Sounds a lot like gas pressure with the distended stomach and you said the nausea feeling in throat. I know my husband and one of my daughters have problems with gas causing nausea too. If it is gas, something mild to relieve it might help like Gas X. I'd find out what is causing the problem for sure and/or see a doc about it if it keeps up. I use de...

ARCHIVED Lightheadedness & Weakness
Rosewynde replied to New Mama's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
With warmer weather and breastfeeding it might be dehydration or low on electrolytes. Have you checked that out? -
ARCHIVED Unsure?
Rosewynde replied to person011's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Why'd you get tested? Are you having symptoms? As far as I know if you blood work test is positive your Celiac, that's what I was told. My real proof was trying the diet and my flu symptoms slowly went away as soon as I stopped eating wheat, rye, barley, and oats. If your having medical problems and that is why you were tested then try the gluten... -
ARCHIVED Can You Be Celiac, But Not Have Anemia?
Rosewynde replied to sneezydiva's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Your symptoms are a lot like mine. I went ahead and did the Gluten Free diet, with my docs permission, while they were doing the tests. I felt better within a week. I can't gaurntee you'll get better that quick, but it's worth a try. At the very least I doubt it'd hurt. I'd definitely suggest staying with a multivitamin a day, just make sure it's gluten... -
ARCHIVED Good Thoughts Please...
Rosewynde replied to SunnyDyRain's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Sunny, Sorry to hear your having such a time of it We had problems with communications when my dad was in hospital with a head injury. Pin the doctors down by phone if you have too to get information or have your mom do it. She needs to get the info directly from them instead of through your dad under the circumstances. Give the nurses what for... -
ARCHIVED Possible Dairy Problem
Rosewynde replied to Samanthasmomma's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Check labels like crazy for any of the non dairy products. Soy, rice, or almond milks are a good substitute but often have gluten as a part of their processing or are made in a factory that makes other gluten containing products so there is potential for cross contamination. There are the obvious dairy things to watch for such as, milk, cheese, and butter... -
ARCHIVED Mental Confusion And Motor Probs From Glutening?
Rosewynde replied to angel42's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I get Brain Fog and weakness 6-12 hours after getting glutened. I've only been on the diet a month so I've not had long term experience, but I think it's related to the body being short on what it needs. I seem to get much better after taking a multivitamin with minerals (gluten free) and/or getting some fluids and electrolytes in me if I'm feeling dehydrated... -
ARCHIVED How Do You Explain Celiac To Others?
Rosewynde replied to Walter S's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
The way I explained how I felt was to ask if they'd ever had a flu bug that drained all their energy. Where if you moved your arm or leg an inch it felt like you just ran a marathon. Most people can relate to that. I also liked how one person described getting glutened as being just like food poisoning. -
ARCHIVED Printer W/scan, Fax, Copy Functions
Rosewynde replied to debmidge's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
OH i just realized something else you'll have to think about. . there are three types of connections to your computer for printers. The old Serial port style ones, USB, and Network. Most printers are just USB nowadays. -
ARCHIVED Printer W/scan, Fax, Copy Functions
Rosewynde replied to debmidge's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
We recently got a new printer to replace our ancient HP Ink Jet, it's paper feeder finally gave up the ghost. We did some looking at color laser printers, figuring the kids would need it for school projects, but the prices were outrageous. One of the workers at Best Buy suggested we check out All in one Photo Inkjet printers. We started comparing print... -
ARCHIVED Just Returned From The Gi With Blood Work Results
Rosewynde replied to samor's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I was positive for the antibody blood work and negative on the biopsy. However, a completely gluten free diet has made 95% improvement for me in less than a month. Mine is one of the gray cases where I didn't have 100% medical proof. The diet is what convinced me. No way am I going back to feeling fatigued, sick, and miserable again. Even if it means... -
Doctors are human, just like we are. They only know what they've learned, and unfortunately that means they don't know everything, just more about most medical things than your average human. Just hope you have a doctor that will listen to the information you've dug up on the internet. Some Doctors get upset when you try and self diagnose, even when your...

Sorry your feeling so awful! Hang in there! I'd explain to the boss and take a day down time at least. The stress from working while feeling like that isn't helping I'm sure. Don't forget to check even things you've eaten for a long while. Sometimes recipes and ingredients change without warning. That includes any regular medicines you take.

ARCHIVED Is Breastfeeding Safe?
Rosewynde replied to ItchyMeredith's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Not that this will help much as it's not exactly proof positive. I suspect my first real undiagnosed problems with Celiac Disease were with my second pregnancy. My youngest is 6 now and I've only recently been diagnosed. She was breast fed for the first 6 months of her life and is perfectly healthy. I was sick and eating wheat toast during that whole... -
ARCHIVED Any Suggestions For Dealing With Gas Pain From Accidental Glutening?
Rosewynde replied to Dianne W.'s topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I've been diagnosed with Celiac Disease but neither of my children have yet. However, my youngest used to get gassy stomach problems and a nurse told me to give her Simethicone. It did seem to help her. It's contained in an over the counter medication and has instructions for dosages. I don't remember the brand name we used at it was several years... -
I'm going to add my own two cents from my experience. Not all imitation crab is a problem. Some brands contain fish with no dangerous gluten containing products. WHEN in doubt ask the chefs or server to look at an ingredient list. I've had rolls with good imitation crab that didn't make me sick. Also, in California bay area at least, you can get REAL...

ARCHIVED So Confused!
Rosewynde replied to lob6796's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I recently skipped over Rice Dream and a few other brands of soy and rice milk due to the labels either saying they were made in a factory with other gluten products or because they said they had malt (even if it said it was a small percentage). Even Trader Joes generic brand said it was made in a factory with gluten products. Almond Breeze is what I went... -
ARCHIVED Almost Positive I Have Celiac
Rosewynde replied to Janessa's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I was told by my doctor that in the short time I had my testing done that going gluten free would not affect the tests, so I cut gluten out of my diet. I was in about as bad a shape as your indicating. One week into gluten free I felt immensely better and my blood work test came back positive for antibody levels that indicated Celiac Disease. However three... -
I know how you feel! * cheers * I was thrilled when they finally pegged down the cause of my years of problems. Keep researching, there is a lot of very good information out there to find. Feel free to ask questions too. Sometimes you get mixed information with internet searches and asking questions here can clear up confusion. Besides, I get the majority...

ARCHIVED I'm Confused On A Bunch Of Stuff!
Rosewynde replied to JuniperBush's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Celiac Disease is a autoimmune disorder triggered by a high stress event. If you read about it, any bit of gluten will worsen it. It may take time but eventually your immune system will be so sensitized it will start reacting immediately and drastically to any bit of gluten. My dietitian said Celiac Disease means gluten free for life. After all the problems... -
ARCHIVED Diagnosed For 2 Months. Miss Sandwiches. Help?
Rosewynde replied to geeze's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
For PB&J you might try using those puffed circular rice things, I remember someone saying that they did that with Peanut Butter and Honey. I don't care for PB&J or the puffed rice things so haven't tried it yet myself ; D I have tried and liked, big tomato slices, lettuce leaves, and pineapple slices as a bun replacement for homemade hamburgers... -
ARCHIVED What Do You Think Triggered Celiac For You?
Rosewynde replied to a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Doll, I've read up a lot on Celiac Disease since the GI doctor told me he was testing me for it. I'd never seen anything on the difference between Celiac Disease and gluten intolerant before so thanks. I found that rather fascinating. I'm also interested in the idea that someone else presented, that you can have minor problems that then go away and come... -
If your lucky enough to have a diabetic in the family with testing equipment. Otherwise it's not cheap from my understanding. When they were diagnosing me my dad tested my blood sugar a few times with his equipment cause he was worried I was turning diabetic like him ; D

ARCHIVED Problems And Pregnant.......need Help
Rosewynde replied to harley's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I had problems like this at the end of my second pregnancy. The doctors never did figure it out. Their guess was I had a flu bug that killed of the flora (digestive bacteria) in my intestines and was aggravated by the fact that i was lactose intolerant. They had me take acidophilus and stick to a BRAT Diet with boiled chicken. My symptoms got better but... -
Sounds like an uninformed doctor to me. On a gluten free diet your stomach can heal within that time period and show up normal. I'd also check other possible sources of gluten, changes in your diet, new meds, something that was safe that isn't any longer, or cross contamination. Also possible that something your having more of now on the gluten free...
