries in it. I hope you can find something that will work! Molly
  6. Thanks for the suggestions. I've never seen Nancy's yogurt, but I'd love to give it a try! I've been looking for a yogurt that has less sugar in it, just because who needs it!? Molly
  7. I'm hoping that someone can give me a great dessert that celiacs and diabetics can have and enjoy. I'd like to make something for my dad for our cookout tomorrow evening. I'm not much of a baker, but can try! Thanks! Molly
  8. That's pretty ridiculous. Can you shop somewhere else? My health food store has been awesome to celiacs/gluten intolerance! They have found lots of new products to bring into the store and have samples sometimes. You probably don't have a choice of where to shop, but you certainly can be prepared with a snub the next time around! Keep your head up high!!
  9. I've been dealing with multiple family weddings this summer, so I feel your pain! I would call the restaurant directly and let them know your circumstances. You can then judge if you feel safe eating at the reception. The last two weddings I went to, I talked to the chef and explained my circumstances. At one I had to change the meal that I had asked for...

    ARCHIVED Borborygmi

Again more sympathy.....I have the same issue. It is so much better now that I have been gluten free for over a year, but that is my telltale sign that I have been glutened. It sometimes happens when I consumer dairy as well. I do take a probiotic daily as a way to maintain balance in my gut. That seems to help. Molly

    ARCHIVED Probiotics

I take Floragen and have noticed a difference in my symptoms. I take it in the morning before I eat anything. Best wishes!
  12. Bananas with cashew nut butter. Homemade yogurt made with cream. Top with honey and yummy berries.
  13. The healing is very individual, based on the amount of damaged is done to the villi and how long you have been undiagnosed. I felt a relief from my symptoms as soon as I stopped eating gluten. I had already been off dairy for 5 months at the time. Then I would get a little better daily, with some setbacks as I made various mistakes. At one year no gluten...
  14. I saw it too, and I thought, I'm going to get that gluten-free refirigerator!
  15. My kids and I really like the Envirokids crispy bars. They don't fall under the category of granola, but they are yummy bars that kids love.
  16. I take Digest Gold, by Enzymedica. It seems to help me, especially when I eat a heavier meal. Gluten free is really tough in the beginning, but it really does get better. Hang in there! Molly
  17. I did have that same issue, but for me the gluten intolerance had caused me to have a leaky gut. I needed to be very kind to my gut in order to heal, so I went on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. It is very strict, but it helped me heal! I can now eat all foods, (except gluten of course) and have even added some dairy back into my diet. PM me if you want more...
  18. This is obviously an old thread, but what I am wondering if anyone reacts to the Snapea Crisps? I love them, and haven't had them for a few months now. I bought some yesterday and had a small bowl of them. I got gurgly and had D this morning. I have been super healthy for the last two months with no D! I am wondering if there is enough CC to make me ill....
  19. It really does get better. I am past the one year point, and finally feel great! I did give up dairy for a year, and now am only eating some aged cheeses, butter and homemade yogurt. When I eat whole foods, I feel wonderful. The gluten-free specialty items are great for a treat now and then, but good ol' fruits, veggies, and meat are the way to go in order...
  20. I've never heard of Supreme Pizza, being from Milwaukee area, but Bunky's Cafe has gluten free pizza. Just in case you didn't already know! Molly
  21. Yes it's safe and very good for you, too!
  22. Hi there, We just returned from camping and I packed a cooler full of stuff. I brought my glutino pretzels and Rice chips for snacks and lots of fruits and veggies. We made eggs w/bacon, Johnsonville brats on the grill with cowboy charcoal, and burgers on the grill. Since you will have a kitchenette, you can really stock up. For the Disney travelers...
  23. Why is there a warning by my id??
