ARCHIVED I'm Planning My Cheat Day
msmini14 replied to Blessings's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I saw this post come up the first time and I knew this would get a lot of reaction lol. It is sad that a person who knows they shouldnt do something still does. Have you ever cheated before? If not then I say go for it. I hope you learn your lesson. I cheated well over a year ago. I ate gluten 1 month after being gluten free and will never do it again... -
I wish you the best of luck, I hope they find out what is wrong with you. Get better soon!

Morning all! How is everyone doing? Glad to hear you made it through Judy! lol, I know is tough being gluten-free then not even being able to smoke at a get together. Can anyone give advice on how to relax while going through this change? What helped you when you quit?

ARCHIVED Does Anyone Here Count Calories?
msmini14 replied to msmini14's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I tend to do the same, over eat so that is another reason why I have started to track my food again. It isnt ever consistent lol. I dont consume enough calories or I consume way to many. Then like you said, you over eat then give up. -
hehe Enjoy yourself! A drink every now and then is always good.

lol that is funny you say that, I love the way matches smell! I had a pack of matches the other day and I lit one in the truck. Right as I did that BF comes around the corner and busted me lol. He thought it was funny, he knows I love that smell. I can at least say bf soon to be dh has been very supportive through this, I couldnt ask for more from him...

ARCHIVED Does Anyone Here Count Calories?
msmini14 replied to msmini14's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
When you log the food you have eaten do you also write down any issues your body is having like cramps, etc? I have been gluten-free for over a year but I fall in this pattern of over eating, well I at least feel like I do. So I am back to writing down everything that I eat so I know if I am under eating or over eating. Which like you said also helps... -
Hi all, I am just wondering if anyone here counts their calorie intake or at least records what is eaten through out the day? If so has this helped you to not over eat or make sure that you are eating enough? Thanks!

Morning all, Ok so I went to the doctor for peace of mind and yes it is anxiety. I need to remember to breathe long deep breaths lol. I am not one to go to the doctor but this feeling had me worried for awhile, just hope it goes away soon. I had a smoker at my house yesterday and I stepped outside for a minute after my run and the smell hit me in the...

So glad to hear that we are both running on short fuses Judy! lol. I just want this awful feeling to go away. How are you dealing with the craves? Using the altoids? I need to find something. I was chewing on toothpicks for awhile and gum. Has anyone here felt really light headed after you stopped smoking? I used the patch all the way to step 3...

ARCHIVED Dog Food
msmini14 replied to casnco's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I feed my dogs Nutro. It has oats but there is no wheat/barley/rye etc. It is in a green bag and made for dogs with sensitive stomachs. Congrats on your new puppy! =) -
I have noticed my anxiety has gone through the roof since I stopped smoking too. I get in the car to drive an hour in horrible traffic to get to a job that I dont like, then all of a sudden I am getting very light headed and frustrated lol. Wish I could see the dr to get some pills for this transition. Judy I struggle too and we can do this.

ARCHIVED Rice Chex Recipes
msmini14 replied to Worriedtodeath's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I take a handful of walnuts and almonds, throw them in a pan with a tiny bit of brown sugar. I toast them for 3-5 minutes. During that time I melt chocolate chips, I use the dairy free kind. Then I take rice chex and honey nut chex and spread them out on a cookie sheet. I mix in the nuts with the chex and drizzle chocolate off a fork on the entire batch... -

Judy you are so sweet! I know its hard, I crave them too and like others said it is all out of routine and that is what I have changed. It was hard because I am the type who lives by a schedule/routine in my mind, I have a certain way of doing everything, what time it is done, etc. Not smoking was the hardest thing I have ever done. Just remember...

My house is gluten free; everything and we only do that so I don
-
I cant blame you for that lol, when I drank I had to smoke. At least you stopped for the most part. I am the type of person who cant even have 1 smoke lol.
-
Yes I did it for me and nothing or anyone else. I got so sick of being outside all the time to puff on something that was killing me. I dont stink anymore, I can breathe AND I can run 1.5 miles in 15 minutes now =) I started jogging after I quit smoking to give myself something to do, was not easy at first. Thanks all, today is 1 full month! =) Anyone...

Well I would have to say that I failed the attempt I made in October of last year. BUT......... =) As of 3/20/09 I have not had one smoke, not even a puff!! I went on the patch and today I stopped using it and feeling great. I just want this nicotine out of my system! I cant believe I have gone this far. Not ever again will I smoke. Agh just the...

You are hungry because your body is playing catch up. You will put on weight because your body can now absorb its food. I put on weight also and I couldnt stop eating for the life of me when I first went gluten free. What helped me with my cravings was peanut butter. You have a good diet going on so I would keep with that, but like I said you are playing...

ARCHIVED Best State To Live In For The gluten-free Diet?
msmini14 replied to crayola's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I never thought of looking on amazon, you have to buy in bulk but you save so much money. 1 bag of pamelas baking mix is almost $18.00 when you can get 3 for $36.00, amazing! I will buy in bulk just to save money lol. Plus it is an hour drive just to get to wholefoods and the place in a mad house, not worth it to me lol -
