  2. Sounds very similar to GAPS -- which I failed miserably -- my digestive system can't tolerate fermented foods...included homemade. This sort of diet has helped many with digestive issues -- great if your system can tolerate. PS...I did start making Bone Broth during GAPS -- which we have kept in the house regularly since for all broth purposes.
  3. Interesting....thanks for the update Meanwhile....I continue to soak each morning -- to get muscles/joints moving -- not sure how much this helps as magnsium supplementation. Do know that my skin has been glowing of late -- which is nice.

  5. The large one is a pressure gauge -- the small 'regular' pressure cooker just the weight.
  6. I've use a regular family pressure cooker for some things recently -- it holds about 6-8 jars -- for tuna we found a huge pressure cooker on craigslist so we can stack the jars and get many done at once -- been awhile since hubs brought back enough for canning -- I think we did 20- 24 jars at a time with it. I am no expert -- gotta get one of the Ball...
  7. Wow...can't think of much to say other than....I'm thankful you seem to be overcoming and moving on to the next phase of you and your daughter's journey. Heal well and keep looking forward to your move to paradise in December. As I said the other day...good to see you back on this board
  8. these dudes really need steam puff bubbles like the love smiley. that would let the anger vent properly
  9. I agree that it is good to keep all the epsom talk in one place. My first thought is that you should take another bath tomorrow at approximately the same time and temperature without epsom salt to see if just sitting in a warm tub caused this reaction.

  11. I just bought an inexpensive plastic one on amazon a few months back...then got more trays to do more with the same energy....I make jerky on bottom trays while drying herbs on top trays -- works great. Thanks for the Ball Blue Book note...going to find one -- we use pressure to can tuna...so i just need to know the basic rules for everything else --...
  12. Unfortunately it took me getting pretty damn sick before my hubs really got it -- and part of him did think I was faking flares for years -- he went through a pretty tough time when I was finally diagnosed and we learned more about what had been happening to me over the years -- I don't blame him -- there were times even I thought it must be all in my head...
  13. Yes....it is possible that your body is functioning stronger and therefore better able to regulate heat/humidity. Sounds like another thing to add to your improved symptom list to me
  14. My stable self is making more appearances lately -- my hubs and sons are VERY thankful Hang tight - eat right -- things will get better!
  15. I have a very limited whole food diet and safely consume Red Wine often. My intestines are finally healing according to my repeat biopsies -- there is no gluten in the wine I am drinking -- If I were offered a fine very old vintage -- I might question what it was contained in originally, but newer/mass produced wines are not held in containers with or strained...
  16. What does the 'p' stand for -- I have just this past year started canning things other than tuna -- hence I like the idea of this thread. i also dehydrate quite a bit now -- dried fruits and jerky are much easier to carry if I'll be out longer than a few hours.
  17. So sorry to hear you had a rough time this past year...but glad to hear things are improving. At any rate...good to see you back
  18. It is my experience that the damage caused by Celiac Disease can indeed cause autoimmune flares....Celiac itself doesn't 'flare' unless gluten is ingested. Stress can exacerbate this - as can hormone imbalance. My suggestion is go to your doctor -- ask for complete hormone panel to include TSH, Free T3, Free T4, eseridol, testosterone, progesterone and...
  19. Well Said. I've lived through two of these...up close and personal...everyone that comes to California is always afraid of earthquakes. Not me. Fire. Stay safe everyone in the path this year -- looks likes much of the West will need a few prayers along with all good thoughts.

  25. It is Summer...School is out right? How does he do with Mac and Cheese -- is he okay with dairy? Make a huge - lasagna sized pan of really good mac and cheese with either corn or rice pasta -- and throw in chopped cauliflower -- I SWEAR -- he will never know. my picky son had smoothies laced with vegies and lasagna and mac and cheese laced with cauliflower...
