  2. The last time I checked with Amy's, their policy was that "gluten free" meant no ingredients contained gluten, but they were prepared in the same facility as their other products. Some of the ingredient labels even state this (as well as peanuts and other allergens). Why this isn't on every one of their labels, I don't know. I haven't checked their website...

  6. The advice to eat sugary foods for a hypoglycemic attack usually only apply to diabetics. I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia in January and am just now finally getting it under control.   7. I've seen the labels that say "contain", followed by any common allergens in the food. I've gone on to read the full ingredient list and seen "barley malt", or something similar. Do food companies not recognize the whole spectrum of "gluten", or do they just list food allergens? I know wheat is usually listed, but have never seen "contains barley" as a warning...

  9. I honestly don't understand why some doctors insist on doing the scope after someone has improved on a gluten free diet already. Isn't that enough evidence? If gluten didn't cause as much pain as it does for us (even in tiny doses), and "eating gluten for three months" was really that easy, then what's the point of a gluten free diet to begin with?   10. If your doctor is willing to send you to a GI, I'd try that. I'd been off gluten for 3 weeks when I was blood tested, so of course they came back negative. I started eating gluten again and within a day was back at the doctor's. He sent me to a GI and told me to "stay the he** away from gluten". With the codex standard set at 200 ppm of gluten being able to be called "gluten free", then it's just up to the individual celiac to determine if a product is suitable or not.   25. I called Pantene last year and they told me that "all Proctor and Gamble products are gluten-free". I use Pantene, but I would recommend reading ingredients on other P&G products before buying.
