I hate to seem daft, but I think you would get more help by explaining what you need in other words. -
ARCHIVED Celiac With No Symptoms?
MySuicidalTurtle replied to healthyme's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
You may show symptoms later. You cause great damage to your body by eating gluten even if you don't think you are. Many different diseases and complications occur to Celiacs who continue to eat gluten. It will be ebtter for you in the long run to go on the diet and take care of yourself. -

ARCHIVED President Clinton
MySuicidalTurtle replied to celiacfreeman's topic in Publications & Publicity
I think it would be easier. They plan these things so well and everything would be alerted and taken care of. They also don't just serve the President anything when over seas. What if someone tried to harm him! -
Oh my gosh! She ate the insides! After it touched the bread??!!? That would make me so sick she should have just ate the whole thing.

If you deal with each location individually you will have more success than with the company, I think. -
ARCHIVED Burger King, Wendys, Mcd's, Arbys
MySuicidalTurtle replied to deener's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
If you go when it is not busy and can see them do your food then yes it is safe. My brother eats McDonalds hamburgers sooo much. He is a High School senior and goes there with his friends a lot. He has never had a problem. If he ever gets it with the bun he explains that e has a severe allergy and cannot have it touched and our local one gives him a brand... -

ARCHIVED How Did You Know?
MySuicidalTurtle replied to anerissara's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Weight loss only happens to some people with Celiacs. Many are overweight or at perfect weights. You should be tested and your children, too. Celiacs can be passed down. My mother gave it to me and my brother. Good luck! -

ARCHIVED Is Dextrin "glutenized"? What About Blue Cheese?
MySuicidalTurtle replied to anerissara's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Going out to eat and buying food from a store are very different things. If you call a company or write them they will tell you if their products contain gluten or not. If they were to lie about being glutenfre then they would run the risk of being sued. -
I think it does suck that bigger cities get more advantages. Her place will be in Denver. Big cities have more people and I bet you can make a lot more money with a gluten-free bakery in a big city than you ever could outside it (without shipping orders or being on-line). The only exceptions would be a communitry made mostly of Celiacs or vegan people...

I say funky areas because it would be more accepted there. I live 20 miles from Atlanta and you find the full veggie and vegan places in areas where people have different lifestyles and eating habits. You would have people who want those types of foods there. The ones who would come in every day for lunch. I travel everyweek downtown to shop. There is...

"Sell on line and at local health stores and other places where Celiacs buy other products." At the one health food store I go to they sell some local brands and it's cool. The Vegan thing would help get customers. . .it is verywide spread and they would eat glutenfree things as long as they were vegan, too. So, you wouldn't have to have different...

ARCHIVED On Elimination Diet For 5 Weeks With Zero Results
MySuicidalTurtle replied to marielynor's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
If your insurance covers it you should try allergy testing. I know it took me more than 5 months to be glutenfree because of hidden glutens. Did you make sure that you used glutenfree shampoo, make-up, and such? I have reactions when I use them. I hope you find some answers. Good luck. -

ARCHIVED Comprehensive Questionare-1 Of 2
MySuicidalTurtle replied to red345's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I am finding that almost every thread/post by red345 ends up with some sort of arguing. I know that it is not intentional. However, in the board guidelines it clearly says: "Show respect for each board member, no matter what you think of their post(s). This is not a place to quarrel." This thread was created for information gathering. Can it please... -

Risotteria is the best! We ordered 3 gluten-free pizzas- one with ham (my brother), one with cheese (my Mom), and one cheeseless (mine) and all came out perfect! I LOVED it! My brother and I wished we had time to go back. It is for sure on my favourite list! Also, just a short walk away is Sacred Chow which offers someyummie goodies. Sigh, I would... -
ARCHIVED Is Dextrin "glutenized"? What About Blue Cheese?
MySuicidalTurtle replied to anerissara's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
If you have a product that the company says is glutenfree and it has bleu cheese in it then it is fine. A lot of bleu cheese is grown on a bread mold and not glutenfree. It really is up to you if you want to eat it or not. If the cheese is made with a bread core and I personally do not eat it because it does contain gluten. I don't want the littlest... -
ARCHIVED Non Celiac Going Gluten-free
MySuicidalTurtle replied to krazikat's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
When non-Celiac people go on a glutenfree diet I look at it the same way as people who do not eat meat. It's a lifestyle change and if you want to do that then go right ahead! As long as you eat good foods and make sure you're gertting all you need then it is fine to make the choice to be gluten-free. The only thing you will have to watch out for is...
