ARCHIVED Gluten Free Epsom Salts?
GottaSki replied to AngieJoy's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Glad this worked for you. I do feel the need to add -- be careful with your already impaired system - more isn't always better. There are many ways to improve all of the measurements you noted nutritionally as well. By the way...I forgot...Welcome to the Forum -

Yes a temporary rise in Tissue Transglutaminase Antibodies - either IgA or IgG is possible. The keys (in my opinion) would be: Symptom history. Other serological results. Endoscopy results - both observation and pathology. If you have no symptoms of Celiac Disease...simply wait and re-test in three months. It has been quite some time since... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Epsom Salts?
GottaSki replied to AngieJoy's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
You are welcome to research further...but I soak in epsom salt EVERY morning to get my locked up muscles moving and personally never felt the need to check for gluten and have never had any sort of reaction -- only healthful benefits from this morning ritual. As I use a large quantity I have used every brand available in Southern California and am currently... -

Again -- for me -- I don't worry about the rotation thing -- now that I am down to meat, fish, selected vegies and fruits -- oh I did get almond back -- but my total safe food list is very short and I eat as much of those safe foods as i want....I am not dropping weight but I look much lighter -- again that pesky inflammation deal. I should say that many...

For me....I have had many improved periods as I removed certain foods post celiac diagnosis. What it boils down to --- for me --- is my system was treating many foods as an invader. I'd remove or replace foods and then those new foods I was using became problems -- whether it was that I was eating more of them or just recognizing they were a problem...

Ahhh,,my apologies...didn't realize you were gluten-free for nine months....the celiac antibody blood tests are of no use other than follow up at this point. Have you tried keeping a food/symptom log? Some of us that went undx'd for a long while have to remove some other foods to help the gut heal. Nightshades -- Potato, Tomato, All Peppers and Eggplant...

I do believe Gemini said almost these exact same words to me about four years ago -- listen to her -
Many of the symptoms you are talking of can be related to Celiac Disease. That you have inflammation in the digestive system certainly adds to the possibility. If your doctor has run all necessary blood tests -- it is time to remove all sources of gluten for at least three months -- six is better to monitor symptoms as there is no test for Non Celiac Gluten...

We've got no AC as no one near the coast needed it when these houses were built in the 50s and 60s -- never needed it when I was kid except for one week in September -- first week back to school was always a SantaAna scorcher -- but great reason for us teenaged girls to wear next to nothing to school -- I am horrified at what we wore now! Anyway -- it is... -

What are her symptoms? Does this GI have a lot of experience with Celiac Disease and Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity -- sadly, not all GIs do. I find it curious that he/she would completely rule out Celiac Disease with a positive antibody test if they have extensive experience with young children. Be sure to ask for a written or electronic copy of... -

Glad to hear you are feeling better! Dinner tonight is seared Ahi -- or maybe grilled Salmon -- one will be lunch the other dinner -
Me too...note on the assembly after Karen added this note...I left the tot bag in the frig for the afternoon (tots were still real cold but not frozen solid) then assembled by cutting in half, placing the cube of cheddar between -- I wrapped in bacon - skipped the hot sauce as one of my men can't do pepper - did serve with hot sauce and others added at the...

ARCHIVED What Is Normal For First Ttg Antibody Check?
GottaSki replied to designerstubble's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
They mean the same thing...but this is strange wording. I still think your result is 1.2 with "normal" range being 0-10 and that you are well within normal -- perhaps your doc has a copy of your original antibody test in your file with the exact numbers on which tests -- positive is positive...but it sure does help to know how much it has lowered after over... -
ARCHIVED May God Bless Our Firefighters!
GottaSki replied to GottaSki's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Not this crew...but I know many firefighters thru my volunteer work with CERT....and Bartie is right...these guys that fight fire in crazy terrain are a breed all their own....I've met a few and I think of them today -- well every time I hear of wild fire...but today I am heartbroken for this crew's family, friends and other firefighters on the line. -
ARCHIVED What Is Normal For First Ttg Antibody Check?
GottaSki replied to designerstubble's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I don't understand the results as you typed them. I think it says you tested at 1.2 and normal range is (0-10). If this is the case you are not high at all. Sorry if I am not understanding your results. Edited to add...way too early in the game to start thinking refractory -- IMO -- you have had improvement in some symptoms -- healing can take longer... -

Last night we had the steak....and saved the beautiful huge shrimp I purchased for tonight....someone posted a really easy way to do shrimp which involves a stick of butter -- sounds great -- that is what is for dinner with pasta of some sort and brussel sprouts -- kinda similar to Addie's -- except with BACON -
ARCHIVED Has Anyone Healed Some Of Their Intolerances?
GottaSki replied to Maryw88's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Yes -- not many yet -- but I can do a small amount of rice or corn with no ill effect -- too much and I do have issue. I firmly believe I'll get many foods back....currently growing heirloom tomatoes for my next challenge PS...a very wise woman whom did get some foods back once told me the most important part of re-gaining foods -- trial with a small...
