  1. Laughed hard enough to snort at that one! Wondered where you were this morning! Heck, yeah! You've got 6 kids and feel spoiled??? Teach me, O Wise One.... Yeah, I like Veggie Tales more than I thought I would. Cute stories, good morals, and not overly preachy! Why the characters are talking vegetables though.... I...
  2. Taking down notes over here... A little better today... I've decided to nix all TV for a while, except Veggie Tales. I'm no Bible Thumper, (apologize in advance for any offense, again) but Veggie Tales is always about morals and behaving, so... good stuff in my book right now.
  3. The fact that they're willing to go gluten-free for the time she's there is really nice! That should be a little relief to you. My kids' dad, as much as he loves us, hasn't even been willing to do that. How about a list of common, safe medications that she might need? Such as Benedryl, Advil, etc. Only the specific, safe brand names that you list, no...
  4. Nikki!!!!!! Having a McSh!t!!! I love it! I do this frequently. I have to agree with JNBunnie and Alez, btw. Having a camera up the butt has to be way worse than a bra fitting. (Never was subjected to a colonoscopy, myself.) Plus, after the bra fitting, you get to SHOP. That makes it totally worthwhile. I'm a big believer in retail therapy.
  5. Hmm, I think I should do a bra fitting, too. At least, I need some new bras... Lucas can't sleep. He's in his room reading, right now. A few minutes ago, I told him to turn the light out and try to go to sleep, and he was like, "Ok, just one more chapter!" He's seven. A chip off the ole block, I say.
  6. Amanda, if you get a few minutes, can you PM me your famous chicken scampi recipe? :D
  7. Are you certain the shell contained gluten? If so, you would have gotten glutened even if you ate around the shell. If your food touches gluten, it is contaminated! You may already know that, but I just wanted to make sure. My older son sometimes gets low-grade fevers when he gets glutened.
  8. Sweet Zoey, I've been thinking about her! That had to have taken so much strength and effort, to pull her whole body weight up on one good leg. You know that took some determination!
  9. I like using sorghum flour and flax seed meal for a healthier, heartier bread. Some people use bean flours as a healthier alternative (I don't care for the flavor of them, myself.) Also, don't forget about brown rice flour, which is higher in fiber than white rice flour. All the successful gluten-free flour blends I've found have added starch-- usually...
  10. Btw, Em... there's a panicky mom whose diabetic son was just diagnosed with celiac disease. You may want to Open Original Shared Link Sounds like she could use some advice.
  11. Well we made it, and fun was had by all. Whew! And my friend's baby only wanted ME to hold her the whole time-- which I loved. She's about 14 months, and has been doing the mommy-clingy thing a lot lately. I think she figured out, "Hey, that one only has boys. She'll coo and spoil me the whole time if I allow her to have me." Emily, that sounds like...
  12. Aaaaaaannnnd I'm back! My car battery is dead, dead, dead. Ugh. My friend is on her way over and we're gonna try to jump it. I hate doing that. Car batteries scare me. She said she knows how to do it. If it doesn't take long, we might still make it (with all 5 eager children) to the library in time for the animal expert lecture. If we don't make it...
  13. Julie, I'm soo sorry you're having a hard time!!! I don't know what an angioedema is, I'm going to have to google it, but it doesn't sound fun at all. (((HUGS))) Bev, how is your PICCless self feeling? Hope you're doing ok! Gotta run for now, I'm taking the Pod Brats who stole my good children to the library. Later!
  14. Oh mah gah! I found a phunny on my local news website!!! Open Original Shared Link I found the 4th paragraph particularly amusing.
  15. Dude! You went to high school with Howie Mandel?? That's supa-cool. To weigh in on the cup conversation... I've got the single Ds going on already, and don't want the doubles, thanks anyway!
  16. Oooh, good idea! I wonder if there's a class like that around here..... I'll have to think on that one. I need something like that. Btw, Rachelle... when I was reading this thread earlier, my 5-y-old son caught sight of your picture, and actually stopped screaming for a good 60-90 seconds. He said, "She's pretty!"
  17. When people tell stories like this, I always picture them. As I read your description, I was picturing you and Jack, adding details as I read along... I get to "really, eh?" and I add in a Canadian accent, and PPPPPOOOWW, instantly burst out laughing-- machine-gunning chewed up broccoli salad all over my desk. Ya know, actually spitting out food from laughter...
  18. Quick poop-in....... My kids... I just cannot even tell you how aggravated with these two I am. What was I saying about how I can't wait for summer vacation? How long did ya'll give me before I took it back? Well, I'M THERE!!!!!!!!!!
  19. I'm going through these same issues, too. Right now, as I type, my 5 year old is pitching a screaming, flailing temper tantrum on the floor because he wants to watch TV, and I won't let him turn it on. He and my 7 year old son have been at each other's throats since school ended. We've signed up for the summer reading program at the library, and I...
  20. Sounds dee-lish, especially the pasta salad! Do you do an Italian dressing in it?
