  1. Well, POOPY COW. I gave up. I guess I gotta, like, get dressed now or something. I was hoping I could make a quick call and lay back down and snooze for awhile longer. Now I feel like it's too late. Brian and Ezra are up in PA, by the way, for a reunion. Luke and I stayed down here. It feels so... QUIET!
  2. Took the phone to bathroom with me and figured, "Oh well, if someone comes on the line while I'm in here, well... at least it's not diarrhea." But I'm done and still on hold. Every once in awhile, a recording comes on and says that "all their technicians" are currently assisting other people. Yeah right, this is Surry County. It's one 17-year-old computer...
  3. Well, I've already been on hold for 10... no, make that 13 minutes, trying to get through to someone to tell them not to send the guy, sooo........ He could show at any time. And I really have to go poop. To hang up, or not to hang up?
  4. No, you know what? I'm gonna make her a cake, and write, "Happy Sarcoidosis Day" on it. She'd appreciate the humor in that. I hereby apologize in advance if anyone sees the above and takes offense.
  5. Thank you, you guys!!!!!!! Honestly, the worry and feelings of dread were getting so bad, I haven't even been making any plans past today. Or no, I was already making plans-- who can I call in to take turns watching my kids so I can take my mom to chemo, etc... It was such a weird situation, with the doctor thinking a mistake had been made two...
  6. It's NOT cancer!!!!!!!!!! Woooohhoooooo! Oh thank God. Turns out, it's another autoimmune disease- go figure. Sarcoidosis. She's got to go in for some tests and x-rays to see if the lesions are on her lungs, liver, etc. Generally, Sarcoidosis is treated with steroids, which may be tricky for her, but hey-- it's not cancer! God, what a weight off...
  7. Well, today's the day of Mom's dr appt. She gets her stitches out from the biopsy, and we should get the results. I've been looking at pictures of different types of skin cancer on the net this morning, and haven't seen anything that looks like what Mom has. But I also looked at pics of actinic keratosis, which is supposedly what the original biopsy showed...
  8. Remember that I'm no doctor, "just" a mom-- but I'm betting he's got a nice big growth spurt coming up really soon! Try to take a breath and not worry until it's time to worry. (I know that's easier said than done!) Keep feeding him good, healthy foods, and put him on a gluten-free children's multivitamin, if you haven't already. If he had a lot...
  9. Susie, what did you hate about it? Was it just bad? I watched the movie when it first came out (great actors, critical acclaim, yada, yada, yada...) and WHOARGH, it completely traumatized me, ya'll. I cried through most of the movie, and then pretty much cried all night.
  10. Wow... I am O+, as are my mom and both of my sons. Interesting.
  11. Patti!!! I'm sorry about the hair catastrophe, BUT.... I wanna see a curly-haired pic! Off to my parents'!
  12. Hi, Lisa!!! How's things down in your part of NC? Well, all the kids were on fairly good behavior for the trip. I was especially pleased with my friend's son. He's a few months younger than Luke, they've all grown up together. But my friend's son is often difficult to handle (takes meds during the school year, but is off them for the summer.) He was...
  13. Thanks Julie! I'm off! This magician better be good.
  14. Why Janet, I recall you saying sometime last winter that your kiddos are perfect! Is the truth coming out, then??? I'm gonna hold you to that, Patti! These guys are ca-razy! I think I need a little girl to balance things out. Janet, what do you think, does that work??? Emily???
  15. Em, I thought we were gonna get to see a pic of this morphing shape on your torso???? Anybody want two kids, cheap? Shipping is free, and as a bonus-- you get free entertainment. Throw them in a ring together and they'll start beating the crap out of each other, no provocation needed.
  16. Speaking of kiddoes, I'm off to Lay The Smack Down on my own. I have all these fun things planned- we're going to see a magician at the library (and picking up one of my friend's kids on the way,) and tonight we're going over to my parents'. Today is my dad's b-day as well! (That's how I know, Alex. Their anniversary is on the 12th, then Father's Day, then...
  17. Happy Birthday, Alex!!!!!!! Man, things are gonna be interesting for any future kiddoes you guys have-- Anniversary, Father's Day, and Mom's birthday, all at one go!
  18. OMG, Anna, you had me in out-loud guffaws!!!!!!!!!! And you sound so much like me, it's not even funny. Right now as I type, I have Tilapia in the freezer waiting for me to get brave. I've NEVER cooked fish before, and the only reason I bought this Tilapia is because it had no sign of scales or skin anywhere on it. I'm going to try your foil method...
  19. Hi there! I'm mom to a Lucas as well! (Mine is 7. ) I have a few questions that may help clarify the situation... How long has it actually been since he gained any height? If it's only been a few months, this is normal even for a child without Celiac. Has he gained NO height, or only a tiny bit? Even a 1/4 of an inch counts. Does he look...
  20. Maybe something on your face just said, "Yes, indeed. I am perfectly capable of toting around a container of my own urine. I'm totally comfortable with it."
  21. Ohh, Ali, I'm so sorry that happened!!! I'll be thinking about poor Conner! One thing to keep in mind, is if your daughter puts him back on full-time gluten, Conner may show worse symptoms than before. Maybe that would be enough to convince her..?
