ARCHIVED Newbie
MySuicidalTurtle replied to eli220's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Not every Celiac has the same symptoms. I used to have diarrhea all the time but my Mom was ALWAYS constipated. Some people do fine with gluten in their shampoo and what not. I'd go gluten-free with your nail polish and make up, though, since you are new and those could go in your mouth. I personally do it all gluten-free. The best way to find out if... -
ARCHIVED Daily Gas And Bloating - What Could It Be?
MySuicidalTurtle replied to blahtom123's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Are you eating more vegetables? I notice chocolate can bother me. -
ARCHIVED Do Symptoms Get Worse?
MySuicidalTurtle replied to JustAGirl79's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
All I know is that if I accidently eat gluten, it is way worse than it ever was before diagnosis. Probably because we heal and then destroy all that. -
ARCHIVED Siblings W/different Gi Issues- Same Problem?
MySuicidalTurtle replied to 4inharmony's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
My Brother and I (both diagnosed Celiacs) have completely different symptoms. He suffers from bad reflux. -
ARCHIVED Feeling Better... Update From Doc..
MySuicidalTurtle replied to puggirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
So you don't have Celiac Disease? Taking Pepto often like that doesn't sound good. . .are you sure you don't have something more than nerves? From the time I was 4 or so until 17 doctors told me and my family that my stomach issues and such were being a nervous child and then eventually that I was making myself sick on purpose. They told my Mom to feed... -
ARCHIVED Celiac Blood Test Pending...
MySuicidalTurtle replied to turbo's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
That sounds like a very common Celiac reaction! The brain fog can be so annoying and bothersome! -
ARCHIVED No Weight Gain Cookbooks
MySuicidalTurtle replied to daphniela's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I do not think gluten can cause overweigtness but it can cause bloating. I try to limit my calories, exercise, and do substations in recipes. Using some butter and the rest apple sauce while baking is a good way and eating more vegetables is, too. I also love making fries but use an oven and no oil. -
ARCHIVED How Do You Tell If You've Been Glutened?
MySuicidalTurtle replied to Pegleg84's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
After you are gluten-free for awhile you just learn to know what your body says. If you can't link a change to a specific food, you can do an elimination diet. You stay gluten-free and remove something from your diet, soy, casein, etc. Keep a journal with what you ate and how you felt. Like you said though, eating too many onions can cause tummy aches... -
ARCHIVED Celiac Blood Test Pending...
MySuicidalTurtle replied to turbo's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
If you go 100% gluten-free for awhile (weeks or months) and see an improvement then you will know. If you want an official doctor diagnosis, then you have to eat gluten everyday for at least 2 weeks. -
ARCHIVED Does Anyone Experience Violent Dreams?
MySuicidalTurtle replied to msmini14's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.ph...amp;#entry96891 That topic was made in 2004 by me. I have loads of nightmares still but not as much as I did back then. Still, though, I have more than any other people that I know. -
ARCHIVED Wheat Intolerant.. Bloating!
MySuicidalTurtle replied to xBuffyx's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
You have to give your diet weeks or months. This way your body can adjust. It is the same for any change whether wheat-free or going vegetarian. Good luck! -
ARCHIVED Doctors Not Listening To Me...even Laughing
MySuicidalTurtle replied to gossamer's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
It sounds like you are going through a lot! When I was a child, the doctors told my mom and me that I was making myself sick, so, I know how frustrating it can be when you really are ill. If you aren't happy with your doctors, and do not need an official diagnosis, you can always do an elimination diet. If that makes your symptoms go away, then you have... -
ARCHIVED Celiac Blood Test Pending...
MySuicidalTurtle replied to turbo's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Welcome to the board! You really need to be eating gluten for a few ways or weeks to get the right test result. Maybe you were eating enough, though. -
ARCHIVED Do You Have These Symptoms Too?
MySuicidalTurtle replied to CeliaCelia's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Some of those sound like Celiac symptoms, but most people react differently. The wart thing may be related to a weakened immune system, but I don't know that for sure- just a guess. I am glad your symptoms cleared up after going gluten-free! -
ARCHIVED Test Results.
MySuicidalTurtle replied to one more mile's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Whoa! You need to be eating gluten to have accurate tests! 10 months gluten-free is a long time. Do you feel better on the diet? That may have to be your answer because otherwise you'll need to eat it again to have a valid result. Show him information from loads of sources like these two: "This test can become negative relatively quickly after going... -
ARCHIVED Eastern European gluten-free Food Lists?
MySuicidalTurtle replied to brianinserbia's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Ohhhhh, I stocked up on that before I came home, and about last year my local stores started selling their products. Not the same exact stuff but still yummie! -
ARCHIVED Is This Finally A Set Diagnosis?
MySuicidalTurtle replied to Sin3str0's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
If you feel good off gluten then that is a big sign that you shouldn't eat it. You may have a gluten intolerance or Celiac Disease. As for the mold thing, I don't know, but a lot of people get sick from mold. -
ARCHIVED Contamination Issue?
MySuicidalTurtle replied to lainey461's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
It is possible that that caused a reaction. When I am working with hay I notice I get all stuffed up and sneeze a lot and the same when I am helping bake something not gluten-free. Once I stopped to think about it, I figured that was why. I also get skin reactions, though. -
ARCHIVED Betty Crocker Gluten Free Mixes
MySuicidalTurtle replied to deesmith's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Wow, I wonder if they will be easily accessible to buy. -
ARCHIVED Other Intolerance After Going Gluten Free?
MySuicidalTurtle replied to Katea's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I always knew I had an issue with dairy but after going gluten-free I noticed it more (probably since my gluten symptoms were gone). What I did was stopped eating things with lactose in them (no improvement) and then stopped eating everything with lactose and casein (big improvement). A dietitian isn't going to run tests on you so you can be off gluten... -
ARCHIVED Newbie...not Yet Diagnosed
MySuicidalTurtle replied to labsr4me2's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
It sounds like you have a lot of Celiac symptoms! The whole getting officially diagnosed thing is really up to you. If you do not need that confirmation and the diet is working great, then why go on gluten again? Say you do need more proof, then you have to eat gluten and I think for about 2 weeks. Some doctors can see the improvements from the diet,... -
ARCHIVED Not Sure What To Do gluten-free?, Cf? Or Both?
MySuicidalTurtle replied to ally123's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
It may take longer than a week for improvements to show. Were your boys completely casein-free or just off milk? It wouldn't hurt to try to have them off both casein and gluten but you have to make sure you are 100% off. This is hard at first but well worth the try. Good luck! -
ARCHIVED Monical's Has gluten-free Pizza!
MySuicidalTurtle replied to ChemistMama's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants

ARCHIVED Dealing With Reactions
MySuicidalTurtle replied to Hani's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I personally do not take anything unless I have to. I just want everything to come out of my system. However, it sounds like your symptoms are not like mine, though. So, you may try teas and peppermint to help with the tummy ache and nausea. -
ARCHIVED Kids Books About Celiac?
MySuicidalTurtle replied to inskababy's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I know I have seen books written for children, but I can't recall their names! I did a quick search and found: Open Original Shared Link and http://www.(Company Name Removed - They Spammed This Forum and are Banned)/gluten-free-Kid-Celiac-Diseas...6512&sr=8-9 Now, I don't know if they are any good.
