Canadian Karen replied to Canadian Karen's topic in Doctors
Also, forgot to mention this..... He asked me if I ever get swollen ankles. I said no, never. He said that was a positive indicator, because apparently, that is a major symptom of refractory.... something about our systems not being able to process something (I forget what he said), and that it usually travels down to the ankles...... And also, he... -

Hello everyone. Well, I have had some good news and some not so great news.... Professor Dr. Moore was one of the most knowledgeable dr's I have come across in regards to celiac. Thanks! I am keeping my fingers crossed, and my toes too! I found the second med someone suggested: Hyoscyam 0.125 mg. Apparently, it helps with both the abdominal pain and the diarrhea.... Karen -

Hi Janine. I am a bit in the same boat as you..... Just tonight, I was having...

Canadian Karen replied to cynicaltomorrow's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Have you checked to make sure they are gluten-free on www.glutenfreedrugs.com Don't make the mistake I made. Canadian Karen replied to Canadian Karen's topic in Publications & Publicity
Aahhhhh........ ummmmm - it's a good thing you don't live in Ireland, eh?? I have often pondered the last few years while I have been having these feelings that the Catholic church just does not meet my spiritual needs, if the Protestant church would take Irish Catholic converts!!!! I just need a church that includes everyone into their flock. I... -

ARCHIVED Those Of You That Suffer With Diarrhea
Canadian Karen replied to BamBam's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Okay, yesterday was the first day that I took Caltrate - I took three, 1/2 hour after each meal..... I woke up at 1 a.m. with excruiating pain, spend the next four hours going to the bathroom, (yep, still diarrhea.....), and laying on the floor with my heating pad rocking myself trying to control the pain. It was just like a knife going through my body... -
I don't quite understand why we have to be careful about hair dye.... Does the dye absorb through our scalp? It can't be because of the hands, because we wear gloves when we apply it..... Is it only celiacs with DH that have to worry, or all of us? Thanks for any input..... Karen
