  1. I live in Long Beach I am still surprised by the lack of good places to eat too, but there are some Z pizza - has lots of locations but not all carry the gluten free crust, had it a couple weeks ago at the mid Wilshire location and it was pretty good, I'll go again The Veggie grill - I like this place a lot, only been to the Irvine location but I think...
  2. I also see you have a problem with dairy, I do too and I switched to eating goat dairy and raw dairy products with no problems. I rotate these too but it helps so much to have dairy back in my diet. Of course if you have very strong reactions I don't recommend it.
  3. I have a mild reaction to rice, and if the reaction you are having is mild you probably want to keep it that way so you can still eat it at times My doctor has me on a rotation diet so I only eat rice once every four days and that keeps it under control, also another thing that helps is soaking or sprouting your rice to get rid of the anti nutrients ...
  4. Maybe ask your doctor about doing an elimination diet and eliminate soy, corn, legumes, rice and anything else you think might be bothering you or that you eat frequently I had the same problem, and when you eliminate only one thing at a time it can be hard to pinpoint multiple food sensitivities. My doctor at first didn't want me to do it because I...
  5. Hi I am vegetarian and I just found this bakery called Shabtai Gourmet that has all kinds of goodies Gluten Free, Casein Free, Lactose Free, Soy Free, Dairy Free & Corn Free and it appears that at least most if not all are also rice free I got the ring tings (think hostess choco cupcakes with cream centers) and they are so good! wild rice is a grain...

  9. chebe is a brand, go to chebe dot com I can't find it in any stores near me so I order it by the case Ask your doctor about doing a rotation diet, mine gave me good info, you can google it too but some of the info out there is confusing It has really helped me get all me intolerances under control and if you have mild reactions to certain things...
  10. I have a lot of those sensitivities too but not quite as many Open Original Shared Link is a great place for recipes, she has multiple food intolerances as well and provides substitution ideas for most of the recipes. And every single one I have tried has been amazing. Chebe bread is wonderful, just tapioca, I just use water, oil and eggs when I...
  11. I know how you feel, when I first went gluten free I was starving no matter how much I ate but the good news is that does go away eventually ( does come back when I get glutened though) And I know this seems contradictory, since you said you gained weight, but adding in more fat (good fats) into my diet helps me feel full longer and I have lost weight...
  12. sprouting or soaking your grains can make them much more digestible, I too have mild problems with rice but soaking my rice has made that go away. You can try it with quinoa, buckwheat, any grain or seed you have mild reactions too. Google soaking grains and lots will come up. You can try chia seed, I put them in smoothies Also some people who can...
  13. since you are having problems with soy you could also be reacting to other beans as well since they are related. Rice and corn are related to wheat and I have problems with those as well (I can eat some rice with no problems but not everyday) I am vegetarian as well and it does get very difficult at times when you feel like you have nothing to eat...
  14. Trader Joes carries a corn free powdered sugar, I made frosting with it and it was super delicious, perfect texture
  15. I get that when I accidentally eat gluten and also when I eat corn
  16. I agree with others here you should go on a super simple diet and slowly add foods back in, talk to your doctor about an elimination diet, it helped me discover I was having very strong reactions to corn and also reacting to soy and rice.
  17. Indian is my favorite (before and after celiac) and so easy to eat out at Also love thai and lebanese
  18. Ooooo, I also make crackers with the cinnamon mix, tastes like graham crackers I think, so good with sunbutter or nutella.
  19. I make chebe rolls all the time, but I have never made them with cheese so that may be different. My rolls always puff up nicely, they puff a lot less when I use frozen dough though. I find the exterior gets too hard when they are cooked too long. I just make mine with eggs, oil and water and I think they taste fantastic.
  20. My cat was having lots of problems when I first got him and finally figured out wheat was making him sick about 2 years before I figured out I couldn't have gluten. Now we have all our cats on a grain free diet and everybody is doing great
  21. I am looking into getting a grain mill and wondering if anyone has one and has any advice. I have a Kitchen Aid, so was looking at the kitchen aid attachment($129) but some say it does not grind fine enough. Also looking at the Nutrimill ($269) and some complain that you cannot get a coarse grind. The two things that people have said are good to coarse...
