  1. Thanks for the translation, David.
  2. I fortunately do not have a problem with casein. I was lactose intolerant for 30 years before being diagnosed with Celiac Disease. I've used Lactaid pills and Lactaid milk for many of those years. They have always worked well for me. I have been gluten free for a year now and notice that for the past couple of months I am not lactose intolerant anymore...
  3. Uh oh....you've surpassed by elementary Gaelic! I'll have to go back to the website I used and ask them what your reply means!! If my grandma was still here she could have helped me. She was a Meehan from County Cork. Hope your day was splendid. I still have corned beef and cabbage to look forward to tonight.
  4. I think I'm going to cry!
  5. I took this information off their website last week and it's dated 2009 so I believe they are safe to eat. Are Mission Foods products gluten free? Mission Foods Corn products are produced with 100% corn flour; wheat ingredients are not added to the formulation. These products include Corn Tortillas, Corn Tortilla Chips, Taco Shells, Tostadas, Corn...
  6. I e-mailed Green Mountain about their flavored coffee this week and they responded that they are all gluten free.
  7. I was 52 when diagnosed. I found out I had osteoporosis the previous Fall and when I went for a physical that January, I was extremely anemic....my ferritin level was 1. They sent me for an endoscopy because the doctor thought I might have a bleeding ulcer from the Boniva I was taking. When I mentioned that I was lactose intolerant also, she ran the bloodtests...

    ARCHIVED Coffee

I drink from the office coffee pot with no problems. And if you are looking for a flavored coffee that is gluten free, Green Mountain brand is safe.
  9. I am a Mission Corn Tortilla fan and the package I bought the other day does say Gluten Free on it. Here is some info I got off their website and it's dated 2009 so I'm thinking it's current. Are Mission Foods products gluten free? Mission Foods Corn products are produced with 100% corn flour; wheat ingredients are not added to the formulation...
  10. I love lilacs....MMMMMMMMM!
  11. I, too, use Pamela's for my pancakes and Gifts of Nature oats. They are both delish.
  12. I use Dove brand with no problems. I believe that company is very good about labeling their products, also.
  13. Thanks for posting that info, Mammasaidso. I, too, was diagnosed with osteoporosis - in November 2007. My hips were fine, but my spine was in bad shape. The doctor put me on Boniva for 3 months and I didn't have a good reaction so stopped taking it. I was diagnosed with Celiac shortly after. I read Dr. Green's book, also, and had to 'educate' my doctor...
  14. Linda, Don't be scared. When I had my testing done, I had my colonoscopy and endoscopy 4 days apart. They were both a piece of cake. I felt nothing, woke up, went home and slept for a few hours. I had no pain whatsoever. I ate some bland food and watched TV and read. The next day I was good to go. The prep is the worst part, but even that wasn...
  15. I order a lot of my gluten-free stuff from Amazon....Pamela's products, Gluten Free Pantry mixes, Mary's Gone Crackers, Mrs. Leeper's dinners, Tinkyada pasta. If you order $25 or more on certain products, you get free shipping. Can't beat the convenience.

    ARCHIVED Pica?

Oh, Vicks VapoRub! I love the smell of that. I used to put some on a tissue and carry it around so I could sniff it during the day. I thought it was because it reminded me of my mother when she would rub it on my chest when I was little. Who knew!!! LOL

    ARCHIVED Pica?

I chewed on ice for years. About 10 years ago, my dr. discovered I was anemic which he attributed to heavy periods. He told me to take iron pills and I slowly lost the cravings for ice. But about 3 years ago, it started again. I just thought it was a bad habit. This year I was diagnosed with celiac and severe anemia with no iron stores. Myy current...
  18. I, too, eat Silver Floss and have had no problems.
  19. I was wondering the same thing!
  20. Thanks HappyGirl. And...LOL....who is that 'man' that is showing up in so many member photos?
  21. I will be going back to the GI doc this week for my 6 month follow-up blood work. I have no digestive symptoms so the only way I know if I am following the diet correctly is through the blood work. How often should I be having this done, so I know I am staying on track? And what other tests should be done besides the Celiac Panel? Thanks for your help...
  22. Thanks, Hummingbird. I've just re-joined WW for the 3rd time...LOL....and I thought my days of Smart Ones were over. This will be a big help.
  23. Maybe it's because I haven't been eating gluten-free that long, but YES, I would eat it morning, noon and night if I was able! I truly miss the foods I'm no longer able to have and the easier, more spontaneous life-style that went along with it.
