  1. Is the turkey breasted processed? Meaning is it nroated/prepared prior to puchase or contain ingredients other than Turkey? Some prepared meat contains seasoning or preservatives which can be difficult to tolerate --- it is not always gluten that is tough for the healing gut to process. Perhaps try baking a piece of plain turkey....while not as likely...
  2. I make carrot/onion/garlic soup that I use in place of tomato sauce.
  3. Completely understand and agree....you seem to have enough for on official diagnosis -- but things can go a bit wonky with the process at times....the tests are not perfect and the system is far, far from perfect. Your improvement gluten-free is another huge piece of the puzzle....happy to hear you have already had some
  4. Welcome Niese! I agree that both a tTG IgG and DGP IgG should have been run before gluten was removed. I suggest you still have them done just so your chart has the full antibody panel as close to removing gluten as possible. Since your biopsy indicated Celiac Disease as well - I do not suggest returning to eating gluten for any tests now. I do...
  5. Sorry your ped is being dismissive....sadly this is still far too common. Question -- what is the range for the Total Serum IgA of 29? If IgA deficient, the tests are inaccurate. Getting a Total Serum IgG run is not common, but I would suggest it as if the IgA tests are not accurate....that leaves only the IgG based tests...I strongly advise getting...
  6. skidding in late.............been a zombie for a bit there.............congratulations on your one month! Also add you have been a wonderful fun additional to the board and I am glad you are here and beyond happy to know you are improving quickly! Hip Hip Hooray for You

  8. Welcome LisaRae! You are going to have a blast! So here is how I live everyday - whether it is packing my bag for a few hours, all day or traveling. Prepare for the worst scenario and hope for the best. Being a music festival you have a good chance that there may be a vendor there that is completely gluten free, but I would still pack all my...
  9. Welcome Jepacar! Looks like your spell corrector may need to learn the word "Sensitivity" -- lol...my kindle was inserting "Celibacy" for "Celiac" for a while before I noticed. And yes not all those with Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity (NSGS) are Celiac -- but there is a lot of gray area between the two. Much research is needed in all areas of Functional...
  10. Welcome Lexi! Sorry to hear you are having such a tough time at home -- Karen is right....there are quite a few parents on this forum who will try to help....me included. I agree with making a real effort to help or take over the shopping while on your break. Offer to cook just one family dinner per week, maybe two. If that goes well more until...
  11. Roller Coaster ride of a day today....we say final farewell to a good friend that lost his battle with cancer last week....going to be very hard on hubs and his buds .... Then I do a quick change into comic con attire and hop the trolley to meet my son.....I have missed the past few years due to poor health .... so I am very excited...if there is wifi at...
  12. yum Peach Cake turned out great... BRM Vanilla Cake mix 4 Eggs 1/2 cup Oil 4 peaches -- pureed Mix well then I stirred in by hand another two peaches - chopped. Butter/Cream Cheese Frosting -- next time I'll be adding peach puree to the frosting...I ran out of ripe peaches...so total peaches needed would be 8 added three drops yellow...
  13. Sounds like a great plan to remove all gluten to monitor symptom changes/improvement. Kids often improve more quickly than adults, but it still can take some time to reverse the autoimmune type symptoms...I strongly suggest removing gluten for a minimum of three months - six is better. I can tell you my teens tested negative but have both improved gluten...

  23. My family and friends often feel bad for me because I can't eat what I serve them....tonight the house smelled great from the Chicken Chili the kid had brewing...so I dumped two left over containers on the plate for me.....mine looked so pretty I had to snap a photo and share on the funny pages...thought I'd show you guys too...I really don't miss too much...
  24. Welcome! Did your daughter have a complete Celiac Antibody Panel? I ask, because many docs will order only one or two of the tests to "screen" for Celiac Disease. If she has been tested....you may wish to consider removing ALL gluten sources for three months to monitor improved symptoms. Unfortunately Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity presents with...
