  1. I just had this very issue at dinner last Friday. I was at a table of 8 at an Italian night event. The chef served me and another celiac gluten-free food that he had prepared specifically for us and even had tongs for us alone for more of the food. The rest of the food, to be passed family style was just put on the table. Well you can imagine what happened...
  2. I too am benefitting from social distancing (USUALLY). Our community has a large number of restaurants offering takeout and delivery. We are all trying to help them survive the pandemic. So we are ordering out twice a week and cooking in the other 5 days. So, alas there is still the opportunity for trouble.
  3. I was diagnosed in 2005. I have only twice in 15 years knowingly ingested gluten and yet I know that I am regularly exposed. I am extremely careful at home and when I dine out. I read every label and all research. I have annual colonoscopies(many polyps), and endoscopes every 2-3 years due to my difficulty with weight loss. It is very frustrating.

    ARCHIVED Babycakes

I just checked and Babycakes DOES have a website and you can order from them online. I can't wait to order some of their great food.
  5. Someone had told me recently that many restaurants add flour to their omelets to make them more fluffy. Sure enough, recently my husband and I stopped at a IHOP for breakfast. They have a little line at the bottom of their omelet list that says that they add a little of their pancake batter to their omelets. I asked for an omelet without the batter. The...
  6. I can so sympathize. My Dad is 82 and he just really doesn't get it that I can't eat food with gluten. He keeps offering me bread, or oatmeal, or cookies - you name it. He lives in a residential facility and I try to go and have breakfast with him once a week. It's always the same, he offers me something and I have to explain that I can't eat it. I've...
  7. I was diagnosed 2 and a half years ago and I still have accidents. I believe that my system must be getting more sensitive because I used to just have multiple bathroom runs when I ate gluten, but lately I have lots of pain too. Three days ago I KNOW that I didn't eat gluten because I prepared all of my food, but I still had a very painful night, and up...

    ARCHIVED Babycakes

I was in the city a year ago and a friend brought me several things from Babycakes. They were excellent. Do they have a website? Can you order from them online? Mary
  9. Hello, My levels were also over 100, too numerous to count. The higher the number does indicate that the disease is full blown.
