ARCHIVED So Sorry To "trouble" You.. Ugh!
msmini14 replied to mysecretcurse's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Winco has a lot of gluten free items, you just have to take at least an hour to look around the store. If you have a Stater bros by you, they do have a gluten free hummus, so goood! I only buy every now and then because I eat it all lol. There are a few different types of hummus at staters but the one I buy is safe, check the labels though because the... -

msmini14 replied to pandaman's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
hehe, I told a guy he was making me sick =P I thought it was funny, but I think he got a bit offended. Why get upset over it right? make a joke.. anyway, yes you will have to be careful with that. And like I said above, I was seeing a guy for awhile and he ate gluten, I kissed him then wondered why I was getting ill. Then it hit me, he needs to brush... -

Welcome to the site Steve! =) hehe I would love to eat a real piece of cheesecake.....mmmmm. lol I always say that. I wont do it though, no gluten is worth it. If the doctor asked me to eat gluten for 3 months, I would be so sick. Last time it was only 3 months before I was dx'd and I dropped so much weight, not doing that again lol. Good luck... -

msmini14 replied to jasonD2's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Jason, it is unfortunate that you feel this way and I wish the best of luck to you. I understand that you are stressed out etc and sometimes it is easier to blame others for what you have been going through. When Celiac triggered in me, I was in a very very stressful relationship and I got food poisoing when I ate out.. was never the same after that. I... -

Your body is playing catch up right now. Did you absorb any of your food while eating gluten? I lost a lot of weight because my food went right through me, within minutes of eating. I didnt feel full after eating for about a month after going gluten-free. After my body caught up with itself I started to feel full again! It was such a nice feeling, something...

msmini14 replied to jennavive00's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I went to Golden Spoon last night and that will be my 1 and only time going there. I think I got cc'd, I have a little bit of pressure in my forehead today. Anyway, the yogurt is constantly changed through out all the dispensers and employees said they clean and sanatize but remember most of them are teenagers. The toppings for the yogurt are all over... -
I let the gluten temptation get to me one time after being gluten-free for a month. Well I proved it to myself lol and never again will I consume gluten on purpose. I say on purpose because accidents do happen, cc and so on. If you feel the need to prove it to yourself I say go for it. The above responses are very true though, you can cause so much...

hehehe I have dealt with the same issues. I give a little bit of info too but you have to remember not to many people know there are allergies to wheat. Most people I have spoke to about this just dont understand how one could be allergic to it. And yes most assume its still ok for you to eat white bread or a chocolate cake but you can not blame them for...

ARCHIVED Halloween Candy
msmini14 replied to mcs1984's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Most candy is safe, except the ones with wafers, etc. If you go to mars or hersheys websites you can look at their FAQ and they will explain. Most of them will state that certain ones are gluten-free but to always check the labels because they can not always keep up with the changes. Also look up candy within this sites search engine and it will bring... -
Dont go crazy with it, eat like you used too before going gluten-free. And yes it is very important that you consume gluten before these tests are done. My idiot doctor told me to go gluten-free before my tests, what a waste of 500 dollars on my part. I would enjoy it while it lasts, but as the saying goes.... only in moderation. lol dont eat a large pizza...

I wanted to share with everyone here that I am going to quit smoking. I figured if I could stop eating gluten I can stop smoking. It is going to be rough, at least I know what to expect when I give something up that I some what enjoy. Giving up gluten was hard and still is, I do miss it so. I know it will be the same, I can do this. It bugs me everyday...
