  1. I think that they are cross contaminated. Both my son and I had problems. We both seem to be sensitive to small amounts of gluten. It's a shame. I was excited to have cereral to eat that I actually felt like eating. I e-mailed them and they said that they are careful about cross contamination. Getting sick is the true measure. Stephanie
  2. Yes, I got sick from them too. I don't think that it was from contamination because I was very sick. My son had the same reaction. It says on the package that some celiacs react to the protein in oats and we seem to be in that group of celiacs. Lucky us. We were both sick for about 3 weeks. It will be a problem as gluten-free oats become more...
  3. I had problems with urinary tract infections without kidney disease since I was a little kid. I finally stopped it by drinking cranberry juice daily. It has more recently been shown to be effective. I don't know if celiac had anything to do with it. I've only been gluten free 8 months. Stephanie
  4. It helps to check on the label if it says anything about being processed in a facility that also processes wheat. I avoid those items. Apart from that it seems to be trial and error. It doesn't help much to ask other celiacs because tolerance varies. Some can eat things that others can't. It is a painful way to find out. There isn't a way for companies...
  5. I find this very difficult. I have been at this 8 months now. At first it was wonderful. I stopped eating cereal and bread and felt fantastic. Then I got increasingly more sensitive. At first I didn't react until the next day. I would try to only try one new thing a day. My son has it too so we can test things for each other. Now that we are more...
  6. At my son's school they didn't want to go to any efforts to keep gluten away from him without proof of celiac from the doctor. I had removed him from gluten without testing first, not understanding the need to be on gluten to get a positive test. He was throwing up 10 times a day and I was trying whatever I could. I tried to get him back on gluten for...
  7. That is so funny. I was watching the notebook too! That is what I did yesterday morning while crying my eyes out. Though I didn't think that what they went through was so bad. I think they are lucky to have such love in their lives. Stephanie
  8. Thanks to all who replyed to my post. I was so glutened yesterday, I couldn't find out how to find the replys untill quite late. Today I am much better. I used to have trouble with depression before going gluten free and now it only happens when I am glutened, but it is so much more intense, it is harder to manage. Medication wouldn't help because it...
  9. This is my first post. I have found these boards very helpful. I am having a bad gluten reaction. I'm not sure what caused it. I soiled my sheets this morning. I am horribly depressed. I've been crying all morning. I am home with my 11 year old who also has celiac and he is fine except for having to deal with his crazy mother. It really feels like...
