  1. The baby had terrible behavior. Tantrums, hurting others, just an out of control child. Her other boys did not behave this way so it wasn't upbringing. When my assistant told me this child could not take the Pink medicine (antibiotics) when he needed it because he would vomit it as soon as it hit his stomach, I pointed out that he was obviously allergic...
  2. So, the capsules as well as the injections are gluten-free? If I'm sick enough to go to the dr, I won't feel up to researching Tamiflu. My pharmacy isn't much help.
  3. I know Tamiflu can be given by injection but I thought it was also available in tablets. No?
  4. My assistant's grandson had multiple rashes of different kinds for years. She recently took him off red dye and they have all cleared up.
  5. I haven't tried it but I am interested in it. It is reference on Dr. Carolyn Dean's website under her name. She has a link to buy it.
  6. Post the full results with the parameters as different labs can have different measurements.
  7. That kind of points to something in your living or working situation or something you ingest at home but not on your trip. Think about that and see if it clears up. For example, you probably did not cook in your room on your trip. But at home, you do cook. Is there gluten in your house? If there is, you may need to take a hard look at your situation...
  8. Hi, I was glad to see you back on the boards. I don't remember who was posting at the time but because of the comments, I looked up gastroperisis and I think my brother-in-law has it. I sent them a bunch of literature about it. He has severe diabetes and his was probably caused by his insulin levels too long elevated. If I remember, one can have...
  9. With Swine flu threatening to circle the globe, will those with celiac disease be able to take meds like Tamiflu? Anyone know if they are gluten-free?
  10. Greg, Thank you for taking the time out of your day to warn us all about a very serious subject. I'm sorry you have to go through this and I will keep you in my prayers. How generous of you to share your story to help others at this time. Angie
  11. Sounds like you are having a problem with Sneaky Gluten. It can hide in the craziest places! Recently another poster reported that many frozen chicken pieces are coated with gluten containing broth before freezing. Also I avoid items with "Natural Flavors". This might not always be necesary but unless you call the company you don't know if gluten is one...
  12. I'll add to that. I felt the sublingual B12 (methyl type) was a big help to me. They are soothing and give me energy and a sense of well being. Also increasing my dose of magnesium has really been great. It improved my BM's, relaxed the muscles in my neck and shouders and has improved my sleep a lot.
  13. I say, yes, if they are doing well on the diet then that is your answer. Is there a special reason why you need the dr to say it is celiac disease? He's showing a dietary response to the gluten-free diet and many allergists will accept a response like that as indicative of gluten intolerance. The dr's lack of dx seems to be causing you a lot of anxiety...
  14. I will sign any petition or add to any letter writing campaign to get drugs properly labeled. At my pharmacy I usually get "they don't give us enough info to know that." When you're sick and not in your right mind, it's so hard to have to see to these problems yourself. And in addition, why should we? Aren't we supposed to be protected by honest...
  15. When my daughter was 14, she began to have daily stomach aches. These were really causing her problems at school and I could not put together a pattern. After a few trials of nonsense, she had an endoscopy to look at her stomach which the dr thought might have problems. He told me if he saw nothing he would take a biopsy from the intestine to see what...
  16. I also have been dairy intolerant for many years. I have become more sensitive over time. I could eat yogurt at one time but not now. I recently gave up butter but found I was still OK with it, it was another food bothering me. You can be healing but take it easy on the dairy as you get a feel for what you can handle. I don't believe you do any...
  17. Watch out for those peanuts! My husband was buying me peanuts this week and he said the Aldi and Walmart house brand both had wheat in them! He bought me Planters which were gluten-free but I'm disapointed to see they have MSG which I try to avoid. They do taste good.
  18. I don't know much about IBS. I thought it was diagnosed in the large intestine not the small like celiac disease. Is that right or wrong?
  19. I loved the advice another poster recommended someone tell her MIL... "My dr and I are working on unravelling some new sensitivities and symptoms I have. He advised I not eat outside prepared food for now." This isn't a big stretch because you don't know why you are so sick on Mondays so you are still trying to figure out your illness. I like...
  20. I'm glad you'll soon have your endoscopy and go gluten free after that. You know you're Dad will come around when you start healing and feeling better. We were all just ignorant before. I include myself in that. I had heard of celiac disease but had no idea what it entailed. I didn't even suspect it for myself before my lightbulb moment. After a year...
  21. Although there is nothing wrong with peanut M & M's, nuts can be hard on a damaged system. You may want to avoid them until you heal a bit. The grilled chicken sounds safe, right? But if the grill was not cleaned first it could have been cross contaminated. Or if your cook used the same utensil to handle your chicken as some glutened meat, again...
  22. I'm going to let another worm out of the can. Are you sensitive to MSG? That sounded like an allergic reaction to me and I'm betting that soup had MSG. I've read other posters report some pretty severe symptoms from it.
  23. It would be appropriate to be retested at a year's interval. You don't need a test for lactose, just eliminate it and see. My daughter required an endoscopy and a biopsy for them to test for lactose. If I had understood it better, I wouldn't have put her through it. It wasn't hard on her, just unnecesary.
  24. I think it is barbaric to make you eat gluten for weeks for a test. Come on, do you know any GI dr that would rub poison ivy all over his body every day for 3 months just so it could do a huge amount of damage to skin to dx it?
  25. It sure could be celiac disease but that's why it is called the Great Pretender. Those symptoms fool dr's all the time into dx'ing other conditions. After all, they were taught that celiac disease is rare so they never expect to see it. You are smart to continue to eat gluten. Your husband should also until you are tested. If you go gluten-free...
