  1. Hi there, I would completely avoid sharing the same toaster and drinks with a non gluten-free person. Your burger should never touch a non gluten-free bun. Your body is still getting gluten if you are having these issues. I know it is SUCH a pain. Hang in there and I hope you feel better soon.
  2. Check out the gluten-free Registery online. I did this when I went to Arizona. They list restaurants and reviews. I would also check to see if there are any celiac support groups or organizations along the way. I know that my chapter has a list of gluten-free friendly restaurants posted on their website. Happy travels!
  3. There is genetic testing out there. I just found a site called 23 and me. They can tell your heritage and disease profile. They claim that they can see if Celiac genes are present. The normal test is 500$, but sometimes they have sales (a friend of mine told me).

    ARCHIVED Angry

I completely understand why you are so angry. I want you to take Skylark's advice and go to the Disabilities office. I believe that these things happen for a reason, and by stepping forward with this, you will be helping others who follow after you. Planting seeds today will raise awareness later.
  5. Hi there! In Calgary you need to check out the BEST gluten free bakery in Canada "G.F. Patisserie". They are located in Cochrane and make artisan breads, cupcakes, brownies. My non-gluten-free family loves their products. You can find them on the web and become friends with them on FACEBOOK. The husband blogs about gluten-free friendly restaurants...

  11. I would join your local Celiac Association. You can get flours at Super Store and Kinnick (I can never spell their name). If you ever come down to Calgary you need to check out G.F. Patisserie. They make the best gluten free products! YUM! Also we have Copper Pot Creations which makes frozen meals.
  12. Before I was diagnosed I had HUGE problems with my muscles.
  13. Mary Kay for Makeup and the the girls at the MAC counter have a handy book they check into to see if the makeup is gluten free.
  14. I would AVOID Carnival! I had a terrible experience with them. I was on the Mariner of the Seas last summer and had a MUCH better experience. One thing I do now is take a couple of hours during the cruise to write how they could improve their gluten-free diet dinning experience as part of the comment card experience. Good luck with the planning and enjoy...
  15. We have a bakery in Cochrane Alberta called G.F. Patisserie and you should look them up. I know they were looking at expanding as a franchise. The baking is the best gluten free baking around. My non-gluten-free family loves their desserts! It you look up the Celiac Husband you can see what they can do. They are making wedding cakes now as well. Beautiful...
  16. I had a very different experience, but then I was on a different ship. I had a nightmare experience on Carnival. I would write to Royal Carribean and let them know EVERYTHING and give them tips on how they could improve their service. Tell them this is a "medical condition" not a lifestyle decision. I'm sorry to hear about the bad experience.
