I've never heard of such a thing. -
ARCHIVED Trying To Gain Weight After Diagnosis
ang1e0251 replied to gfreegirl0125's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
First, make sure you are eating enough protein. You need protein with each meal and it wouldn't hurt to have some with snacks too. Then add more good fats to your diet as much as you want. Good fats are dairy fat, you can add a slurp of cream every time you have your whole milk. Add coconut milk to foods and drinks. Eat nuts and avocados. These are... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Foods That Are Low In Carbs....
ang1e0251 replied to wilem008's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I think a lot of that depends on your own body. When I went very low carb the lean meats I was eating did not have enough dietary fat to satisfy me or my hypoglycemia. If you can tolerate them, that's fine but I needed additional fat to get through the day. I needed some days with chicken that was bone in, eggs cooked in butter and added coconut milk to... -
ARCHIVED How Does Celiac Cause Migrains?
ang1e0251 replied to Lisa16's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
My daughter and a few others I know have had great relief with a natural product called Migrelief. You can order it online or we just call WalMart pharmacy to order it. They get in in within 24 hours. It contains magnesium, riboflavin and feverfew. It has proved very effective for the persons that I know. -
ARCHIVED Very Unusually Large Stools...
ang1e0251 replied to mindyandy420's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Magnesium can help constipation and large stools. For me, it seemed improve my stools. It seemed to me I was extracting more liquid from my stools and making them normal rather than loose and poorly colored. -
ARCHIVED I Have A Question About Celiac Diease....
ang1e0251 replied to Trina7020's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Go back to eating gluten and have your dr run a complete celiac blood panel. Explain to her your experiment and how your body reacted. After you have the blood work, come back & post the results. If they are positive, your dr should send you to a gastroenterologist for an endoscopy. If they are negative, post them here so someone can interpret them... -

ARCHIVED Improving Every Month
ang1e0251 replied to dogle's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Congratulations on having such a dramatic improvement in your health. That means you are doing well with diet. I'm a year and a half in and I still have 6-8 bm's a day. I don't think that's going to change. But the fact that they are so much healthier and I'm not doubled over in pain before and during each one, is good news to me. I'm glad you... -
ARCHIVED Inspiration Short Story
ang1e0251 replied to Miss Emily's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thank you. What a simple and brave way to explain our lives. I'm sending it to my family and friends and my celiac group. It certainly puts into words the almost unexplainable choices persons with chronic illness face. You've inspired me. -
It this point, i'm not sure what to do next. sometimes i wonder, what if i never had celiac disease? what if i gave up all these foods and didn't have to? why am i not a total picture of health at all times? why did my gi doctor originally say i probably had celiac disease, then tell me i didn't? what if i hadn't made my own decision and decided I did? ...

ARCHIVED Peripheral Neuropathy And Heat
ang1e0251 replied to schmoogilah's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
My symptoms were never as severe as yours. The tingling and burning in my feet was the worst. I guess I always suffer over all in the heat so I never noticed that my feet were worse then. I always thought it was just that being on my feet made them hot any time of year. I will have to say that is gone since I went gluten-free. When glutened it does come... -
ARCHIVED Handling Extended Family's Dinner Hostings When They're Not gluten-free Careful
ang1e0251 replied to lobita's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
If you have a good attitude about it, everything will go well. Take your own food or eat before you go, whichever suits you best. Be light and fun, if you are having a good time, no one will notice anything is wrong. After all getting together is about enjoying each other not the food. I know, we do focus on food a lot in our society, but she can't use... -
ARCHIVED Wow... If I Wasn't Already Convinced...
ang1e0251 replied to boysmom's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I have read other posters report that the balsamic vinergar they were going to use had wheat as an ingedient added. Not all of them but some. I second the advice on magnesium. It will help constipation and if you feel it is making you too loose, you can reduce the dose and try the magnesium oil that you spray on your skin. -
ARCHIVED My Taste Has Come Alive!
ang1e0251 replied to purplelion's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I have noticed that some foods seem too flavorful for me now. I think in my case it's because I have reduced my nasal congestion and post nasal drip so much. On the gluten-free diet, I'm about 60% less congested. I think I'm smelling food more as I chew it and that enhances the taste. -
ARCHIVED Is It Celiac Disease? Please Help.
ang1e0251 replied to Simbus23's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
However, I continue to have intense headaches, I feel bloated after I eat, when I don't have endless diarrhea I'm constipated, and my stomach seems to constantly hurt. No amount of Tums or Zantac seems to help. Also, I sleep 10+ hours a day and still have no energy. I also recently miscarried. These can all be symptoms of celiac disease. ... -
ARCHIVED Cycles Of Symptoms?
ang1e0251 replied to Pivo's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
My symptoms include persistent stomach pain (burning) for which I take aciphex, and that usually keeps it under control. However, the symptoms I experience the most our episodic. I have "spells" or bouts where I will have widespread muscle and joint pain (particularily my knees). I will start to feel this pain in my hands and knees on day 1. On day 2 I... -
ARCHIVED For Those Who've Had Peripheral Neuropathy Or Still Does

ARCHIVED Allergy To Wheat Is That A Gluten Allergy ?
ang1e0251 replied to talula2's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I think you should just listen to what your body says it can tolerate and stop listening to the dr's advice on your diet. You know what to avoid to feel good. Go forward with that. No one has mentioned vitamin supplements but sublingual B12 and magnesium also D were extremely helpful to me . -
ARCHIVED Should I Be Here?
ang1e0251 replied to Melusine's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I am a self diagnosed person with celiac disease. My doctor isn't entirely convinced but I never told him all of my symptoms either. Since I'm off gluten, I've only had to see him once a year for BP. So that is a small window for him to talk to me. Personally, I won't ever do a gluten challenge. My symptoms are very clear when I'm glutened and... -
ARCHIVED When Does The Constant Hunger Go Away?
ang1e0251 replied to River*'s topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I also tend to be hypoglycemic so I feel like I'm eating constantly. I am eating frequently. I had to stop comparing my food intake compared to other people. I have to agree that if you're hungry all the time you should adjust your eating until that passes. I would also recommend uping your protein intake quite a bit with meals and snacks. I eat... -
ARCHIVED Glutened At A Wedding?
ang1e0251 replied to Billygean's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Did your white wine sauce have dairy? Lots of sauces do. And the other poster is right, crumbs are around the kitchen and CC can happen easily, even off the server. You said you had ketchup and mayo. Were those your containers or could someone have used them before you? -
ARCHIVED Meijers Santitos Corn Tortillas
ang1e0251 replied to SLB5757's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
In th beginning I ate the cheapest tortillas I could find and that went well. But a few months in I was more sensitive and had to be more careful. The ones I used to eat were getting me. I changed to Mission and no problem. I have to assume cc at the plant they are made in but I never called to find out. -
ARCHIVED Periods Off Diet Do They Really Have An Impact?
ang1e0251 replied to UnhappyCoeliac's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
If I recall your main reason for testing were neurological problems affecting your gait and strength. You were afraid of MS and relieved when the diet helped these problems. Do I have your story? So I guess you have to take yourself back to that moment when you were your sickest and most scared. Is that where you want to be again? I know, you don... -
ARCHIVED Dx 3 Years Ago
ang1e0251 replied to LoveIsntMade's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
So many of us wish we could experience the good health you do. You know I've read many posters who tested negative on blood but still had celiac disease. I've never read one say their blood work was positive but they didn't have celiac disease. I think your blood test was conclusive. It must be terribly hard to be asymptomatic and not question... -
ARCHIVED Longing For A Gluten Lifestyle
ang1e0251 replied to Gluteneater's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
One of things you are longing to do is share family recipes with your partner. I've been converting all my family recipes to gluten-free. Last Thanksgiving, we had all of our favorites and the only thing I could eat was the stuffing. I didn't convert that because I really don't care about stuffing. The green bean casserole, peach pie, turkey, and pumpkin...
