  1. Did you eat it with a bun? If not, any seasonings used on the burger? That's usually the culprit. Sometimes filler is used on hamburger meat from what I've read that can be bread.
  2. I used to take Effexor when I was going through some pretty severe bouts of Depression a few years back. It made a night and day difference and if I forgot it (or ran out right before payday) I would go through pretty bad withdrawals (and "brain zaps" as I read it best online). While that med kept me one step away from killing myself, when I had to wean myself...
  3. I'm definitely sticking with the Probiotic for awhile to see what happens. I've put up with enough so it won't discourage me. I bought PB8 also, unfortunately after buying it, I found out how cheap Amazon has it (2 month supply is cheaper then the 1 month I bought!) but doesn't bother me. The cost of the "nip tuck" isn't cheap from estimates I read online...
  4. Thanks! Definitely wasn't easy losing it (had a few bumps along the way but persevered in the end). I'm actually considering a tummy tuck after saving up so that I can cover most/all of it (and only rely on a small part with a personal loan). For now, just re-formulating my workout routine in hopes that by focusing on the abdominal region more, it can tighten...
  5. I always just joke about me having Celiac. Not to hide any sadness or whatnot as some may do, but just because I naturally like making humor of things even though it doesn't always work Co-workers and (most) of my friends understand my condition and they know I'm serious about it but I don't let it hinder me. If they go out and it's a place that I can't...
  6. It's definitely overwhelming at first (my first week my mind went into complete meltdown). Now though, I've started developing a comfortable niche on what I can eat daily and while I'm more boring on foods since I don't like to get outside of my niche much I know that my "boring" meals keep me from severe pain, etc... and I'll take that any day of the week...
  7. Well, if there was ANY doubt I had that smelling it sets it off (Psychological or not) I just proved it tonight. Was out of town visiting friends back in my "old" hometown, stayed at Grandma's and while they have bread and whatnot, it's not in the open so I didn't have much of a reaction there except it's "usual" fussiness sometimes daily. Work today...
  8. I was diagnosed by the GI specialist. Never saw it coming either, in regards to suspecting this. Had my own symptoms for months that started with possible IBS, to something else, then had a biopsy done with the intestine and came back with that.

    ARCHIVED Cravings

In time you will. Before Celiac ever entered my life, I had a major fast food addiction (1-3x a day easily). I decided one day to finally start actually caring about my body and I slowly weaned myself off and now I never really have it (before or after dx). Granted, enjoying breads and then getting Celiac can be almost as bad as quitting smoking cold turkey...
  10. Open Original Shared Link Unfortunately they contain corn but the best I can think of off the top of my head.
  11. Before my dx, I was swigging Pepto (Target brand since I was buying it so much) and it kept my stomach/insides sane enough on the pain aspect. So it definitely can help if its more stomach pain that's the issue. Sadly, the money spent on Generic Pepto went right back to spending more being gluten-free but pain-free even with still slight-severe bloating is...
  12. Come to find out...it was location. One closer to my home had it all 20 cents cheaper. That adds up over time of course. Hoping to be able to make it this weekend finally with some time in.
  13. Thank god I'm not the only one that has this as my only symptom. Most of the ones I read on here have major D issues if glutened whereas all I get is a stomach/abdomen that looks like something is growing inside and in it's worst form, ready to explode. Thankfully since going gluten-free, I don't get the really brick hard stomach anymore unless I gluten myself...
  14. Not really TMI unless you went into even more graphic detail. On a semi-related note, I must have had a gluten filled dream because I woke up and my stomach region was EXTREMELY bloated (looked like a mountain was growing in me). Never seen it that bad and I had nothing last night to bring that on but something must have done it...Had to take a few...
  15. I haven't. I have a mild reaction to the Honey Nut ones but not sure what does it yet. As long as the box says gluten-free, you're good to go unless you have a sensitivity to something else in it.
  16. Thanks all for the responses. It would make sense to be more of a "mental thing" when I think about it. Granted, it still at times likes to just randomly do its thing when I'm not thinking about it. Though "gentle" reminders shouldn't kill me...yet. Overall though, it makes sense to be a mental thing. Being new to it all still, it'll happen more often around...
  17. I swear I've seen this at Hy-Vee (midwest grocery chain) before. Next time I go grocery shopping, I'll double check. Thanks for the tip
  18. I was the same way. I was relatively healthy (some previous surgeries, one involving untwisting my small intestine years before this came on), and then all of a sudden one day in December it starting hitting me and by late December I was going through hell everyday with my stomach. No one else here saw it coming either since I've been normal enough since...
  19. The past 3 times since diagnosis in April, work has had food days. One was during some additional training which had alot of us in a 'medium' sized room. They brought in things that just by breathing, I knew I couldn't touch. Well, my stomach went berserk and became rock hard and bloated/distended very visibly (the worst it gets if I accidentally take in...

    ARCHIVED Uno's Pizza

Very helpful for me since I may be going to Chicago for a week in August and Uno's sounds like a good option while visiting. Granted, I much prefer Bard's Tale to Redbridge (Redbridge just tastes a tad too light for me) but if that was the only option there, it's better then no beer.
  21. So I finally found some in stock at Hy Vee in West Des Moines. They seemed to be grossly overcharging at $4.29 so I limited myself to 1 (it was WEST Des Moines so exploit the richer folk that live out there...) of the brownies for now until I find another store. This picture shows how popular they seem to be here at least. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums...
  22. My stomach is being a little odd to the flavored ones so far. Strawberry ones don't seem to cause any massive bloating but the Honey Nut does off and on (today it got real mad in visible bloating/distending before hitting gym so it wasn't the most enjoyable experience). Trying to narrow down what causes it is another challenge of its own...
  23. Mine are "relatively" mild compared to others. Right above belly button region (upper left area of abdomen if looking at me) bloats/swells majorly and becomes brick hard, literally. Also become extremely constipated (and yet relieving myself once it starts to calm down usually dulls the problem) and constant dulling pain with short bursts of pain every 3...
  24. While on my weekly trip, I discovered Hy Vee finally has gluten-free Strawberry Chex. Still no gluten-free chocolate or cinnamon yet but since Honey Nut and Strawberry were both on sale 5/$10 I had to stock up since honey nut has not caused me any troubles and hoping strawberry goes as planned too.
