  1. Hi Robin: I searched for Sharp Electronics and found the manual for your palm pilot. I think on Page 28 of your manual, you will find the instructions. It mentioned software that came with your pilot. Did you get this? Here is a link: although you will have to read with your head sideways as the manual comes up that way! (as I massage the kink...
  2. Hey Random Guy! With your attitude, you won't have any problem getting used to the gluten-free diet. Honest, it really does get easier with time and eventually, it will be so second nature to you that you won't even think about those foods. (although, the VERY ODD time, you get slapped in the face with a craving, an example of this was last night when...
  3. Hey Stef! Yep, I bit the bullet and posted a pic finally! I started the year by coming out of my shell!!! Karen
  4. Hi Miko! I am glad you joined the board! There's a lot of great people here who are always there for support and to answer questions..... I am 42, but have been gluten-free for a lot longer. You are right about one thing, you are about to start a whole new phase of your life! Welcome! Karen

  9. Jessica, I know this is probably too late for you to read, but I just wanted to post to support you and let you know that it really isn't as bad as you think....... the prep work is worse than the actual procedure!!! Please post and let us know how you are doing afterward..... Hugs and good luck! Karen
  10. Hi Barbara! I also received a response from him. I thought it was very kind and considerate to respond personally to his numerous e-mails. Karen
  11. It's funny someone mentioned earlier about their sister eating dirt. That brought back some memories for me. I have to absolutely take the cake on eating the weirdest stuff when I was a kid. I used to love to lick my finger, dip it in the ashes of the ash tray and then eat the ashes. Also, when I was a kid, all I would eat would be potatoes, morning...
  12. Hey, Lisa! You've come a long way, baby!!!! I also whip out my cell phone for those 1-800 numbers right in the middle of the aisle...... Karen
  13. Looking back, I had symptoms as a child (anemia, I would only eat potatoes morning, noon and night because they didn't hurt my tummy, etc.). But in my early 20's I went down on vacation to Jamaica and got food poisoning, which triggered the severe symptoms. Karen
  14. Congrats, Beverly!!!! Way to go! That is quite an accomplishment! Hugs. Karen
  15. Mr. Hamilton: Thank you for taking the time to come to our forum to communicate with us directly to let us know the overwhelming response you have had to your article. We really appreciate what you have done to raise awareness for this disease (as I mentioned in my e-mail to you today), and wanted to reiterate to you just how wonderfully informative your...
  16. Every year I get really bad dry skin on my hands, my skin cracks and bleeds in between the fingers and on my knuckles. The ONLY thing on the market that used to be able to take care of it was Aveeno with Oatmeal. Believe me, I have tried EVERYTHING! When I went gluten free, I had to give up my Aveeno. I haven't been able to keep the dry skin in the wintertime...
  17. Rusla, Where is Canada are you? Karen
  18. Awesome! And George, thank you for pushing and pushing for us - you probably are the force behind that article and you deserve kudos!!!! Karen
  19. Up here in Canada I buy it at a mainstream drug store we have here "Shoppers Drug Mart" in their health/vitamin section...... Karen

  21. I also do the happy dance when I find something new that I can eat. We better watch out though, people are going to start to think (with raised eyebrow) "Man, those celiacs are psycho!"!!! Hugs. Karen
  22. LOL! I guess that's what I get for posting so late!!! (reminds me of our "You know your a Celiac when" list: remember the "You can say Kinnikinnick 10 times quickly without messing up"? (something like that!) Wish I could go to sleep but my tummy just won't let me, it is fully active tonight, wearing out the carpet from the computer to the...
  23. Hi! I am a bit behind in reading the threads and just read this thread. Sounds like you have gotten great advice so far. I am really happy for you that you have seen such a change in you little Dyl since you started him on the diet! Just wanted to mention a few things. Make sure any over the counter meds, prescription meds, vitamins, supplements...
  24. I agree with the advice to put your child on the gluten free diet and see if there is any improvement. I too have heard/read numerous times that bloodwork for children under 2 is very unreliable...... Good luck! There are lots of people here with small children on a gluten free diet who can walk you through this...... Hugs. Karen
  25. Carrie, They must have made some advances in this procedure since I had it done because they said they had to keep me partly awake to "swallow" the tube down......... If they can knock you totally out now, that's awesome! Hugs. Karen
