  1. I get that rash in the groin area but only if I'm glutened on consecutive days. I was using a flavoring every day in my coffee that brought it back and on another occasion, it was stevia packet that had wheat.
  2. Dispite strict adherance to the gluten-free diet, I'm still getting almost daily afternoon headaches. They are not quite migraines, but respond partially to imitrex if I need to take something to get through the day. The headaches are more pain, confusion, stiffness, and tension through my neck and shoulders and it lasts all through the evening. I...
  3. Thanks for the conversion. When I bake something like the no flour peanut butter cookies, will I need to add anything else for them to set up? I use the powdered stevia.
  4. I'm glad you have the answer you wanted. Keep listening to your body, it will continue to tell you what foods it needs. You are going in the right direction and I wish you great health! Keep asking any questions here you like.
  5. A week is a short time. I agree if you gluten load you could test in the next week or two. Nice of your dr not to offer to research it for you.
  6. If any of your products are fairly new, I would call Cover Girl and ask for a refund. Companies do not want you to break out from their makeup and they will be glad to refund you. That stuff is expensive! Then I would keep the ingredient list in your makeup kit so if you react to some other product, you can compare ingredients. It can be hard to pinpoint...
  7. Slow growth can be another piece of the puzzle. Reacting to gluten, well, I've read it described as you fill up like a rain barrel fills with every drop of rain until at some point, the barrel is full. Then you reach the tipping point, and the barrel spills over. You eat gluten until your body reaches the tipping point then it spills over with sickness...
  8. My family are fair concessonaires and the gluten-free products we sell are: Cotton cany snokones taffy peanuts soft drinks popcorn Butterscotch corn fudge caramel apples
  9. I used to disregard that and I was OK. But as time went by, I became more sensitive and was burned a couple of times by products I had been OK with before. So now I usually avoid those unless I read an endorsement here.
  10. I like unsweetened almond milk for cooking. I make smoothies and frappes with those as well. Frozen fruit plus the milk and sweetener in your blender makes and ice cream like smoothie.
  11. I've been replacing sugar with stevia for a couple of months. I'd like to try some desserts now but don't have any measurements on my stevia container to help me. Does anyone have any dessert recipes made with stevia you would share?
  12. Sorry, guys, the "Lite" version of Cool Whip does contain dairy which I found out the hard way. Once again, I really need to always read labels and not assume.
  13. I love my Kitchenaids! I've had the pro version for about 10 years and my hand held for 25. I wouldn't go back to those wimpy mixers!
  14. First let me say, I'm so sorry to hear how sick you have been. It is miserable to be that ill and have no health professional who can pinpoint the problem. The other poster is correct that your tests were probably slanted because you had been on a gluten-free diet. If you post your genetic test results here there are those who can give you a second...
  15. Some people call the IBS diagnosis "I Be Stumped".
  16. It sounds to me like you did the blood test after having eaten gluten free for some time. That test will most likely be negative. You have to actively eating gluten for the testing to have a chance. So your options are to go back to eating gluten for 2-3 months and then be retested or just eat gluten-free and go from there without a medical diagnosis...
  17. He could have celiac disease or gluten intolerance and so could you. Many people have been dx'd with IBS only to find out at a later date it was really celiac disease. I'm surprised the blood panel isn't covered in Canada. I know the testing takes some wait time but I thought you could usually get it. Canadian friends, what's up with that? Seems like...
  18. I still have 6-10 BM's a day ranging from normal to D. Still present with some urgency however no longer with the great pain I used to have. My gallbladder was removed quite a few years ago.
  19. The worst glutening I've had was from two packets of stevia laced with wheat. Not two in the same day, one the first day and one the second day. When the second one hit, I really reacted with all the old symptoms coming back including both rashes and full neuropathy. As the saying goes "a crumb is as bad as a loaf".
  20. I'm really sorry, Kevin. I didn't realize you are male. A Pap smear is a test for cervical cancer but males don't need to worry about that! I wonder if dairy can do it or sugar if you have bacterial overgrowth. That's a head scratcher.
  21. My daughter uses a vaporizer at night for her mouth breathing. It really helps her sinus and throat health. My gums showed much improvement when I started rinsing my toothbrush with hydrogen pyroxide before I brush. I also follow a brushing with toothpaste with dipping my TB in straight baking soda. The salt is very good for gums.
  22. Have you had a clean Pap smear this year? You want to rule out cervical problems.
  23. I had almost constant D. I thought it was because I had my GB out. Well, that contributed but as a further trigger to celiac disease. Now I get C if I eat too many alternate grains. I really feel better when I don't eat any grain.
  24. I'm overweight too and my dr gave me the same look you described. Many of us are overwieght rather than under. This disease is personalized and different for each individual. Some dr's have a hard time with that. They like things show nice and classic symptoms. Don't worry about it, if the diet agrees with you, that's all you need to know.
  25. If your bloodwork comes back positive, your dr will probably recommend a GI. If you want that, keep eating gluten. If you don't, do like she said and start the diet right away. I also agree that Tinkyada is the best pasta!
