  1. For over a year I was the only one here gluten-free and after a little bit I started craving my food and not theirs. I am a nut about crosscomtamination. I don't let people cook for me ad if they touch my food I won't eat it. I was verything ad sue new rags.
  2. Often I dream that I eat gluten, by accident or on purpose, and then have to run around insane thinking of what to do and how bad it was to have eaten it.
  3. Hmmm, 18 years of being told to take fiber or it was all in my head until I became very ill and moved down South. . .then my new doctor had a hunch and drew blood.
  4. I find that after a week of classes (I go M-Th) that I am just down. So, I spend most of the day just exhausted and resting. I am better after the day of rest though.

  6. It'd be best to ask your doctor when to get your child tested. I supose after they start eating food and all.
  7. I think that is just a certain insance. My brother eats ther eon Saturdays and a few times I have had to return his food and have never had a problem. What that worker did is surely against policey and very lazy. You should have gotten a manager due to that disgusting behavior.
  8. I don't use packets like that anymore for crosscontamination risks. It's all up tot he person, though.

    I was told at (by medical professionals) that you can have suddenly have a different reaction to gluten that you have never had before. If I have such a reaction to where I am not not able to speak for myself I want them to see that I have rections to what is listed on my medic alert bracelet (certain drugs and gluten).     I think it is good to have the alert tag. . .you never know when you may have a sudden new reaction.
  11. When I contacted ricearoni about using their sauce packets and bot noodles (like the mac and cheese) they said they could not gaurentee if there was cross-contamination with their packets. Remember that the bags the sauces are in can breathe.

  15. Take tin foil and poke a few holes in it and place it on the grill rack to keep your food from being cross-contaminated!
  16. Are you sure you are 100% gluten-free with food, medication, shampoo, and such? Seems stupid to ask but sometimes it's there without knowing it. Maybe more than one meal a day will help A few small ones?
  17. When you post it goes to the bottom of that thread. . .when a moderater comes on they see if that's where it belongs. . .then they pin it and it goes to the top. . or they move it to where it belongs and it goes to the top there. Your posts should be fine.
  18. The sad thing is that he will have to go through this stuff his whole life. It sucks not having whateveryone else is having but at least when he brings his own it's something. I say take him because he will be more comfortablearound others eating gluten, especially such yummie gluten things. I am 19 (diagnosed at 17) and still getting used to not eating...

Most doctors arn't too helpful and you have to do the research yourself. . .sadly it will take a long time to get the whole glutenfree thing down but it's all worth it and you'll get the hang of it. There is a teenaers section on here too where a lot of 17-23 yr olds post and stuff. You'll find that there are drinks for you to drink and you can go out...
  20. I live in WOODSTOCK! At whole foods you will find sandwich bread and rasin bread. . .you can buy it off the shelf or frozen from their bakery.

  22. They are supposed to be all gluten-free if they are McDonald restaurants. . .unless they are using the fryers improperly.
  23. Some blue cheese can be made from a wheat core. . .but it doesn't have to be. If it says gluten-free then it is gluten-free bue cheese.
  24. Last term my Philosophy Prof had pizza for our small class and I was the only one not eating it. He was the only one who knew about my celiacs and made me very comfortable and not seem odd that I wasn't eating any. . .so no one asked any questions! Sometimes I like it better wen people don't know or ask. It did smell so good though. . .mmmmm.
