  1. Hello and welcome back!
  2. I have very dry skin since going gluten-free and my Mother does too, after starting the diet. We just try using lots of ltion but it doesn't work too well.
  3. I know that's not what you are saying. . .however, it does sound like you think you're not being breast-fed is a contributing factor with you having Celiacs. It doesn't make sense to me because Celiacs is not something you develop. It is something you are born with. That mean that you would have had it if you were breast-fed or were not. Being breast...
  4. You can get a blood test at your regular doctors office, too. You can try the diet but later on if you wan't to be tested you till have to eat gluten again.
  5. Blood tests can be unreliable, too.
  6. In 1991 the Sweds then started this study: Open Original Shared Link Looks like it says. . .those infants who were breast-fed were at a lower risk for celiac diease. . .some of the ones who were not breast-fed developed it sooner. . .and those who developed it and were breast-fed were diagnosed before the age of 2. I think the studies being done...
  7. I finished listening. When asked what could prevent/delay Celicas the doctor said there was a Swedish epidemic of Celiacs in children and that when the mothers then breast fed and got rid of gluten in the formula the epidimic stopped. . .that makes no sense. . so I looked up things for the research the Swedish did and they said: "This epidemic pattern...
  8. I am listening now. . .
  9. Hello Emily! People with Celiacs come in all shapes and sized. The tests can come back with different results. You should try the diet out and see how you feel!
  10. Can you show me this study. To me that theory doesn't make any sense and I'd like to see what they are saying. You should remind your family that just because they don't have symptoms doesn't mean they don't have it.
  11. That system has a "very low gluten or glutenfree" result. . .no simply gluten-free. . .how could you tell if it is glutenfree or the low one? I don't like those kinds of tests.
  12. Are there really enough people allergic to barely to make it one of the top ones?
  13. I know the one I use is gluten-free. . .but reading that e-mail makes it sound like they can't tell you which is or isn't because they change around so much. Then, it would make any and all lists invalid, right? Or do they not hide gluten agents?
  14. It's really all abut how you feel. Some of us get rashes and itchy eyes when around/working with gluten. If you feel fine around it then don't worry.
  15. Depending how long it takes you to be fully glutenfree. . .a few weeks or months to notice a difference.
  16. There is no way to test for gluten at home. If you really feel like you could br coss-contaminated then don't eat the flour. Here, a lot of regular stores carry Bob's Red Mill products. Maybe you should try them?
  17. You should look for a "more funky" area for it. . .since our diets are not normal American ones. I just think of Manhattan and how there are so many gluten-free places. . .and a cluster of them in Greenwich village, which is more funky. You want to be there for Celiacs and other health issues but you can also get the people who do the nontraditional lifestyles...
  18. I dont know if that one is. . .but sometimes things are in parchment.
  19. I thought their products were glutenfree? Does this mean they don't hide gluten or that they don't know?
  20. Yea, I would call. Remember that it's still in the same box as the pasta.. .depending on the sauce packaging cross-contamination can occur.
  21. My symptoms are a lot worse after being glutenfree for almost twoyears. Remember, just because you don't have symptoms or strong ones doesn't mean the damage isn't being done.
  22. Well, if it would e serious it wouldn't be very funnt. We know we can't "forget" to order glutenfree but I like anything that makes people know the word Gluten.
  23. I like it. Just maybe make the "Gluten Free" font easier to read. Good luck!
  24. Aww! It's good to hear she's feeling better!
  25. So, will this not cover gluten? I know that gutenfree is wheatfree. . .but that wheatfree is not always glutenfree.
